He had a song so big that it was messing out all the mainstream artists so they put the digital charts behind a pay wall so you couldn't see them or view them unless you paid! He's literally the most independent artist out! He had a song called Best Rapper Ever that beat out and entire Eminem album! 1 song beat an entire album on the charts! None of Eminems songs charted above Tom's single song!

Yeah, you guys are quick to judge without knowing the facts which is what’s wrong with the majority of your generation. Tom has at least 50 number one billboard plaques and yes, he has taken number one from Nicki Minaj, Eminem, Cardi B, Drake, Tech N9ne… Etc..
He is the only independent artist that out preforms Nicki Manaj, Drake, Lil Wayne (all on the same song) every song on Eminems Kamikaze album, Cardi B and any other mainstream artist.

TOMS STORY:
Tom MacDonald is 100% independent! He’s had major record labels after him daily for at least 6 years and he turns them ALL down! After you listen to a few of his songs, especially the music industry and sad rappers, you’ll understand why. He writes all of his songs, makes his beats, and his girlfriend Nova Rockafeller shoots and edits all of his videos! That’s why dear rappers is so simplistic because they were just starting out really.
He dabbled in bands and had managers in the past, but that’s why he struggled so much and that’s why he wasn’t as successful as he should’ve been until he wrote dear rappers. That’s after he had cut everybody out and started doing things his way on his time with no middleman! He spent about nine months battling crippling depression. He contemplated suicide several nights and he was a severe alcoholic! After what seemed to be an eternity, he spiritually came out of that depression and quit everything cold turkey, not only alcohol but also marijuana and certain anxiety medication. Him and Nova could barely pay rent to keep a home after that but he stayed strong and ultimately wrote Dear Rappers which was his very first video to go viral, and the rest is history!
He shoots his videos wherever is convenient whether it’s in his own home, in his backyard, or in an alley! He will even go in grocery stores and randomly shoot a scene for a video lol. He personally signs albums ordered by his fans (for a short time with each new drop) and he also packages and ships the albums and all merchandise with close family and friends assistance hangovergang.com. He builds the sets for all of his videos! Also, he used to be a carpenter as well as a professional wrestler in Canada, he’s from Mission British Columbia. He spent some time in college but that just wasn’t where his life was going. He had some experiences with the illuminati, not sure for how long or what exactly the nature of that was, but I know that he left to follow Christianity!
The set for clown world was in his backyard l! He took number one on iTunes with “best rapper ever” beating Eminem’s entire last new album!! Recently he took number one from Cardi B on iTunes with clown world! He’s taken the spot from her to number one multiple times! He’s also taken number one on billboards top emerging new artist! He made number one recently on hip-hop Billboard charts and number two in all genres! He also charted on seven billboards with Nova Rockafeller and Brandon Hart which included 2 number ones with “No Good Bastard’s” and made it on 7 MORE billboards with “Church”! He also just got three number ones and several other charts on billboards with “snowflakes“, and 10 spots on billboards including 2 number ones with “Brainwashed“!! He also got 2 more number ones on billboards with Adam Calhoun “New World Order”!

***Personal Opinion on Tom***:
I think part of the anger Tom has towards the corporate music industry is due him buying into the message presented by rappers. He wound up depressed, messed up on alcohol and came close to suicide.
This is also the first song that went viral and triggered how he came up.
See “Dear Rappers”
He couldn’t pay his bills AND was evicted, living on the street until he went back and lived at his mom’s for 9 months, fully disconnected from the world, not even interacting with other humans, contemplating suicide on the daily.
He finally made his way back and has nothing nice to say about the music industry labels or the message they push to the mainstream. He will not compromise and had no choice but to be truly independent. His music is also his therapy for the darkness of the depression and anxiety - that monster never goes away, I know because I’ve tried to kill the one lurking in my shadows.
If you check out “Sober”, you will get Tom’s story. He is an open book and knows that keeping it 💯 helps keep the monster locked down.
His spoken word joints are also good for backstory.
As you react to more of Tom’s tracks, im sure you’ll seen why there are 3 groups of people that listen to Tom’s tracks:
1. The haters. Never gonna change and the #hangovergang will always just wave🖕🏽🖕🏿🖕🏼
2. The people that feel the same way he does and like his message and that he holds the industry accountable: See “Blame The Rappers” ft DAX.

3. We are people that have done battle with our own demons, such as alcohol, drugs, other addictions and depression. Many of us have even been close to suicide but we kept hanging on. We still fight our demons but we refuse to give them power over us. While Tom’s music is therapy for him, it’s also a source of strength for us. The thing that gives us the greatest power over the darkness is knowing we are not alone. That is why we are part of the #hangovergang, we will never be alone, there is strength in numbers.
Lastly, some things I’ve learned after flipping the bird to Death 3 times:
*: Life is full of absurdity. When non-critical shit happens (I.e. bought the wrong car part or the car part breaks), treat it is as an absurdity and laugh your ass off at it. That takes all the power away from absurdities. Things like dyslexia are also absurdities (I have it bad but joke about it because, well you know, it’s ABSURD!).
PS: If Life gives you melons, you might be dyslexic.
*: Life is a grand adventure. And, just like any roller coaster, there are scary parts and there are the thrills. All you have to remember is to Hold On Tight and enjoy the ride. Substances like alcohol and drugs don’t enhance the adventure, they will however, muddy the experience.
*: You are not alone. No matter what struggles or challenges you may face, others have been there. There is no shame in the struggle, it’s what makes us stronger, like lifting weights. As we lift more, we get stronger but, there is a time when every weight lifter takes on a little more than they can safely handle and they ask someone to be a spotter, just in case. The only shame in life is when we are trying to “lift” more than we are able, but do not seek help from a spotter. There are lots of people who are willing to serve as a “spotter” when asked.

