From Dietch Projects:
In their current incarnation, Boredoms music is characterized by pounding percussion and radiant
neo-folk synth flourishes, where concentric circles of repetition are the structure from which their
instruments explode spontaneously. Their latest release from Vice Records is called Seadrum/ House
of Sun and is the most tropically futuristic title to date.
Seadrum/House of Sun, their latest album, was edited from recordings spanning a couple of years (including some with former guitarist Yamamoto). As the name hints, some of it was recorded at the beach, with the tide coming in as they played. The album continues the style of near-tribal drumming and psychedelic atmospheres found on Vision Creation Newsun. The two lengthy tracks comprising the new album manage a paradoxical blending of peaceful waves of sound with intense, churning rhythmic moments. “Seadrum” seems perfect for sharing with the outdoors, while “House of Sun” carries a whiff of the opium den.
Yoshimi recently explained the recording of “Seadrum” with Hisham Bharoocha in Index Magazine: “We set up our drums kits on wooden boards in the sand, and we didn’t stop playing until the tide came in and the drums started getting wet. Then we submerged a mic in the water to record the sound of the drums under the sea. We set up so many mics-there’s no way we could ever listen to all the tracks. But we ended up using the essence of that recording in “Seadrum.”

You only get to hear a piece of music like this for the first time once in your life. Don't be distracted. Dance or something
in my opinion Seadrum is one of their best tracks, the piano, the vocal, the drums, there is such a beautiful energy
house of sun one of those obvious tunes that's always existed since the beginning of time, just waiting to be plucked out of the air and saved to DAT
aka the sound of the universe cumming
kumming sorry
You spelled it right the first time.
Fuck yeah
After hearing Seadrum, my perspective of what music is has changed completely
Hearing this for the first time right now, only 2 minutes in and I can already tell this is something special.
Great album, Great Band.
Heard this yesterday on WFMU and wow it is amazing
thats dope
Jesus Freakin Christ this is beautiful! Was not prepared to have a new top 3 Boredoms release.
Have always loved these two tracks since first hearing them about 14 years ago... Still holds up
i concur.
That first track reminds me of that one time I played grandia.
Also kinda reminds me of the Goron valley in ocarina of time.
great dude!
what a sonic vista!!!
This one always relaxes me
When those drums get going I dunno man that shit pumps me up! But definitely the intro with Yoshimi vocalizing along with the House Of Sun bit.
The drums and piano remind me of a calming big water fall, water falling violently, but very traquil
Really great, I really love the sitar
thank u whitedude877 ! (and boredoms!!!)
i rly rly like this song! a lot!!
insane
This is everything!
SO FINEEEEEE
i thought this would be noise since i was recommended this from a hanatarash song
yamantaka eye, singer of boredoms, was also in hanatarash! early boredoms is very noisy and chaotic. this is from their drum circle period, or close to it I think. they went through quite the change from the late 80's until the late 90's/early 00's.
@@gyrados78 this explains why am i fan of albums like vision creation newsun. and not so much the earlier stuff.. super ae is good too....
01 Seadrum 0:01

@bucky boredoms is a bladee side project
@@scum1979 so true
15:03 epic moment

Don't know how I feel about that one. Seadrum is fucking fantastic but House Of Sun is annoying at best.
Seadrum is pretty awesome but then House of the Sun is pretty boring IMO. Just the typical association of Indian music and Psychadelic music. Nothing interesting
