When you think about it, Luke and C-3PO are technically brothers.
bruh. . . .
Not really, in the comic, there is someone waaaaay before Anakin, Anakin only rebuild 3po
@@PlaystationGamerZX it’s a joke. he’s saying that Anakin made Luke and C3P0. he wasn’t being serious lmao
Technically CP3O is more of a son of Vader than Luke. Because Luke is only half his father.
Me about to say "objection"
Me thinks for moment
Me continues to be quiet
“Alright shut up”
“Shutting up sir”
I love 3p0
Its C-3PO not zero 0. O like oh lol

@@treatwomenright33 who cares. I’m sure he knows 🤡
Take a moment to realize that Owen just bought back his family droid.
and he didn't realise it.
He meant 3cpo when he was gray and r2 when he returned with anakin and padme and 3cpo immediately recognized them even though he hasn’t seen either since he was a child but I guess that just a droid memory I get how C-3PO didn’t remember them or r2 since their memory was wiped after the end of the clone wars and the fall of the republic and jedi I guess that’s why they didn’t remember them so Owen must of thought if it were 3cpo and r2 they would’ve been able to identify him and all droids look a like that could be anybodys driod until r2 had info and was looking for obi wan then Owen knew right their that it was them and it would’ve been a waste to tell them the leave 1 he wasted so much money on the and couldn’t return 2 he needed for some sorts of work and 3 it would look to obvious if he told them to leave it would just make Luke more suspicious especially after clearing the fact that obi wan new if father and with their memory in tact they may not remember obi wan personally but could tell him what they knew about him reaveling that he was jedi or that they were with the rebel alliance im not saying 3po would say anything cause he’s a coward and wants to run from danger instead of towards it and doesn’t want to kick out I can’t promise r2 cause he’s mission was never to stay their in the first place meaning after telling luke about his stupid mission he would’ve left with are without luke accompanying him
@@americanlonewolf100 Well even in a new hope we can actually see another protocol droid right behind C3PO in the beginning of the movie that looks just like him, so it does make sense that owen would assume it's not C3PO since they all look identical. But yeah as soon as luke mentioned R2's message he probably started connecting the dots but of course his solution was just to double down on the situation which is what makes his death satisfying to the audience.
He never asked their names, so of course he's not going to remember them
Both of them in fact
For those who are wondering, the reason C3 PO didn't recognise either Owen or Tattooine was because he had his memory wiped in Revenge of the Sith
Plus C3PO wasn't gold when Owen saw him last, so he didn't realize it was him.
I knew that earlier. Because I'm Star Wars fan. And I know plenty about the saga.
Another neat piece of trivia is the other Astromech Droid is called R5-D4 and he is important.
The malfunction R5-D4 had was staged (By cannons explanation as in legends its slightly different.) R2 planned to sabotage R5 in his sleep (in Legends thats actually what happened but cannon refrences it). (In cannon) R5 wakes up and R2 explains his reasoning for the attempted sabotage is that he needs to be sold to save the galaxy by helping the rebel alliance.
With fleeting memories from his time in the rebel alliance himself that was wiped from him (This all going on before the deal.) He sympathises with R2 and as he was being sold to Luke lets the lubricant the Jawas put onto the droids get into his motivator and discharges electricity on to it to ignite it. Thus staging a malfunction to let R2 get sold to Luke so they can go on to save the galaxy at the cost to his opprutunity to be free.
In the novelization, Owen did find C-3PO familiar
Wiped like my memory of him having a silver leg
In Legends I always loved that the first line of Luke, the hero that woould come to save the galaxy and become the wisest Jedi master of all, is "But I was going into Tosche Station to pick up some power converters!" in the whinniest tone Mark Hamill could muster.
Character development is a hell of a drug.

1:56 Luke like alright I get it bro.
Yeah I think Luke felt the same way about 3po that everyone else does, he’s just too nice to say something rude.
C3P0 would make a excellent salesman, 👌. See how he convinced the uncle 👏
I heard somewhere the original pitch for C3PO's character was a used car salesman, and they only changed it after hearing Anthony Daniels interpretation as a worrywart butler. My guess is these lines were carried over from the original script.
still can’t get over how c3po has always had one silver leg - i just cannot at all remember it
What the fuck! I never noticed that.
it's just cause when you watched it on VHS on a 12 inch CRT television you couldn't see sheet.