This was my sister & my brother-in-law’s FIRST Fourth of July in America. We BBQ’d, played yard games and watched fireworks from my roof. It was wholesome AF.

Happy Memorial Day. Every day that I wake up in this wonderful country, I am even more grateful to be here than the last. Even amidst some of the most troubling, chaotic and divisive times - America’s true nature shines through and remains the greatest country on earth. If you can look away from the continuous negativity on the TV - you will NOT struggle to find good in Americans. Over the past few years, they have tried to paint America as an evil, privileged, ugly place…but that is a very thin coat of paint. If you look underneath, you will find the country that so many have died to protect. A nation that’s been a beacon of freedom, hope and liberty for so many. A place that I am SO proud to call home. I am so thankful for all of the men and women who fought and died so that we could enjoy all that America has to offer…and I am so grateful for the men and women who will continue to do so. I don’t care what the news says. I don’t care what the protesters scream. I don’t care what’s written on the picket signs. The United States will ALWAYS be the greatest country in the world. I took the time to watch your video all the way through and even though i definitely disagree about Tom i still liked, Subbed and commented because the guy with the black shirt seemed to be a little bit open-minded about hearing the song through and asking if he had other songs that were less in your face. The recommendations are at the end, I hope you read this through as it answers a lot of your questions about Tom, but that's up to you.
Tom is a very versatile artist so he's in his own lane, he crosses genres (influenced by both rap and Rock), his overall message is unity and freedom of speech (for everyone, even if they disagree). It may not seem so, but Tom has a really big heart, so he incorporates his own struggles (with mental health & addiction) into his music to help others. He's mostly known for his songs on politics and social issues, but he has a lot of other music as well.
He legally immigrated to the US 10 yrs ago. He is the epitome of the American dream. He pays his taxes here and loves America for what it has provided for him and his family, so he is very patriotic. When Tom moved here, he was broke, fighting addiction, and living in LA on Crenshaw with his girlfriend Nova. Tom had a mental breakdown in 2016 and almost did not make it through. He chose then to change his life, get sober and decided that he did not want his music to aid in someone's self-destruction, much like the music he was listening to led him further into addiction, partying ect. Tom fought his way out and stayed grinding ever since. He went viral with his song Dear Rappers. He continues to write his music, produce all his own beats, his girlfriend Nova films & edits all his videos. He stayed completely independent, does all his own marketing/promoting, signs all his CDs and him and his family package and ship everything. When Tom says he is the biggest independent rapper, he's talking about truly independent, rappers that have come up off of CZcams, and the line when he says "this isn't CZcams It's upper echelon" he's saying that he's reached mainstream level while remaining fully independent. Also it's happened more than once where he has had issues with the data collection company that counts and reports numbers, where they have refused to count his either digital sales and/or physical cd sales, yet counted them for Mainstream artists. Tom calls out the government and their hypocrisy and has absolutely gone against the notion that you must have a record label backing you, and the mainstream music industry does not want that message out, so that's what he's referring to when he's talking about them canceling the digital charts, and they absolutely did put it behind a paywall so you can't just see them anymore.
For a new reactor a song like this can be a bit much, this is one of Tom's "f**k you" songs to those that hate on him and he gets recieves a lot of hate. Tom is unapologetically himself, and that bothers a lot of people. So, every once in a while, he put out tracks like this that are much more in your face, but this is his way of addressing the hate. Tom has a very loyal fan base, along with all of those artists you mentioned (NF, Ren, UpChurch), which is why that person told you to react to these artists. All fanbases have some die hard fans that keep their favorite artist on a pedestal, but a unique message that Tom stands for is getting people to think for themselves, so #HOG who understand Tom's message actively engage in an open dialogue and well happily answer any questions specifically new reactors have, as we believe in the message that Tom is trying to get across to people. we do not expect you to like all of his songs and understand that people have preferences for music. It's just the unnecessary hate that generally isn't taken well. Some of us still attempt to reach out to see if the reactor is open to trying to understand Tom, his music or message. none of us are perfect, so there is frustration for unfounded hate, but we also can respect differences of opinion.
Tom isn't actually racist he just calls out things that people are afraid to, and because everything's racist nowadays, it's just an easy way for people to hate. If you truly listen to his lyrics, you'll realize it couldn't be farther from the truth.
If you made it this far, I will go ahead and give you some recommendations below. I'd recommend starting out with:
THE MACHINE- this song sums up Tom's political views, which a lot of people get wrong, that's why I recommend this one.
THE WAY I AM EMINEM REMIX- this talks about who Tom is and his beliefs (non-political).
EXPOSURE- this is a more laid back track, and it shows what time calls out in the music industry.
DEAR RAPPERS- this is the song that made him go viral.
and to be quite honest, Ren definitely requires an open mind. Upchurch does as well hw is country rap, so it's definitely a different sound. He has a lot of drama going on right now, and i wouldn't personally recommend it right now, but that's up to you. NF, you may like he does a lot of storytelling but can also be very theatrical and dependent on the song can catch you off guard. NF and Ren, I think, are highly talented, but I'm not sure from watching this reaction that you guys would like it.

Obviously no one know if they actually cancelled the digital charts cause of him, but he was regularly out charting huge label acts (he’s been above Em in the past and Cardi B) and after his last song was fighting for No1 they removed digital sales from certain platforms.
