Yeah; the post is 2 years old. However, taking a part of scripture and applying it blankly in regard to some mega multi-million dollar enterprises ('churches') doesn't fit. It's basically similar to stating, "Let people be taken advantage of by false prophets and pretend it isn't happening. Just drink the Kookaid and join in..." :D

When I was very young(8-9 y/o) I asked my ALC Pastor how I would know if this religion is something I truly believed in or if I was just parroting things the adults were teaching me. Pastor John Eleverum told me I should "study all the religions, sects & texts & find the one that spoke to me. That one would be the faith I was seeking". How many other in that position would do the same? Today, I'm very spiritual but not affiliated with any denomination. I prefer to do my praying as Jesus did. Outside & directly. We DON'T need anyone to intercede with God in my name. Jesus preached & taught outside. Is there anywhere that it's not a wonder of the power of God? Now, I find people who say "YOU'RE A HEATHAN!" for not belonging too & by NOT giving money to an overpriced church. But, I hold my own talks with God. I don't need to "middle man" my spirituality! I don't need my money going to a church building worth millions of dollars. But people that help people in need? To me, those that do that work deserve our admiration, praise, and money. Not ministers who feel they "need" a new $5000 custom suit each week!

Just a thought, if the authors of this video cannot get the information about the bible and authorship correct (over 2000 years and hundreds of authors, seriously?), how can they be expected to get any of the rest of this "expose" correct? I thank Jesus Christ for allowing me to see these videos and opening my eyes. I don't want to follow false prophets!!! neither I want to be making people rich when we can give our 10% to the poor and the people in need. I go to a church right now where before service they play hip hop and other kinds of music that make me feel uncomfortable. I also hear the pastor saying how can people make a bigger donation and God will multiply it, or perhaps today's service was about the pastor getting a tattoo if people bring more people to this coming up Sunday service, and if in between the four services over five thousand people attend the service 1) he will get a tattoo 2) he'a having two raffles of a huge tv and a mini IPad. I'm sad about all these things but at the same time I thank god for opening my eyes, because I find these things VERY WRONG!!!!

No matter how pure a movement in God's name may appear it's still ran by mankind which means it's going to fall short of God's perfection. What's more important is that we pray for truth to be unveiled & that which is not of God to be crushed in it's lies. If I judge such a movement I have to start with myself. I'd rather spend my time in obedience to God & use whatever blessings I've received through prayer, fasting, & worship to refuel the annointing in me by God's Holy Spirit & be about His calling in our lives. It's always possible to find fault in any ministry. Pray that the enemy would be cast out & that's those in a position of authority should be prayed over continuously. We battle not against flesh & blood..........yet we spew hate on one another allowing the devil's seed to take hold & destroy the very good that it was meant to produce. The great commission does not say go into all the world & expose & concur the enemy. If it were not for God's grace & forgiveness we would hate one another constantly. It's sad to see churches on every corner yet they can not worship as one because of mankind's interpretation over as little as one verse. To see churches hang there believes or 32, 15, 54, etc chapter & verses that each church declares as God's only truths. If we can't concur the truth that the Holy Spirit puts in each believer as a very simple truth of God's sacrifice & grow as brothers and sisters how will we ever become as one redeemed & white as snow. I'm not going to mention any names but I went to a big church in Riverside and the pastor used to teach their years ago but now he moved to a church in Orange County close to the beach little bit more affluent and then I found out that the pastor has a church in Hawaii and these people also if you challenge the leadership they not only will come after you they will cut you off they will ostracize you I know a friend of mine that wanted to just lead worship and a little prayer room and because the new pastor the old Pastor that left very Godly person but the new pastor that came on board and took his place at the prayer room did not want this individual to lead worship he would rather have women and young women and that sort of stuff going on leading worship and he actually got this young man kicked out of church and they blamed it on a bunch of emails going back and forth and when the young man ask can he have the emails they would never send him the emails that they accused him of in order to ostracize him from the church so This kind of stuff is going on in America just as well as it's going on in the UK the devil is on the loose and he obviously goes to church But from what I understand this young man is doing fantastic taking care of his wife taking care of his business and the Lord is Blessing him unbelievably so this young man could have gave up on God or maybe when done something worse and committed suicide but oh no he's doing fantastic in Jesus so thank God for the remnant of those that are truly Born Again those that are truly following God thanks to what Christ has done

