Nah skia is used in flutter previous version now

The simple answer is yes. A custom graphics stack improves portability. Google is actively working on porting Skia to WASM, so that the same stack can run in a browser.
Flutter is working on migrating from Skia to Impeller, but Skia is much more mature at the moment.
