Sorry for your loss. The brotherly bond will never been broken.
Very sorry

Just an update for anyone who cares to know: My brother has done his second round of out patient chemo and is rapidly losing his hair. He has to go back into the hospital for about 4 or 5 days each session so he tells me what food he wants so I make up a care package and bring it to him at the hospital because the food there is pretty nasty. I am doing everything I can to help him because if he dies I want to know I did everything I could to help.
@@electronixTech I pray the chemo works! Stay strong and though you help him watch that you also take care of yourself!
Sadly, I am terminally ill. My little brother lived 7 hours from me. They wanted to put me in hospice back in August. My doctors have up on me and I had given up as well. Eric said he wasn't going to give up on me even though he had his own busy life to live because he is a nurse practioner? He brought me to Amarillo and he doctored me and found help for those in my condition. He could have taken the path of least resistance but he didn't and I am still here for now. He improved my quality of what time I have left. I asked why he did it. He said "Because you're my brother and I love you". I played this song for him and we both had a good, healthy cry.
So awesome and inspiring ❤❤❤.I pray your health continues to improve

It's one of the most fabulous songs ever written and rendered!! The exquisite vocals rank with any ever performed by any artist. No song has a deeper, more desperately needed message than "He ain't heavy, he's my brother." It's moral and humane expression of caring for our fellow man has never been surpassed. The Hollies hold a unique place in musical history for this timeless gem of a song.
This song should be heard by all haters in 2023 . Our world needs this now.

When I was in the 6th grade, we sang this song in chorus. I always loved this song, and believe it or not, a girl I worked with just did not get it. She could not understand what was so great about it.
Oh, and I have been singing this song for the last year, just by myself walking alone because I really can't sing but I love the song
One of the great songs of all time.
Agree!
Yes, i agree 👍
Yes. 100% fact.
agreed and i was barely two when this came out
Sung with feeling.
Having grown up in Father's Flanagan's Boys Town in the 1960s I walked past the statue dedicated to the story from which this comes from. There was a small boy who could not walk well and another boy picked him up on his back and carried him around even through the Nebraska snow. Father Flanagan ask him if he was weary from the burden and the responded, "He's not heavy Father he's my brother ". I think this group honored the story well with there music.
Yes. Boy’s town. There’s also a poster I’d like to have that says, “he ain’t heavy, Mister, he’s my brother” this became the motto for Boy’s Town.
"He's not heavy Father he's my brother ".
I read the story of this on world war 2 when the japanese was bomb , and a japanese child carry his younger brother who is dead already. G.i asked him to lay down the child because it was dead already and he said he ain't heavy, he's my brother.
That is a great sentiment for a song that should not create a division in our society, but a sense of unity. All Are 1=GODS MESSAGE.
Thank you you gave me the answer to my music class question!

Corkey that is a sad story but I have one consoling fact ....... Jesus said to her " Your brother will rise again "
Jesus further said to her " I am the resurrection and the Life " He who believes in me will live , even though he dies "

I have to say - one of the very few songs that brings on tears ........
This song hits home especially for us who had friends and family who were in the Vietnam war. Just young boys on the cusp of becoming men. Some of my friends came home, some not. If we could love one another as we were created in love, what a beautiful world this would be.Im 70 now, a widow of a retired disabled veteran. I've read so many comments and my heart brakes for all of you. We all have a story to tell. Jesus said we are passers-by, we will be with the ones who have returned home. We are in this world but not of this world.I pray for everyone to find peace and love in their hearts.
Amen. The TRUTH.
GOD BLESS

I have only one brother, little brother, but he was always hated me for no reason since i can remember. He lied so many about us while keep playing and taking advantage of me n my family. He is really weighed on me.., took me awhile to understand : no matter how cruel he was and he is to me, he is still my brother.. and the best gift God gave to me through him - is : i can experience and finally understand what does it mean of TRUE FORGIVENESS.. He aint heavy, he is n will be always my brother.. i let your approval go brother.. ❤❤❤

This song was played at my grandpa's funeral many years ago, I forgot about this song until recently when I read the back of the eulogy pamphlet from that day which had the name of this song on it. My grandma gave me the two they handed out on that day this past week because I told her that despite the pain his loss caused that I forgot which day it was that he left us. Life has been hard on me over the years since then and even harder in the recent months, but my grandma told me that we are strong people and we will always find a way to carry on.

My brother died on August 4th , 1986 from lung cancer, at the ripe old age of 37! I was 35. I’m now 72, but there is seldom a day goes by that I don’t think about him. He was a pain in the butt sometimes, but I wish he was here now. I love you Bob, see you in my dreams and hopefully be with you one day
This song reminds me of my brother who passed away in 1990 during an icy water rescue incident. The man was as fierce as they come, but would also give you the shirt off his back and could not part company without a hug and saying “I love you”. The world could use more of him. You can look up the incident that happened at Convict Lake, CA in 1990.

this song reminds me hanging out with my older brother as a kid, at the time I did'nt realise what he was doing for me, to this day I cannot forget
In March this year my dad got very ill with him having to go through medical tests for dementia and when he was released from the hospital he put the TV on and watching the music on TV and he ain't heavy he's my brother came on so I went home and rewrote the lyrics slightly. The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where, who knows where
But I'm strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's my father
… So on we go
His welfare is of my concern
No burden is he to bear
We'll get there
… For I know
He would not encumber me
He ain't heavy, he's my father
… If I'm laden at all
I'm laden with sadness
That everyone's heart
Isn't filled with the gladness
Of love for one another
… It's a long, long road
From which there is no return
While we're on the way to there
Why not share?
… And the load
Doesn't weigh me down at all
He ain't heavy, he's my father
… He's my father
He ain't heavy, he's my father
He ain't heavy, he's my father
