What a great video! So much gold in this. Love this series 🔥🔥
I was waiting for this for so long
As a Penguin customer, I am glad that you did this Video. Because it helps me to get the best mark deck(s) money can buy. and the deck for the right moment. I am also glad that Penguin print these decks continuously. It would be a shame if they stopped printing marked decks! DMC Elites are great for eyes that really need to see the Markings.
These videos help and takes out all the guess work to get the deck(s) I need.
Once again, great video! Quick addition to the Card Shark Marked (and even regular unmarked Deck) have a clever and undetectable (for the uninitiated) one way design in the front and back. Plus the 2 ad cards that have secret cribs disguised as real card games games.
fantastic review thx guys!
I knew a little about marked cards. Now I feel like an expert, thanks for the video!
Great video. Over the last year I have mostly played with the silver butterfly decks. I also got Neural Miracle from Phil Smith recently and it's a really powerful tool. The DMC's never disappoint.
Thank you fore a good rewiev. I was hoping you wold talk aout the butterfly deck also.
Thanks so much I will definitely consider some of these
I use the Penguins and DMC all the time. Just perfect cards in both cases. Great job!
Awesome video guys!
Gabriel did the main design of the Gliders, I created & applied the marking system. There will indeed be a V2 this year!
Yes, The Code was always produced in Maiden backs.
Awesome work Kevin. The decks Penguin has been putting out in 2021 have been absolutely brilliant.
@@helderdacosta4699 Thank you very much! We have some great stuff in store for 2022 - including the new DeLand tribute deck that Nick mentioned! :)
A good review on a good choice of decks!
I use the Penguin marked cards as my everyday deck. Also have a couple of Voyage Jules Verne decks, which I can tell by the rifle-test are marked - but I can’t decipher the marks. Very intriguing - and they’re gorgeous cards.
You should make a Top Ten Tricks with a Marked Deck video.
awesome video as always :) . How about top 10 levitation tricks (with no ITR) / top 10 card magic books(which fly under the radar)?
The S.U.M. deck from Card Shark is another very good mnemonica marked deck.
DMC elite is definitely the legend of the marked deck.
Those cohorts are soft and easy to handle, smooth
I use cohorts all the time! The unassuming look to them just flat out doesn't draw scrutiny. They look like something straight from a gas station. Hands down my favorite readers!
They look great but 10 and K are a nightmare and I'm ordering a navy blue sharpie to add my own markings .Do you have trouble with em too?
@@Dave062YT they haven't bothered me as of yet. If I wasn't wearing my glasses I would certainly be in trouble lol.
I have the Ghost Edition Cohort. I love the look of them. I had to actually look up how to read them because I couldn’t find the markings. Now it’s obvious and I worry that someone will spot it because it’s obvious, even though I know I had to look up how to read them😅
I've got 1 and 2, as well as a very old beat up deck from a small cheap magic trick deck in a box called The Amazing Magical Wonder Deck that I got from Books-a-Million years and years back. It came with a boat load of gaff cards that I loved too, including a trapdoor jack of spades (my favorite card), 4 Queens that turn into Kings, false index cards and an ace of clubs with a massive deliberately sloppy looking hole in it. On top of the coded markings the deck was also a stripper deck so it was the most "decked" out magic product I had at the time.
I have a question though, a little bit back in time I saw a video uploaded for the Box of Powers by you guys. But then it seems to have been taken down. Was that an accidental early upload or is that video not coming out? I'm super intrigued by it.
We will repost that video in the next couple of days.
Also magic Decland automatic marked stripper deck blue are very cool too I got in my Collection of cards
Is there any way you can recommend a brick of the penguin marked cards half red and half blue?
Got dmc all of decks green red gaff blue letter deck
Butterfly deck black and gold
Medusa Playing Cards with 7 Marking Systems
1900 Marked deck red and blue
😃👌
Thank you!
I´m using copag 310 marked deck. For me it´s very easy and fast to read.
Great video, please can you help, Were can I get a marked deck with just numbers on the back I've seen Wayne Dobson use one and I love the concept
Many of these decks are what are called readers. These are marked cards that more or less use normal letters and numbers to mark the cards. Here is a link to a fan favorite: www.penguinmagic.com/p/13100
11th Hour, Emperor, Phill had a couple of decks on Kickstarter, just off the top of my head.
The Phoenix not only has markings on all four corners (good for righties and lefties) but the design is a one way design - front AND back! Also, all their specialty decks are marked on the bottom of the case, to identify it (marked, stripper, svengali etc). Visible at 45:05. ...yeah, I am a Phoenix fan ha ha 😎
My First marked deck 20 years ago was the Dekram deck however the card stock and glossy stuff wasn’t nice but I still have this deck. The Penguin marked deck is the one I use most often because I destroy a lot of cards and they are very nice, lately I have been ordering DMC Elites because my eyesight isn’t as good as it used to be but these are more expensive (very much worth the price) but I don’t like destroying these cards as the cost adds up and from arms length Penguin marked decks are still brilliant and easy to read not to mention 5$ per deck when purchased in a brick :) I’m all about saving money and I have these out all day to have shuffled, inspected, etc… No marks were ever discovered.
I just bought the Cohorts and sadly I cant see the markings without switching to reading glasses so will prob try DMC Elites .Also the x of 10 and K of king look exactly the same .
