My pure faith build was is my favorite
I did that last year, and it was a ton of fun! Took me five tries to take down Malenia because I was so used to melee combat, but it was a good time.

I did a similar thing because I felt like I didn't beat some of the bosses 'legit' first time round, so I ended up beating Malenia and Radagon (and Elden Beast) parry only with the Buckler and a dagger, actually super fun to learn tbh, kinda makes it feel a bit more like Sekiro playing that way
Man, watching Jev's series is what made me pick up the game in the first place.
The build I'm currently doing is a mix of both his playthroughs.
Int str build with a sheild and so far, it's been great because I can switch up how i fight based on how the bosses react.

I recently finished an ER playthrough with a heavy thrusting sword and shield jist because it looked fun. Who cares how you build in Souls games, only two things matter: having fun and having good drip.
Also, did you know when Malenia does her sweeping kick, you can backstep and immediately counter for a free hit (depending on your weapon of course).

@3:44 you can dual wield aka "power stance" any daggers. doesnt need to be the exact same ones, as long as they both are classified as "Daggers"
the only way i could see to further optimize daggers without being cheese would be getting the turtle shield for stam regen (stacks with talisman) and one of the sword insignias to boost successive attack; love u jev

My second playthrough I powerstanced daggers just to tell myself I could do it, and It was so fun, but such a big mistake for a second playthrough. Its so cool to see Jev doing the same on a playthrough

Also Jev cinquedea boosts bestial incantations, which, isnt very popular but I find them interesting, particularly Gurranqs boulder which is fast and does near moderate damage & the claw from the ground slicing one that does decent posture damage
real talk, a dual dagger run is actually really fun, using successive attack buffs and bleed on your daggers if you like that

They’re so OP… they make magic and guts greatsword both look like some kind of crazy challenge run Skumnut would do. On my RL1 run I didn’t know about those fists til elden beast and I immediately killed him first try with them. I would love to see anyone do a run with them cause it’s so insane to watch everything melt like butter 😂

After getting to the final boss in Sekiro and trying to master the parry in Lies Of P I think I may return for a 4th playthrough. I’ve been waiting for the DLC after getting the platinum.
