Great review thanks, would love a BB54 Monochrome or Blue, BTW what bracelet is on the BB58 Blue? Is it an Uncle?
This is a great addition to the Black Bay lineup definitely something that's on my radar now. But I agree, the 3 link riveted bracelet is the way to go in order to complement the tool watch look of this color way.
Also the Tudor Watch ID thing is pretty awesome it's nice to see the test results and it looks like it's much easier to access than Omega's results
Yeah Tudor did well here and I'm glad that the overall experience is more than just a new dial and bezel color. Yeah the 3 link works out nicely and the good thing is that the 21mm bracelet ends up looking quite a bit narrower than the 22mm version which was a nice surprise.
Yeah and the good thing about tudor watch id is that it doesnt require an app or any sort of sign up. Also I cant remember whether or not Omega's card had NFC but either way I'm glad METAS watches have all this info available to us!
God they look so much like Seiko. I like how the bezel is clean meaning that on other divers there are minute markers around the entire bezel. I like your reviews great job ! 🍻👍🏻
I'm sure you'll like the BB54 even more then bc the bezel on it has even fewer markings! Glad to hear that you're enjoying the channel!😁
While agree with the use of an aluminum bezel insert on the Black Bay models, don’t forget that you can also get matte ceramic bezel inserts. Not all ceramic inserts are glossy/polished. My Oris Aquis 39.5mm has a nice brushed matte ceramic insert, matte dial and fully brushed bracelet (I detest the bracelet with polished bits).
Nice review. Tudor is on my shopping list and this definitely is a good choise.
Glad you enjoyed the video! Yeah Tudor made a great watch definitely one of my favorites from them
Congrats it’s such an amazing watch. Great review.
Thank you, Tudor made an awesome watch! Happy to hear you enjoyed the video as well 😁
Beautiful watch and I really can’t wait to get mine. One suggestion id have for you is: why not simply buy the 3 link bracelet on its own. Then if you want to switch it up anytime you still have the 5 link to play with
I'm excited for you to get yours, its awesome! I considered getting the 3 link separately however I'm fairly sure that I wont be using the 5 link much at all after getting the 3 link so then the total price paid for the watch would be a bit too much. Unless I sell the 5 link to get some money back. That said i guess it depends on how much the 3 link costs on its own
As an owner of the 41Sub and BB54, it's hard to justify buying this one. I am curious to see it in person.
Now, the BB58 Coke is another story. I'm very excited to see that one in person.
Yeah since you have the sub adding this BB41 would be tough but if it was only the BB54 then I think it would make for an awesome duo. I'm still really excited for the BB58 GMT the color combo is great and its thinner so it should be a winner!
The Monochrome is the best looking Tudor yet. By a mile.
It's a fantastic watch no doubt about it! The proportions are just right and it's just so clean. Tudor did well with this one
@@thewatchidiot I don't always agree with you but this time, we're on the same team !
Bb41 mono looks really good. Reminds me of 14060m somehow.😊
So if it came down to a choice , would you choose the 42mm pelagos in black or the 41mm monochrome?
Beautiful watch. I got my BB GMT 58 abt 6 weeks ago and saw this watch at the same time at AD; both are great watches. Great pricing from Tudor.
HEY #amzwatch I have been watching you for years and im so proud of your achievements in watches.! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day
More I look at images/video of the monochrome the more I smile when I look at my bb58 on wrist. Tudors dial design in color looks unique. But in monochrome it looks like a sub dial got squished.
the BB58 is an awesome watch no doubt! But for me I'm the opposite lol, while the proportions of the BB58 dial are good, the BB41 Monochrome is just one step above. Glad they make both😁
This could be a tempting watch but arguably I have too many dive watches already but I can certainly appreciate your comments TWI. I love the monochrome but I also love the burgundy, I think the 'jubilee' bracelet looks at odds with a tool watch aesthetic as you mention. Omega also let you see the METAS test results but you have to log in to see them, the NFC card is much easier. The overall proportions looks great as well. Many thanks for sharing.
Yeah the burgundy was a tempting option i think i would have gone for one last year if it didnt have a gilt dial. The jubilee works a bit better on the burgundy/gilt dial version but i think if the jubilee was fully brushed it could have worked better with this monochrome version. Always great hearing from you!
Somehow, this is the most the most beautiful Tudor for me tight now… damn I’m so boring 😂
I own the bb54 and the bb41 monochrome sincz one month: I do love them both so much!
Both are awesome watches and make for a really great duo! Tudor did well with both of these watches
I have them both and they compliment each other perfectly.
