It was so cool when he sang this song at a concert several years ago; he said it was not yet recorded at that time. Don't know if he ever did. I like to think he wrote it because of the fan letter I sent to him back in 1982... LOL :)
I commented on the tribute to a lovely name but this is one of the longest and most jazz-oriented songs they did.Actually when I listen to it again, it's unclassifiable. Just brilliant. I've got the Live Anthology and I'm glad they just let loose on this track. Utterly brilliant. Tom Petty once said his band was bigger than the sum of its parts, and that is absolutely true ... and then you listen to the brilliant contributions of each element and it's heaven. Tx to you all.

It's jam band. "Two Men Talking" and "Crystal River" (Mudcrutch) are two others in that style Petty does.
