    Thanks for the video and the great MPs, Steve. I started with the HT3 Jazz, which has become my favorite mouthpiece EVER! The sound & overall flexibility is fabulous, and I like it a lot when playing combo work in a restaurant with patrons right in front of the bell because I can play out without worrying about splitting their eardrums. That experience was so good that I picked up both the HT3CS28 and HT3C27, and am not disappointed in any way. The HT3C27 is perfect for brass group work, while the HT3CS28 gives me a bit more sizzle and ease in the upper range when needed = just like described in the video! I guess I am a fan because the rim is so comfy for me ... and I prefer stuff in the 3C family = perfect! Couldn't be happier!

      blaine kelley Blaine,
      I'm very happy the mouthpiece is working out for you. It is great to see others have the same positive results as I have with these mouthpieces. Next in the line up will be a piccolo Mpc. Stay Tuned To the HornTrader!

    These are working very well for me. I was already playing on a fairly similar Mount Vernon 3C rim, but these cups and backbores have been a great compromise between sound and endurance. For trumpet players who have to live in the real world (i.e. not able to spend hours a day playing Clarke studies) these make the most of what you have. There is an intensity or solidity of tone even on the HT3CS-28 that you do not normally get with this style of mouthpiece. It is all very well balanced. Good job Steve (and Mark).

    Wow that 1.5C would've been nice back right before I bought the HT3CS-28. But oh well I love the piece I have right now :). It took some time to get used to the shallowness but I think I've got it down pretty well. And I might be getting that jazz mouthpiece soon :).

      I'm glad to hear you say that, I went through the same thing, adjusting to a shallower cup took me about a week. Steve set me up with a mouthpiece he thought would work well for me, switching to trumpet from cornet. I'm not the greatest player and maybe don't have the worlds finest trumpet but he was right. I'm getting a much more brilliant tone than before, kind of what the trumpets know for right?

    hai Horn Trader im gona step up from my ytr 4335gII trumpet i can aford the 6335 or 6345g witch of them can you recomend and what is the difference in blowing on a 460 bore vs smaler bore on 6335g or are they realy any better than my ytr4335gII

  • @thomasplaystrumpet3834

    so with the ht3c 27, is it harder to play higher than the ht3c 28? you mentioned it can do d's and e' but what about A's. I'm personally looking for a more classical mouthpiece but I wouldn't want it to take away from my range. Also, I saw you gave some info on the other guys horn. I recently purchased a conn vintage one that I love dearly. its a ml bore in silver (1b-46 so not the rose brass bell I believe). the serial number is 929973. can you possibly inform me on what year it was made and any other information I may not have known yet? thanks Steve!
    -Thomas

    • @HornTrader
      @HornTrader  Před 8 lety

      The 27 hole has less resistance that the 28 hole. I can play A's with the 27 hole but with out the sizzle.
      The HT3CS-27 has a slightly warmer sound and would be great for an orchestral "POPS" repertoire orchestra. Not sure of the serial number but I believe it is fairly current. Say, with in the last 5 years.

    Hi, thanks for replying to my other post regarding trumpet reconditioning. can you tell me anything about my trumpet that came with glowing reviews from the music shop? it's a Bach 43 ML with a star stamped on bell serial #880235

    • @HornTrader
      @HornTrader  Před 8 lety +1

      43 Broader, brighter, more open than 37
      The Star means the brass thickness is thinner or "lightweight " gauge of brass.
      with a 880K serial number means your horn was recently manufactured with in the last year or so.
      Jazz (Lead) Nice Projection, Great for jazz Might be too bright for some strictly classical players who play in symphony orchestras.
      Modern trumpets are built in various bores and the so called "Medium" bore (0.453") is recommended for dance orchestra and other strenuous work. The "Medium Large" (0.459") or "Large bore (0.462") are with some exception give preference by symphony men. The "Bore" generally refers tot eh valve bore alone and does not indicate what tone quality or timbre is to be excepted from the instrument - unless additional information is given regarding the size of the bell and mouth pipe.