The BB41 Monochrome ends up being its own thing so i can see how it complements other BBs in a collection!
How does the finishing compared to the longines Zulu time 39 because that has astonishing case finishing
The brushing is nice and the polishing is solid on the tudor but it cant compare to the particular type of brushing on the SZT and the sharpness of the bevel on the topside of the case. Longines did an absolutely incredible job with the SZT
I prefer Bb54 to this, but I wish a Bb54 monochrome, blue, etc, would be great!
Regards from Spain
I love my BB54 very much but yeah i think its time for Tudor to release some new versions of it bc I'm sure they will look fantastic. I wouldnt mind a black dial with a blue or burgundy bezel!
Really great review again. This channel is becoming a great place to return to. Talking of monochrome divers, could you share your thoughts on the new monochrome 62mas inspired seiko spb453. And could you then put the MM200 Gmt alongside for reference 😇
Thank you so much! Means a lot to me that you're enjoying the videos I'm putting out😁 And the SPB453 has completely slipped my mind, I've been curious about that watch ever since it was released so thanks for the reminder! It would be a fantastic comparison I have to start looking for one to bring into the channel😬
October 24 video "why I sold my monochrome" 🤣
They should use a matte ceramic bezel like the pelagos instead of aluminium.
I dont understand watches without dates. Why? I like datewheels at 6 for symmetry though
Alongside the symmetry I think it's also about the purity of the watch by having all the indices. That said I'm all for well executed date windows, I've glanced at my watch a few times to check the date only to find nothing lol!
No date looks way better. Also, quicker to adjust when you have many watches in the rotation.
Interesting close look. The new BB36 5 link has flat sided half-oval. Didn’t realise their was variation
Oh wow i didnt know that the other BBs had the more traditional flat sided links! Thanks for pointing it out, I thought that these oval links were just a tudor thing in order to differentiate the 5 link and the Jubilee
@@thewatchidiot I have the new bb36 and compared it with a new 36mm DateJust and the Tudor 5-link is heavier and more solid/substantial feeling than the DateJust jubilee that feels significantly more delicate and light (with a more proportionally heavier feeling head)
My BB36 is +4 seconds (total) over ~50 days wear
I was in rolex shop this week for try the oyster perpetual in black, very nice, but the guy in charge show me a tudor burgondi with the new jubilee bracelet, looks great, sincerly i was thinking in buy it,the best will be buy the tudor for wait the 8 month for having the rolex, but my budget is for one watch so i accept the damned wait list, but the tudor was here and disponible...
They really got the right shade of red on that one! Thankfully the BB41s should be more available so after getting your black dial OP maybe you can get the BB41 later on! Those two would make for a great duo😁
someone pls explain the hype of pairing jubilee, a flashy bracelet, with a black dial and aluminum bezel, a stealthy tool watch. i can get behind this watch on oyster bracelet, great competitor to P39, i dun understand jubilee on this..... it goes well with last year's red bezel, but not this. it's like wearing camouflage pants and orange safety vest
Yeah this watch on the riveted bracelet is the way to go for sure. For me at least, i like jubilee's mainly bc of their comfort which comes about from short fully articulating links and they have a bit of lateral movement as well all of which helps it sit very nicely on the wrist. BUT I'm not at all a fan of the polished aspect of them. It ends up looking a bit too dressy and flashy which I agree doesnt quite work with a tool watch head. I've got mine on a black fkm rubber strap and its looking like the tool watch its meant to be!
Hey man! You have great content but you never seem content. I gotta ask…is it truly the hunt? Is it the collector bug??
I speak from experience as the owner of a few Tudors and seikos and the like. Im always looking for my next fix but deep down I know my BB harrods (bought in London) and my blue Pely are all the dive watch I’ll ever need.
Tons of respect for putting your opinions and ideas online for all to see, but with so many watches are you ever just satisfied? ….asking for a friend….lolol. Keep the videos coming.
Ps almost sold my soul for the Sinn Hydro until I came to my senses and started saving for one lol
Lemme guess… the watch is surprisingly amazing and you’ll sell it in two months when the pelagos 39 blue comes out ..
All dat amzwatch watches sssssoooooooo gorgeous!
I prefer matte ceramic. The Seamaster 300 last generation had one.
yeah I agree, matte ceramic is overall the best. However theres just a special sheen to matte aluminum that i like quite a bit!
I really like that watch, but the ARC sucks. I'm really OCD when it comes to reflections.
