- For young Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage), it isn’t easy growing up in East Texas. Being a once-in-a-generation mind capable of advanced mathematics and science isn’t always helpful in a land where church and football are king. And while the vulnerable, gifted and somewhat naïve Sheldon deals with the world, his very normal family must find a way to deal with him. "Young Sheldon" is a single-camera, half-hour comedy that allows us the chance to meet him in childhood, as he embarks on his innocent, awkward and hopeful journey toward the man he will become. BUILD hosted Armitage to chat about the CBS series and his role in the HBO show, "Big Little Lies."

I absolutely adore Iain Armitage. His success is so richly deserved - there could not have been a better choice for playing Young Sheldon. I'm a big fan of his dad as well. No doubt we'll be seeing Iain on Broadway too.

I pray everyday he does, by the way did you know, he made a deal with his mum, he can only do Young Sheldon as long as he is nice to people, and doesn't get stuck up, what a wonderful pact to make, so far he's living up to every minute of it- and fully deserves all the credit and fame he's getting.

My gaydar went off the second I saw his Broadway review series. And for those of you who think I’m just assuming, name one straight guy who reviews nothing but broadway shows. I’ll wait

Many people do theatre reviews, he's been doing it since 3- so are you saying he's been gay since 3? I doubt that- just because someone's having passion for something- no pun intended, doesn't mean they're gay, unless there's evidence of this, sounds like pure jealously and negative assumption to me.
Paul Johnson It’s an unnecessary thing to speculate on but he never said it was a negative thing. Also yeah he could have been gay since he was 3 or before. One’s orientation is from birth.

You are a hater, and are jumping to conclusions, nothing is put on at all, this is natural Iain, not covering up anything, I know it must be hard not to be jealous, knowing your life is pretty crap in comparison.
I had seen another interview where I thought this too, he seemed over-the-top like he was playing a role. But then I saw his youtube channel. He's been reviewing plays since he was VERY small, and he was similar even back then, so I don't think he's faking this persona.
@@echt114 He's not faking- those words are entirely his thoughts, no one is putting words in his mouth, if he wanted to be nasty he could, but he chooses to be kind and adorable, and pleasant, by his own free will.