I've always maintained that the 'falling away' in 2 Thessalonians would start within the church, and it's all too easy for people in these gigantor mega churches to become disengaged or fooled into thinking that they know the Word, when they may as well be reciting fortune cookie sayings... Are all big churches evil? No! The individual is responsible for making their own decisions about salvation, learning and living the Word of God and having a relationship with God (not making a wishlist to the invisible man in the sky - you may as well be 'praying' to santa claus otherwise!). Learning and Living the word is not limited to 1 day a week, go home - re-read the scriptures in your notes (I like to take notes and listen to the podcast again later, its how I learn best) within context - the entire chapter, who wrote it, what was happening at the time, cultural customs, environmental issues and historical/political issues that were around at the time - read it in as many versions as possible, plus any concordances you can access. I also have topics I'm studying in addition to the weekly teaching, either something I need to work on or something I'm trying to understand. Pray that God will help you understand, highlight things He wants you to work on, give you opportunity to learn how to apply it in your own life and ask for discernment to recognise these opportunities. Seek a mentor, someone you can be accountable to. You can do all of these things whether you attend a big church or in a church of one (not everyone has the luxury of having 2 or more gathered in His name)
The Great falling away WILL begin in the church. The lost can't fall away. They've never been a part of the family of God. But there will be many so-called Christians (in name only) who will fall away from the faith. When we see that the falling away in full swing, then the anti-Christ will emerge and then judgment will begin to take place all over the earth. Friends, we will see persecution. The body of Christ, the Bride of Christ must be spotless in order for Christ to return for her. The church in the west is a far cry from that kind of church. Get prepared. The church will NOT experience God's wrath, but we will experience HIs pruning and persecution at the hands of Satan.

Somebody explain to me the differences between the new Christian movement and the established Catholic church. Both are constantly begging for money, both have established "super homes" (Vatican anyone?). The established churches can no longer attract the youth movement and the numbers of Christian youth abandoning the established churches mean the "bottom line" for these churches is hurting.

I’m also going to Hillsong in Germany, and I can’t agree with all the negativity about this church. Yes they don’t do everything right, they make mistakes and sometimes maybe wrong decisions, but you can’t judge a whole church by this. Think about some churches founded by the state and what scandals they have. Here in Germany our church is filled with heart full, loving and kind people who love Jesus with everything they have. Yes we have these music. Yes we worship, but we worship god with all our hearts. It’s not only about sundays. It’s about following Christ at everyday and in any circumstances in our life. Our pastors preach the word of god with such a passion and if you don’t agree with them just read the bible and build up your own opinion. Our church wants to spread love and we want to live a life where others can see the light of Jesus shine trough us. Hillsong is a place where especially young people can find their way back to the truth. Not only because of the pastors or the music but because of all the people filled with the Holy Spirit giving their life to Christ trying to help other people to get up the right way. I follow Jesus with all my heart, mind, strength and I love him with all I’ve got. Don’t judge each other my brothers and sisters in Christ. Wish you a blessed week. :)
I hope you know that God does not require any believer to attend any church any more than requiring us to go to Jerusalem just to worship. Real worship is obedience, not singing and dancing. Hillsong does not encourage obedience but even if they do, they trash holiness with what they do.

