  • How an investigation into the final chapter of a decades old court case illuminates Neil Gaiman's secret Scientology history and how he promoted the Church’s lies about a tragic suicide for one of his most acclaimed works ‘The Ocean At The End Of The Lane’.

    The irony of Gaiman, is his story involving a nymph who is captured in the early 20th century and eventually sold to a writer. The writer exploits the nymph sexually and receives the magical gift of creativity and then goes on to pursue an otherwise mundane career choice. He then becomes a tour de force novelist whose every book is a number one best seller, but he's secretly living a very desperate lie.
    The fact that he wrote this brilliant storyline shows his hubris....however, just like in the story, his life of lies is finally catching up to him. As a guy who grew up in the 80s and 90s, the more I find out about his actual life vs the image he has cultivated is beyond sickening. Here's a guy that really has talent, but is a twisted and horrible person.....the very thing his stories warn about....yeesh!

      Nope. I came across rumours of him being a creep, but nothing substantial; nothing worth putting in the video. It's strange the 'bulletproof' narcisism popular and powerful folks get; Gaiman denied to me stuff that actually happened and was proven to have happened. Fascinating to watch Comic's Media avoid the story (at least for now). I'd guess the floodgates are about to open.

      @@comicssecrethistory3538 To be fair, Comic Book Resources have reported it but what I find strange is that outside of British tabloids on this side of the Atlantic, more respected newspapers here haven't reported it online as of the publishing of this comment - If it were another writer, I'm sure they'd be all over it. Check out the tortoise news podcast, where this originated. The first episode is locked but the other three are available if you just subscribe. Be warned - very graphic stuff and a very unpleasant listen.

    He always came across like a more pedestrian version of Alan Moore to me in terms of his work. Sandman felt like a rewrite of Swamp Thing in goth clothes

    • @comicssecrethistory3538
      @comicssecrethistory3538  Před 3 měsíci +3

      No point, he's very well practiced in just denying absolute facts throughout his career. I did tweet him recently, long after the video was made, in response to something he tweeted; I 'think' it was about the "Gaiman Foundation" having given away all it's funding to comic charities. I pointed out this wasn't true; only a small fraction went to 'Comic Charities' & he responded that 'this' was untrue. Better off asking him as such a 'champion of free speech & anti-Censorship' why he NEVER condemned DC Axing Alan Moore's Scientology Strip :)

      @@allowableman2 Nope. Set out to do something and did it; show how Comic's media's narrative deliberately doesn't reflect the truth in some instances. I would have done another ep if I could have gotten an interview with Dave Gibbons; but we did communicate and I'm happy that he's happy as things stand. The awful Ed Piskor thing almost got me back; It's almost identical to what happened with Latour and Bennett, but Don Simpson is blogging brilliantly about that, so I'm happy to assist him behind the scenes collating facts/Chronology etc.

    I suppose the question I would ask about Spawn was whether or not Gaiman took the paycheck as work-for-hire (plus royalties i imagine). If so, there's no case, if Neil is a man of his word. If it wasn't work-for-hire, and there's no contract, then there's a legitimate beef (Actually, I know one of the four writers and can certainly ask him). The irony is of course duly noted. I was published by Image briefly in the mid 1990s and Jim Valentino was an outstanding fellow. As for the culture around the rest, which I have been aware of since the 1980s, it's reach is long and vengeful, it has always engaged in the financial exploitation of the weak minded, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are deep ties to other programs which it mimics such as the psychological experiments of MKUltra in the 1950s. Deeply disturbing to have any ties to it, especially ones as close as you espouse here. I can't imagine after all the studies I've done in childhood development if there were no subconscious influences.