Yeah I'm not a fan of reflections either so for me flat sapphire crystals are always the best! Then flat sapphire crystals plus great AR coatings is incredible i love it when the crystal basically disappears
I think the whole Black Bay line suffers greatly because of the poor AR coating. I am amazed at the popularity of these watches, and almost no one calls these watches out on the cloudiness of the crystal from poor AR. I cannot imagine spending a few thousand dollars on a watch with a milky crystal. The only reason why top brands are behind on AR coating technology is because not enough people are saying the emperor has no clothes.
I don’t know why having the second line of text being longer than the first just rubs me the wrong way.
lol I get what youre saying but I suppose another way of looking at it is that the bottom two lines are mirroring the shape of the two line at the top?
why is it thicker than the blue. really maddening
yeah they probably could have gone thinner, not sure if the metas certification has anything to do with it. BUT that said, surprisingly, on the wrist its not really that noticeable. Even side by side it doesnt look much thicker
@@thewatchidiot didn't consider the METAS. i guess its same thickness as aqua terra. i have both BB58Blue and AT and i notice it, but its not dealbreaker
HEY #mamacoo I have been watching you for years and im so proud of your achievements in watches.! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day
yea i tried this on and the polishing on the jubilee is too distracting for a tool watch with a muted bezel, this works better with the rolex ceramic bezels IMO. am holding out for the 3 link now.
I agree completely, wearing this on the jubilee is an interesting experience and I'm glad that I won't have any what ifs in the back of my mind! This is the most tool watch BB, so like you said having a highly polished bracelet takes away from the experience. If this 5 link was fully brushed then it might have worked really well
I've got mine on an fkm rubber strap and it's looking fantastic and it'll likely stay on this rubber strap until I sell this and get the 3 link version
At this price point, they should have used matte ceramic on that bezel!
I wouldnt mind a matte ceramic insert however theres a certain sheen to matte aluminum that cant quite be replicated by matte ceramic. Also gives the watch a chance to get ghosted in a few decades 😄
54 or monochrome?
oooo thats a nearly impossible decision to make! I think that they can coexist in the same collection bc they are quite different and offer very different experiences on the wrist. That said, since i do have other clean tool divers i would keep the BB54 since i dont have anything quite like that one. But seeing the monochrome go would make me very sad lol
I believe no man can say no to #mamacoo
*nah after you get the oyster version you're gonna flip it for the GMT and then flip that after.*
Sub'stitute.....
Just do a BB58 in this colour Tudor.
No dates aren't great either.
a BB58 monochrome would be a big seller for sure and Tudor really ought to offer date and no date versions of these BBs to give people a choice like Rolex does with the Sub
I appreciate it exists. I think it's pretty boring though.
I don't see the value here. No drilled lugs, no enamel or textured dial, no sappire bezel, no open case back, looks like every other Boring Bay. Better off with a Longines Ultra Chron.
The perfect watch collection: Rolex Sub date, Tudor Pelagos 42 Black, Tudor BB 41 Monochrome, Rolex Sub no date.
Aluminum > Ceramic bezel for me
Amen to that! i love the varied sheen of matte aluminum in different lights
@@thewatchidiot I love my divers to be more toolish looking and aluminum does that for me as they can scratch and fade. Ceramic is beautiful but maybe too blingy for me.
This guy will sell in 1 year and make another video
How can you afford to buy so many watches? 😂
because i sell off a bunch of them 😂 (I should add that the BB58 blue in the video is my cousin's watch lol)
I don't get it.
Can people who review this Watch stop calling it boring? It’s lazy, obviously you heard it from one guy he hears it from another you all say it! we know what we’re looking at. It’s monochrome stop using the word boring it’s a word that surplus to requirements the coffee man does that. Bark and whatever.
As a broke boy and actual enthusiast who wants watch’s prices to crater, mamacoo is a good choice.
I just got into watch collecting. I've loved watches since I was young but I never had anyone teach me or bring deeper into the world. mamacoo brought closer to a community and hobby I always wanted to get into more and that is incredibly meaningful to me !
I love this watch. My AD called like “No one wants this, you like?” I’m like no but let me see. I came in and slipped it on and fell in love. Wore it 30 days straight with no complaints. +1 second a day
It worked out well for you then! It really is a great watch definitely a sleeper and 1 second a day is fantastic it's always nice to know that a watch is consistently accurate. Hope you enjoy yours for a long time and in good health!
Where is this? And did you also manage to snag a discount? TIA!
@@navyankit mayors Sarasota. And I’m rich, I don’t ask for discounts. (I’m not being an asshole with that statement)
