    Needed a short shaft lower unit. I bought an new Aqua Lark in 1975, and my dad found a used 20 hp Merc. Short shaft. Ran great!

    They were made in South Holland Illinois the guy was a dentist that had this side business. My picked my first one up at the factory
    After the company went BK I bought a hull and top from the company that bought the MOLDs and built one with the deep cutting V
    With a hydro foil on a 25 yamaha it drives and handles unbelievable smooth.

    That came out cool. I like that and it could be worth $3500 because it's so small and can probably tow that with a miata. Yea, the long shaft kind of gives it a high center of gravity and unstabilized it a little bit but it was a free motor so you have to use it. Sea doo Trailer? I like your other project. Thank you for sharing.

    I have two of these you need a fin and trim tabs to make it plane perfectly. I swapped out the steering wheel for a white small one.
    I call mine Little boat. I love them more than my 22 ft Reagl

      Hey Lawrence, I'm picking up one of these Aqua Larks >>> can you share more details regarding the trim tabs and fin you installed? Is there a good forum to subscribe to?

    I have a long shaft on my aqua lark; works just fine. Your outboard needs a a hydrofoil. Hydrofoil will pop it right out of the water.

      Thank you for that.. Much appreciated. Do you have the cavitation plate even with the bottom of the boat?

      @TaintedNate Před 3 lety +1

      @@Toyman-rj9vy yes. Hyrdofoil goes on the caviatation plate. Makes the boat plane much faster

    You did a fantastic job with this restoration. I think you were inquiring about the yellow color of the Aqua Lark. Each Walt Disney World Resort had a different color (blue, yellow, white, etc.) Your yellow Aqua Lark likely came from Disney’s Polynesian Resort (assuming that the yellow paint was original).

    Did you get a new rubber bumper after you split the boat? If so where did you get it, do you have a link or what it was called? I have the same boat I am restoring. Nice job on yours!!

    Those scoops on the top rear are meant to face forward

    • @Toyman-rj9vy
      @Toyman-rj9vy  Před rokem

      One faces forward and the other one backwards. One supplies fresh air and the other exhausts it. Am I correct?

      @Nauticalimage Před rokem

      @@Toyman-rj9vy no both face forward your exhausting is out through your cable holes and around the sides of the seat

    I picked up one of these from I client I did some work for a few weeks ago. Quick couple of questions if you have the time. The two black things on top between where the battery and gas are housed; what are they for and are they something available for purchase somewhere? Mine has no rubber grommets anywhere for the back cables, do you have any recommendations for what size and where to get some. Your boat looks really clean, and I'd like to do something close to it. Take care!

    • @Toyman-rj9vy
      @Toyman-rj9vy  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for watching. Your first question. The black things on top. They are Cowl vents. They let air in an out of the hull to remove gas fumes. You can purchase them at Wholesale Marine. They are usually chrome i just painted them. Make sure the size you buy matches the hole size on the hull.
      For the second question. I was lucky as mine had the middle one at least. For the other two to make it look like a finished edge go to Auto Zone or Amazon. Purchase U shape car door edge protector. Cut what you need and wrap the hole. You may need a heat gun depending on what one you purchase. Let me know if you need anything else. Also you need to make a video before and after. Good Luck!!!
