James Brown's greatest dancing period , BY FAR , was his Pre-Funk period when he was still lead singer of THE FAMOUS FLAMES (Bobby Byrd, Bobby Bennett, and Lloyd Stallworth) . He was younger, stronger, and danced better...and he and The Flames pushed EACH OTHER to be BETTER !!! He was still good later as a solo artist....but not as good as with THE FLAMES.
Yep that was prime JB vocals were different really raspy for songs like cold sweat and ballads but then he showed us in the early 70s that he had that high pitched Yelp/scream more seasoned. Evidence of which I believe was best shown in Zaire.💯

In the black and white part like the very second one I immediatley thought that almost looks like thats chadwick boseman which i kmow its not but it just shows how great he portrayed the great james brown
Chadwick Boseman didn't even come close to doing any of James Browns moves! I wish the editor of the movie would have at least spliced the footage together to make him look like he was moving fast, but he looked slow and pathetic in dance. James brom, as seen in these older video's, moved as fast as Bruce Lee! His moves had snap to them! Bosman didn't capture that and the director didn't care to perfect it! Yet, people that saw the movie did the pc thing and said he was incredible! The script was cliche and the set and costumes of the players all looked like the stage production of Cotton Comes To Harlem! We keep pretending to like the garbage Hollywood puts out, they'll keep making it for us and won't bother trying to raise the level of greatness!
