This was my Mom's favorite song, they sang it at her funeral.
This song is a very very deep prayer. Asking God to order one's steps is no child's play nor is it cost-free. It involves:
- total consecration and surrendering one's whole body and heart on God's altar.
- Allowing Him full-access to every part of our heart to purge and mold.
- Giving up anything that makes Him unhappy- lies, fornication, indecent dressing that isn't for His Glory, dishonor to one's parents, stealing, impure thoughts etc.
- Spending lots of time with Him daily in prayer and His Word. This is the toughest for me as so many things call for my attention but I've been putting in the time, lately; I just spent 1.5hours early hours of the morning with Him and I've been along that path for some weeks now.
- Making Him a proud Dad by the life we live, thoughts we have, and steps we take.

I remember being 12 hearing them sing this in Baptist church. When women wore their fancy hats and grandma kept peppermints in her purse to past me when she saw me nodding off while the preacher preached. Nothing like that time. Boy what a time to be alive. This song has its own apartment in my heart. ♥️🌿😊

Fact: I remember hearing some gospel song, (sorry, can't think of the name), sounding similar to this one my sister played in the van while on our way back from church, she taped this from the radio, this woman singing was super excellent! As the song we listened to wound down, she started hitting those high notes, the same way Minnie Riperton did in her song "Adventures in Paradise", (listen to the few final high notes Minnie hit in that song)! Wow! I'll never listen to that song again! How she sang her tail off was top notch! I hope she still has that cassette nearly 23 years later.