God means that when you take the intimate time to pray and focus on him in everyway and ultimately ALONE! Jesus wants a one on one relationship with every one of us. It doesn't mean do terrible things in secret and he will reward you. It means praise him in all ways behind closed doors and through your heart and not just while you are in public. Jesus did not use the term "son of perdition" for nothing. The expression "children of Belial...they fear not the LORD" in the Old Testament is not there for no reason! When the truth is trampled in the streets in favor of a 'Christian' doctrine that supports and affirms the LGBT agenda, waters down the gospel or communicates a DIFFERENT gospel; and makes Jesus into someone HE IS CLEARLY NOT (a 'heavenly Satan Claus giving out gifts of eternal life to all and sundry, because they 'believe in him') then you have an ecumenical, new Age 'christian' population growth in the world that is now the growing base for the apostate church. If you do your research you will see that the Catholic church is worth over 200 billion dollars, Church of Latter Day Saints has a net worth of 40 billion dollars, church of England 7.8 billion, opus drive 2.8 billion and the church of Scientology 1 billion. The church of England are regarded as one of the biggest land owners in Britain. In comparison to these religious organisations Hillsongs income is reasonable. I have no links to Hillsong whatsoever and have not been a regular churchgoer for nearly 30 years so I come with no preconceptions of who Hillsong are or what they stand for.
Yes most of this mega church preaching is not about repentance and about sin , JESUS PREACHING AND John the baptisp is on repentance and sin Jesus said repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand . I am tired of this criticism. If you think he is too rich go start your own church. We should be concerned about the gospel, not his wealth. If he is not preaching the gospel then its time to pray for him because he is headed to hell without repentance. There is nothing in the bible that suggests Christians should be poor. I have been a pastor and we ran things precisely the opposite from Hillsong, but that was my choice. But you don't have to listen to Martin Luther's boring music to be uplifted in the Spirit. Call them hypocrites if you wish, but when you point the finger, three point at you. And you are misleading your audience by using pounding, worldly music that is not like the Hillsong music I have heard. Physician, heal thyself.

Pastor John Eleverum told me I should "study all the religions, sects & texts & find the one that spoke to me. That one would be the faith I was seeking". How many other in that position would do the same? Today, I'm very spiritual but not affiliated with any denomination. I prefer to do my praying as Jesus did. Outside & directly. We DON'T need anyone to intercede with God in my name. Jesus preached & taught outside. Is there anywhere that it's not a wonder of the power of God? Now, I find people who say "YOU'RE A HEATHAN!" for not belonging too & by NOT giving money to an overpriced church. But, I hold my own talks with God. I don't need to "middle man" my spirituality! I don't need my money going to a church building worth millions of dollars. But people that help people in need? To me, those that do that work deserve our admiration, praise, and money. Not ministers who feel they "need" a new $5000 custom suit each week!

Just a thought, if the authors of this video cannot get the information about the bible and authorship correct (over 2000 years and hundreds of authors, seriously?), how can they be expected to get any of the rest of this "expose" correct? I go to a church right now where before service they play hip hop and other kinds of music that make me feel uncomfortable. I also hear the pastor saying how can people make a bigger donation and God will multiply it, or perhaps today's service was about the pastor getting a tattoo if people bring more people to this coming up Sunday service, and if in between the four services over five thousand people attend the service 1) he will get a tattoo 2) he'a having two raffles of a huge tv and a mini IPad. I'm sad about all these things but at the same time I thank god for opening my eyes, because I find these things VERY WRONG!!!!

No matter how pure a movement in God's name may appear it's still ran by mankind which means it's going to fall short of God's perfection. What's more important is that we pray for truth to be unveiled & that which is not of God to be crushed in it's lies. If I judge such a movement I have to start with myself. I'd rather spend my time in obedience to God & use whatever blessings I've received through prayer, fasting, & worship to refuel the annointing in me by God's Holy Spirit & be about His calling in our lives. It's always possible to find fault in any ministry. Pray that the enemy would be cast out & that's those in a position of authority should be prayed over continuously. We battle not against flesh & blood..........yet we spew hate on one another allowing the devil's seed to take hold & destroy the very good that it was meant to produce. The great commission does not say go into all the world & expose & concur the enemy. If it were not for God's grace & forgiveness we would hate one another constantly. It's sad to see churches on every corner yet they can not worship as one because of mankind's interpretation over as little as one verse. To see churches hang there believes or 32, 15, 54, etc chapter & verses that each church declares as God's only truths. If we can't concur the truth that the Holy Spirit puts in each believer as a very simple truth of God's sacrifice & grow as brothers and sisters how will we ever become as one redeemed & white as snow. Easy to destroy and break down but very difficult to restore. I don't go to that church and never will but we all have to stand before Christ and give an account of what we have done in this life. Been a Christian for a long time and now at 67 I can tell you that I have seen the Lord work in almost any situation to bring those He has called to Himself.