Where can I get the mugs that your using
Do you ship in Romania from your online site? It don't appear the option for my country (Romania). ?
Yes we do. If you don't see your country on the menu please email support@penguinmagic.com
Nice video. I’m seeing it after being up for a year so my bet is no one is going to read this one of many thousand comments.
I collect marked decks especially “readers”. I agree 100% with your comments. I love the DMC decks. You should mention that they are a SUM deck like :The Code” and “Marksman”. But my favorite deck is your P3 Maiden readers; absolutely the best bang for the buck! Plus I love the fact that the new ones are on the “Elite” stock.
About the Phoenix decks… You talked about the “Large” type face. What you didn’t know is they are referring to the fact the cards have “ONE WAY” fronts. One of the numbers is more BOLD FACE than the other. It’s really a great “magical” feature. What would be fantastic is if you incorporated this into your P3 decks. Also it would be nice if the back had a one-way mark. It’s easy to do.
Regarding the “first” Reader deck… I believe it was a rub-off created by Ted Leslie. It was a great way to mark Rider Backs. I do have a half dozen marked Reader Backs from many years ago. The Rider Backs are truly the most “standard” back. But I’m very happy the both the Maiden (P3) and the Mandolin work just fine for me suspicious wise.
The pioneers and the crossed keys decks are very classy looking readers.
No Black Roses love? Reader back, one way faces, hidden reveals on some courts, and a double backer and duplicate (with the blacks), all for just over $10. It's my go to deck. Love that minimalist tuck case design. The only other marked decks I own are the Penguin marked cards.
Is there a top ten rubber band tricks, because I would like that!
Does the penguin marked deck come in Madeline
I have 1, 2 and 7, I also like the dapper deck
Is there any mark in opel card ???
I have over 1k Penguin marked Mandolin backed decks from you guys-- yes 1k !!! I also love the DMC Elites-- especially the V5's in both red and the Cobalt Blue they had at the DMC store last year-- have 1k decks of DMC's as well. A few months ago I bought around 1k Blue Butterfly decks from you guys also-- Those 6-packs of Blue Butterfly's are a steal at $75/ 6 pack. The Butterfly cards a are insanely good-- have spectator shuffle the deck and just name a card-- instead of pick a card with that ingenious marking system--- Lastly-- I'm surprised the Crossed Keys deck wasn't mentioned!!!-- I bought around 4 bricks of Crossed Keys from you guys a few months ago and really love those. Latest purchase was 9 decks of the NOC Pro 2021's from Penguin-- those are great because so minimal there is zero chance of anybody ever thinking they were marked-- but takes longer to read. So yes, moral of the story is-- I just moved to a new condo-- and 90% of my move consisted of getting my playing cards and all my other magic stuff I've bought from Penguin over past year stored away in closets!!!! Penguin== best customer service in the world-- that's why I'll be a life long loyal customer after just starting card/coin sleight of hand 15 mos ago and being bitten hard by the magic bug-- practice every night after get home from my office. Thanks for everything-- and I will continue to gladly give you my money!!!!!
Wow that's quite the haul/collection!
@@penguinmagicshop Ha!!!! My bad!!!! I meant to say 100 decks of each-- certainly not 1k decks!!!! My bad---- But still stand by-- Penguin-- you guys have the best customer service in the business-- always love doing business with you.
Can’t forget the Les Melies!
what with the "mint 2"?
True people complain about the duplicate, blank, and double back, and review it as misprints bashing the company
Sir please upload a video about "Top 10 Spectator Phone Unlocking Magic Trick"
Wait, is the penguin deck $40 now? Was this an error or is this for multiple decks?
They aren't $40. $10 for 1, $5 a piece for 12. www.penguinmagic.com/p/8474
Video starts at 3:30
Phill Smith is a genius!
The Code all the way. How can the Penguin Marked Deck be better when Nyman's is essentially that but much more powerful? And where's Delas Nite Flite?
We just posted the decks according to the votes they received on Instagram. The Night Flight Deck did not receive enough votes to make the top 10. Not sure why, but magicians tend to avoid plastic decks.
I might be missing something here....? What about UMD ?
This list was created by magicians on Instagram and it looks like they missed that one for whatever the reason.
Ah I missed that! Probably because most of them are too young 😅
Takes them three minutes to even pull out a deck of cards.
You forgot Patrick Kuns Marked deck

didn't know about Elites... god damn, this is genius
WHY WHY WHY do they always print the closest side to me UPSIDE DOWN???????? I subscribed to you so please answer. Doesn't it make good sense to print the side closest to ME right-side up???? Please tell them to FIX THIS so I can read it correctly.
When you read the value of a playing card the index is at the top. This is the convention most marked decks follow.
21 savage brought me here 😂
You only mentioned like half of the markings on “the marksman deck”. Do I sense passive aggressive hate for mr jermay?
Luke's great, he's one of the original Penguin guys. We love working with Luke. No animosity at all.
Love Luke, there are so many markings to go through on that deck it could take up another video. However, the product page also does a lot to tell you in more detail. Many of the marks are also highly specific to the tricks you do with the deck, and we were doing our best to stick to the marks people usually use them for. No animosity, just LOTS of info to cover in both that deck, and all the others in this video.
The marksman deck sounds neat, but you'd have to be blind to miss the marks, they seem a little too obvious.
