Tsai Ing-wen failed Taiwan on a major issue.
Taiwan Talks never broaches the unsolved issue of Taiwan’s undecided international status. Becoming Taiwan, the internationally recognized sovereign country, is an ambition, an aspiration, not yet a reality.
In the September 8, 1951 San Francisco Peace Treaty, Japan ceded Taiwan neither to the Chinese nor to native Japanese Taiwan Komins (皇民) who already deemed themselves Chinese.
Rest assured that neither the Chinese people nor the deluded offspring of Taiwan Komins who deem themselves Chinese will enjoy the sovereignty of non-Chinese, formerly Japanese and currently American Taiwan.
To become Taiwan, the sovereign country, Taiwan needs to drop all appearances and pretenses of being a piece of Chinese territory under the jurisdiction of a Chinese government.
Tsai Ing-wen failed Taiwan on a major issue. And she doubled down when in an election speech earlier this year, she praised herself for having upheld “Refuse Of China" (ROC) on Taiwan and strongly encouraged her successor Lai Ching-te to stick to it.