I'm not going to mention any names but I went to a big church in Riverside and the pastor used to teach their years ago but now he moved to a church in Orange County close to the beach little bit more affluent and then I found out that the pastor has a church in Hawaii and these people also if you challenge the leadership they not only will come after you they will cut you off they will ostracize you I know a friend of mine that wanted to just lead worship and a little prayer room and because the new pastor the old Pastor that left very Godly person but the new pastor that came on board and took his place at the prayer room did not want this individual to lead worship he would rather have women and young women and that sort of stuff going on leading worship and he actually got this young man kicked out of church and they blamed it on a bunch of emails going back and forth and when the young man ask can he have the emails they would never send him the emails that they accused him of in order to ostracize him from the church so
This kind of stuff is going on in America just as well as it's going on in the UK the devil is on the loose and he obviously goes to church
But from what I understand this young man is doing fantastic taking care of his wife taking care of his business and the Lord is Blessing him unbelievably so this young man could have gave up on God or maybe when done something worse and committed suicide but oh no he's doing fantastic in Jesus so thank God for the remnant of those that are truly Born Again those that are truly following God thanks to what Christ has done

Whatever are Hillsong Church's drawbacks preaching that Jesus wants one to be prosperous is not one of them.
I've always maintained that the 'falling away' in 2 Thessalonians would start within the church, and it's all too easy for people in these gigantor mega churches to become disengaged or fooled into thinking that they know the Word, when they may as well be reciting fortune cookie sayings... Are all big churches evil? No! The individual is responsible for making their own decisions about salvation, learning and living the Word of God and having a relationship with God (not making a wishlist to the invisible man in the sky - you may as well be 'praying' to santa claus otherwise!). Learning and Living the word is not limited to 1 day a week, go home - re-read the scriptures in your notes (I like to take notes and listen to the podcast again later, its how I learn best) within context - the entire chapter, who wrote it, what was happening at the time, cultural customs, environmental issues and historical/political issues that were around at the time - read it in as many versions as possible, plus any concordances you can access. I also have topics I'm studying in addition to the weekly teaching, either something I need to work on or something I'm trying to understand. Pray that God will help you understand, highlight things He wants you to work on, give you opportunity to learn how to apply it in your own life and ask for discernment to recognise these opportunities. Seek a mentor, someone you can be accountable to. You can do all of these things whether you attend a big church or in a church of one (not everyone has the luxury of having 2 or more gathered in His name)
The Great falling away WILL begin in the church. The lost can't fall away. They've never been a part of the family of God. But there will be many so-called Christians (in name only) who will fall away from the faith. When we see that the falling away in full swing, then the anti-Christ will emerge and then judgment will begin to take place all over the earth. Friends, we will see persecution. The body of Christ, the Bride of Christ must be spotless in order for Christ to return for her. The church in the west is a far cry from that kind of church. Get prepared. The church will NOT experience God's wrath, but we will experience HIs pruning and persecution at the hands of Satan.

The music reminds of the hay days late sixties early seventies.. LSD plus plus plus those days.. (ecstasy and more these days..). Somebody explain to me the differences between the new Christian movement and the established Catholic church. Both are constantly begging for money, both have established "super homes" (Vatican anyone?). The established churches can no longer attract the youth movement and the numbers of Christian youth abandoning the established churches mean the "bottom line" for these churches is hurting.

I’m also going to Hillsong in Germany, and I can’t agree with all the negativity about this church. Yes they don’t do everything right, they make mistakes and sometimes maybe wrong decisions, but you can’t judge a whole church by this. Think about some churches founded by the state and what scandals they have.
Here in Germany our church is filled with heart full, loving and kind people who love Jesus with everything they have.
Yes we have these music. Yes we worship, but we worship god with all our hearts.
It’s not only about sundays. It’s about following Christ at everyday and in any circumstances in our life.
Our pastors preach the word of god with such a passion and if you don’t agree with them just read the bible and build up your own opinion.
Our church wants to spread love and we want to live a life where others can see the light of Jesus shine trough us.
Hillsong is a place where especially young people can find their way back to the truth. Not only because of the pastors or the music but because of all the people filled with the Holy Spirit giving their life to Christ trying to help other people to get up the right way.
I follow Jesus with all my heart, mind, strength and I love him with all I’ve got.