Reunited and it feels so good.....lol
Truth be told R5-D4’s Motivator wasn’t bad, R2-D2 sabotaged it while they’re inside the Sandcrawler. R2’s programming forbids him from messing with other droids, but Leia instructed him to get the Death Star plans to the Rebellion at whatever means necessary & at all costs.
I've read that book too
That is a VERY R2 thing to do.
Forbids him from messing with other droids? Didn't be set two super battle droids on fire in episode 3?
I'm pretty much sure R2 beat a lot of droid ass on clone wars.
Everyone knows that R5-D4 was actually Skippy the Jedi droid and he caused his own motivator to be bad to save the galaxy
1:24 C3PO was literally going to leace R2 behind before the red droid broke down
Yea he had no problem with it
@Draxon that's his loss, I liked the fact that R2 was a trouble maker. Lol
@@treatwomenright33 well he's a Clone War veteran and his Original Owner was kind of a troublemaker as well
I read an interesting story once, about how R2-D2 got his name.
A few years before Geo. Lucas made Star Wars, he made a nice little comedy, "American Graffiti". (Which has a Harrison Ford cameo, btw). All the time he was working on the film, he was also writing "Star Wars". He kept a notebook with him, and would add notes or write ideas as they came to him.
For several reasons, when filming, the visual and the audio are recorded simultaneously, but separately. This is why, when the Director says "Action", the assistant says "Scene 6, take 2" and "SNAPS" that clacker; The "SNAP" helps them to synch up the audio in post-production.
During the post-production phase for "Graffiti", Lucas was working with the sound editor, and while editing one scene, the editor turned to an assistant, and asked him to grab a dialogue reel, that they would synch with it.
He wanted the second dialogue track on the second reel of tape recorded for the scene in question. In editing speak he turned to the assistant and said . . .
"Spool up R2, D2." (Reel 2, dialogue #2)
That caught Lucas' ear. He liked the sound of it and R2 got his name.
Maybe real, maybe rumor, but I like it.
Harrison wasnt a cameo in that one he was one of the main characters and at that time there werent many cameos
Perhaps "Cameo" is the wrong word, but Harrison's hardly a "main character". He only has a few minutes of actual screen time and really isn't even a "co-star". Ron Howard, Richard Dreyfuss, Paul Le Mat, Charles Martin Smith, Cindy Williams, Candy Clark and Mackenzie Phillips, THEY were the co-stars. Wolfman Jack, Suzanne Summers, they were important but minor minor characters. Harrison was more like a minor character but with an important role in a major scene at the end. @@Azact

@@Venitas1000 nah even at it's worst the sequels are still better than the prequels. In Episode 1 everyone except for ironically Jar Jar talks like a Robot and has zero emotion. And the movie has very little real connection to it's sequels. II has the worst love story ever shown on screen. Episode III is by default the good one but still has problems with dialogue and Anakin turning to the darkside is rushed. He says Mace Windu must live to Palpatine and 10 minutes later is killing younglings lol
*Totally agree!*

Is it the exact droid or just a droid of the same model?
@@zs422 its the same droid, im pretty sure she found r5 somewhere in tatooine
Thats actually Skippy. Hes a force sensitive droid. The reason why the jawas go to sell him is because he uses the force to try and be sold, but feels bad for R2 and C3 so he fakes a malfunction so they could be bought instead. Skippy was then taken to the mechanics shop and you can in fact see him in the episode during the mandalorian
And r5 is force sensitive rip skippy

1:32 - Luke refers to the red droid as an "R2 unit", yet the action figure was known as R5-D4.
Luke was country bumpkin, do you expect him to be an expert on Astromechs at that time in his life
@@youngmultiverser9311 Certainly not. But I do expect Kenner (the toy company that manufactured Star Wars products in the 70's, 80's and 90's) to review the movies their toys are based on more thoroughly and get the information correct when naming their products.
@@plissken2156 What? Luke made the mistake, it's quite obviously not an r2 unit
@@youngmultiverser9311 No wonder he wanted to fuck his own sister.
The lore behind that was that people refered to Industrial Automaton astromechs all as "R2 units" because of how successfull the R2s were. Its like calling tissues "Kleenexs" or southern people calling all soda-pop "coke"
I remember I would scroll through all of the tv channels when I was younger and just being so excited to see Star Wars show up because it would never show up on regular satellite tv. I would always sit and watch TNT whenever it showed up hoping Star Wars would come up.
Rip skippy we will remember you sweet prince
R5-D4, After witnessing Artoo attempting to sabotage him just the night before, explains that if he’s not sold, and fixed he’ll die. R2, although sympathetic, reveals to R5 that he’s on a mission to save the galaxy and must be sold instead. When the Lars family pick R5(Red), R2 speaks in binary to Red “you’re my only hope” Red then loosens the hinge on his head plate and redirects his lube oil to pool, and ignites an electric discharge and the rest is history. The binary R2 speaks as he passes Red is “I’ll never forget you, my friend”
I prefer the old version where r2 just sabotages R5 outright

