I cannot believe that people can assume that she owes them any explanation on decisions she takes about her body and her health. People are so arrogant and think everybody are beholden to their "followers" for everything. Totally ridiculous.

But when you go on the internet and TV literally blabbing about losing weight on a drug...oh but it wasnt Ozempic, and is playing with the truth that no one asked about, then you set yourself up for comments. Secondly, there is a lot of medical contriversy about the drug. Thirdly, probably not the best role model for young people. There are still countless people who lose weight the old fashioned way...which takes a lot of stamina and determination but it is done. And forthly...the rich can afford to take an easier path, while the average joe cannot. People have a right to their opinions and if these rich entertainers want to openly share what they do, is it right to judge someone for the opinion they form?
She was diagnosed as being pre-diabetic. If there's been a struggle to lose weight she's allowed to make the decision to take weight loss medication to help her lose it.
I understand that she took a drug to help with her prediabetes that has a side effect of weight loss. But it's fascinating that anyone feels that they have the right to judge her.
Pre-diabetic is another term for insulin resistant. That is caused by diet. It doesn't just happen to you. You ate fats and sugars and now your body can't regulate properly. It isn't easy losing weight without help, but it can be done. You just have to make up your mind to stop eating everything you want. We have no idea what problems this medicine will cause long-term.
Because she was lying about it and misleading the public into thinking exercising by walking in New York City was the cause of all of this

@@skprincess725 Two reasons. One, it’s not something she can hide since you can see it when you look at her. Two, it’s her business. If she feels comfortable talking about it, she should be able to. If she doesn’t, she shouldn’t have to. Think about being in her shoes for a second. Would you want the world to judge you? Would you want to be forced to talk about your body if you didn’t want to with the entire world and be criticized for it? No. She’s human with feelings. Again, it’s none of our business. Can you imagine if she came out and said “Yeah, I used this drug and look at me!” everyone and their mother would flock to it. There would be shortages and deaths because not all meds work for everyone. She’d be sued and blamed. I’m sure she doesn’t want that on her shoulders either.

@@rsingh9900 I didn't have to lose the amount of weight she did but I've had success with Intermittent Fasting. I only eat from 2pm to 8 pm and the rest of the time it's just water, tea or coffee. It's good for maintaining weight too.

I don't have any problem with her using the medication at all... She simply didn't tell the truth initially. She wasn't forthcoming, instead, she chose to say it was walks and exercise and proper eating.
Agree the backlash doesn’t come from taking the drug it is from the dishonesty. Oprah denied it to and then admitted it, more backlash.

And with these drugs it is. Plenty of people have taken these drugs, not changed their behavior and all they do is make themselves so sick that they eventually quit the drug and then claim the drug doesn't work. It's a tool that helps, but it's not magic. It's still calories in and out and exercise.
So she didn't tell the whole truth; big deal. It's her life and she doesn't have to reveal everything about her life if she doesn't want to just like everybody else.

Congrats to Kelly, Whoopi & Oprah for taking care of their health. All three look terrific, bravo to all. Even with medicine many people cannot lose weight because of so many variables. Better sleep & diet, less caffeine & alcohol, more exercise & positive thoughts doesn't make it happen overnight, it's a journey. Celebrities have trouble conveying how they achieve weight loss success because everyone thinks it is a magic pill.

To give Kelly the benefit of the doubt, with her platform, if she mentions it, the company & public will take that as an endorsement. Her image & weight-loss is already being used to endorse the garbage ACV Gummies all over the internet🙏🏽🙏🏽. She has to tread lightly with specifying what she took. Unless the company agrees to a paid endorsement. Having said that, yes she should have been transparent that she took weight-loss shots.

She denied it at first because MAYBE at first she actually wasn't taking it but had to start supplementing the drug because her doctor and she weren't getting the desired results. If she'd revealed at the start that she was on a weight loss drug, she would've received the same kind of "none-ya-business" backlash of the people saying she shouldn't have used a drug, blah, blah, blah. Just like with anything, you work with your doctor to find what works and doesn't work for you so I'm sure there was some trial and error and she did it the way it ultimately worked for her. Dropping 60lbs over the course of a year isn't drastic. 5 lbs a month is VERY normal for most people. It's her business to say what she did and didn't do so people need to stop thinking they have a right to know. Celebrities are people and just like all people, have a right to their privacy. True fans aren't going to care how she lost the weight because her health, happiness and overall healthier lifestyle is HER business.

NO - the pharm companies would love to sell it to everyone and make the $$$ .... it's the insurance companies gatekeeping, because they don't want to subsidize the cost - EVEN WHEN it would reduce health issues, hospitalizations and DEATH of their insurance plan members. It's all about the money.

I’m glad she said she used medication to assist her with gaining back her health. Being diagnosed pre-diabetic is actually one step away from being diabetic. I’ve been pre since 2017. It’s a struggle and I’m still not on any meds but I do blood sugar readings and it’s helpful. My weight goes up and down like my blood/sugar readings and it becomes frustrating. I applaud her for whatever she feels is necessary. While it’s not any of our business she did say she did it with exercise. So in away, she’s coming clean. Yes, she had to be truthful because of her previous statements and in my humble opinion, it’s her business but coming out with the truth is always better. There shouldn’t be any backlash against her! It’s her health and she’s taking control of her health so people please be kind.

HIPAA isn't relevant here. HIPAA prevents covered entities such as healthcare providers or insurance plans from releasing your protected health information. Private people can choose what they tell others, but they certainly have a right to privacy.
Why are people so sensitive? Every one of us will die in 60-75 years from now and will be replaced by new humans, just do what you wanna do as long as you are not stepping on someone. We are not special so stop thinking about your sensitive feelings!

I’ve tried all of it too and I still struggle with my weight. Everyone’s journey is different. I started with yoga now I’m trying to eat more vegetables. And we should stop telling people that one particular diet plan is going to work for everyone.

I am what is considered morbidly obese. I don’t qualify for these medications because I’m not diabetic or pre-diabetic which is a good thing. But I also am stuck trying to loose weight on my own, without medication and purely with exercise and diet and that’s hard at a point where your body works against you. When physical movement causes asthma there is no exercise. So you just do your best.
My point is no one should judge anybody on their weight loss journey! Kelly found something that worked for her and I couldn’t be happier for her. If you ask me it sounds like there are a lot of jealous people out there.😊

I have PCOS and take Ozempic to regulate my sugar and they increased it to help me to lose weight. Now if I start working out more and dieting, that will contribute to my weight loss. Now, I have to tell people how I got myself back into better health. NO!!!!!

A couple of years ago I finally reached my goal of 175 after years and years of struggling of weight gain. It was annoying how many people commented on my weight, saying i look thin or sickly or i need to eat more, when a) i never asked their opinion, and b) they dont know how hard i worked for this goal
