In all likelihood, Robert Saleh probably isn't HC material, but like you said, Jake, he deserves the year with an actual QB. I personally think we're gonna be fine.
The only argument I can think of for calling Derek Jeter overrated would be his defense. Advanced analytics prove he was extremely overrated as a defensive player. Offensively Derek Jeter was a stud and you can't really argue against that. He also was a proven leader and winner and is a well deserved first-ballot hall of famer.
Defensive analytics also value extremely highly range for SS’s, which Jeter wasn’t great at and why the Yankees’ internal analytics had IKF as a top 5 defensive SS even though he was dogshit for us. Jeter’s defensive range wasn’t great, but he made every routine play and didn’t make dumb mistakes, which is oddly a lost art nowadays.
Echoing the other reply, but yes, despite his well below average range, Jeter was an incredibly consistent fielder at a time when routine fielding was less consistent than it is today. It would be somewhat analogous to an NBA player who shot 25% from 3 on limited attempts but was a 95% FT shooter.
I don’t disagree with being at the top of this list at all Jake. When you’re in my position and you’re a head coach playing in New York you should have that kind of pressure…. And that’s exactly how I want it to be.
I know what’s at stake and it’s going to push me every single day to try and get this group better in every area

The fact that Joe D wasted a whole year of our core stars with his Zack Wilson project, is a fireable offense.
Yeah he wasn't supposed to play I get it, so why was he number 2 on the depth chart? did he think Rodgers was gonna play 17?
When Rodgers went out for the season a back up should have been signed immediately, not doing so removed playoff experience for our young stars and now we will lose players cause - money. That bitter taste will never leave my mouth

Saleh is a good coach off the field he has to improve his in game clock management and referee management they dont respect his football IQ
I don’t think that I could endorse Saleh as a good head coach based on anything I have seen these past few years. Bad adjustments, undisciplined play, and bad early play scripting etc.
I am curious to see where he ends and Brick begins regarding the D and development.
IF Saleh gets canned PLEASE give Brick the interim

Seems like a super nice guy but he’s simply terrible at his job. Maybe being nice and being a successful head coach don’t go together. Only thing worse on the jets is the GM.
Of course he tops their rankings. Not because it’s true, but because antagonizing Jets fans is an easy way to get clicks