I hope you know that God does not require any believer to attend any church any more than requiring us to go to Jerusalem just to worship. Real worship is obedience, not singing and dancing. Hillsong does not encourage obedience but even if they do, they trash holiness with what they do.

I wasted my whole night to read her book, and i was not convinced much. It didn't change my mind about Hillsong, and the church in general. It is the same criticisms that have been raised against all churches (especially the Pentecostal and Charismatic churches) over the years are the ones she highlighted in her book. God means that when you take the intimate time to pray and focus on him in everyway and ultimately ALONE! Jesus wants a one on one relationship with every one of us. It doesn't mean do terrible things in secret and he will reward you. It means praise him in all ways behind closed doors and through your heart and not just while you are in public. It is solely to help you build that personal relationship with him and in turn he will know your true heart and give you all. Which in the end is the reward! Learning his love truth unfailingly grace and neverending forgiveness. He is waiting for all of us and hopefully all who are asleep will awake and find the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth! It is not 'judging' to name and clarify doctrines or public stands that a church or Christian ministry takes today which is 100% opposed to the written Word of God. Not EVERY doctrine or stand that Hillsong takes or presents is 100% against God, Christian faith or the gospel and yes, I do love some of the Hillsong music. However, if we are walking in the Spirit we are led of the Spirit and, when the Spirit of God says that something is seriously wrong about SPECIFIC words, messages, attitudes, or even doctrine in Hillsong's ministry or any other Christian ministry, we must take heed and be aware. There are so many deceiving and lying spirits out there now, gaining power and public acceptance -- at the expense of lost and condemmned sinners. Jesus did not use the term "son of perdition" for nothing. The expression "children of Belial...they fear not the LORD" in the Old Testament is not there for no reason! When the truth is trampled in the streets in favor of a 'Christian' doctrine that supports and affirms the LGBT agenda, waters down the gospel or communicates a DIFFERENT gospel; and makes Jesus into someone HE IS CLEARLY NOT (a 'heavenly Satan Claus giving out gifts of eternal life to all and sundry, because they 'believe in him') then you have an ecumenical, new Age 'christian' population growth in the world that is now the growing base for the apostate church. The apostate church is coming and it is to be led by the anti Christ (instead of Christ); for this to actually happen, many must believe they are saved and be part of a 'Christian church' but in fact the Lord Jesus cannot say to them: "I know you" because, unfortunately, they were never supernaturally born again by the Spirit of God and only THOUGHT that they were 'saved' often, because some leader got them to tithe and help in the ministry...but they have no actual fruits of the Spirit.

If you do your research you will see that the Catholic church is worth over 200 billion dollars, Church of Latter Day Saints has a net worth of 40 billion dollars, church of England 7.8 billion, opus drive 2.8 billion and the church of Scientology 1 billion. The church of England are regarded as one of the biggest land owners in Britain. In comparison to these religious organisations Hillsongs income is reasonable.
I have no links to Hillsong whatsoever and have not been a regular churchgoer for nearly 30 years so I come with no preconceptions of who Hillsong are or what they stand for.

Yes most of this mega church preaching is not about repentance and about sin , JESUS PREACHING AND John the baptisp is on repentance and sin Jesus said repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand . I am tired of this criticism. If you think he is too rich go start your own church. We should be concerned about the gospel, not his wealth. If he is not preaching the gospel then its time to pray for him because he is headed to hell without repentance. There is nothing in the bible that suggests Christians should be poor. I remember when Christians were ridiculed for being poor and today they are becoming rich and once again they are being reminded that Jesus supposedly lived a poor life.

I have been a pastor and we ran things precisely the opposite from Hillsong, but that was my choice. But you don't have to listen to Martin Luther's boring music to be uplifted in the Spirit. Call them hypocrites if you wish, but when you point the finger, three point at you. And you are misleading your audience by using pounding, worldly music that is not like the Hillsong music I have heard.