When its time to get ready for work I feel like I have a bad motivator.
Uncle owen is my favorite , no nonsense , tells C3po to shut up and Luke to waste time after his chores are done...lol
"Sometimes " I think society is just too soft and we just need to be firm about whats needed.
Owen's behavior personifies the no-nonsense demeanor a hardscrabble farmer has, both when doing business with a likely unscrupulous machinery dealer, & seeing to it that the work gets done. I grew up in rural Iowa, most of my grandparents & their children were farmers, & I've seen interactions of this sort more times than I can count. The actor nailed it so well, I suspect he was no stranger to rural farm life either.
And so the Story begins!
I watched this at the cinema in 1977 with my mum, I was 9 and it only seems like yesterday. Happy memories..
The best scene in all of starwars for me was when R2-D2 told C-3PO when been through a lot of stuff together.
1:47 for all his tinkering in the special editions, George never noticed that the red droid is in two places at once.
This is the best scene in all Star Wars media
C-3PO had been mind wiped of his Tatooine memories, his employers from Episode 2 happen to be Klieg Lars, Owen's father and Shmi Skywalker...Owen doesn't recognize C-3PO because he was not yet "dressed" with his gold plating....he was seen working on a moisture vaporator. He always remembers his primary programming.
1:03 1:04 aw poor R2
I didn't realise the mistake... When Luke says "Uncle Owen what about that one". R5 is actually next to R2? But he broke down after moving from R2 towards Luke.
The red R2 teleports back and forth at 148
I love that R5-D4 finally gets to be the hero in The Mandalorian
2:10 C3PO's RIGHT LEG IS ACTUALLY SILVER?! wtf... I remembered it golden.
It was always silver but almost no one noticed because the gold reflected onto the silver and made the silver appear as gold most of the time. Lots of action figures have it silver now. Good eye.
While friendly, Jawas (Depending on the clan) were known to rip people off with what they sell, the red R2 unit is a perfect example, but most of the time the unit would stop working long after the sandcrawler had left.
Jawas are the crooked used-car dealers of Tatooine. It might be hot, & it might be junk, but if the price is low enough to be worth the risk, you take your chances.
His big moment and his motivator blows. Poor little guy. Glad he's with Mando now. He can get an ad venture no. Wm
I forgot how funny C3P0 was
1:27 The Force at work
“You can waste time with your friends when your chores are done”
R5 intentionally broke itself so that R2 can give the message to Obi Wan
3PO had to improvised by convincing Luke to get R2
Basically confirmed in the Mandalorian
I'm surprised that Owen never realized that C-3PO had worked with him 20 years earlier.
He properly didn't reorganize do to the gold color he has and how long a go it was
3pO wasn't gold 20 years earlier
Different color and a production model.
He simply failed to recognize C-3PO who had all memories of Owen erased following Luke and Leia's Birth.
I love this Scene.
The original Star Wars. Nothing will ever come close.
Based on SW lore R2D2 had a conversation with the other R2 and asked for his help because he was on important mission. The droid helped and overloaded himself so R2D2 could finish his mission.
Im glad R4 got his motivator fixed
Make me wonder howcome Owen and Beru doesn't recognize 3p0 when they've owned him back in Episode 2.

2024 still loving it
I was reading something on the tools of story telling and it talked about this character R2D2. It said that R2D2 plays the role of a story making tool called "The Herald." C3PO just plays the role of the clown. The role of the herald is that of a fore-warning - even if the character (s) (in this case it's Luke) are not consciously aware yet that they are in danger. Luke has stated that the place he is from is incredibly boring and forgotten - the farthest away from where the real action is happening. He is incredibly frustrated of his own stuck and boring life and even sees himself as boring. This apparently cute and innocent looking droid R2D2 comes from an entirely different reality than Luke. Luke's greatest wish is to get out of that place. The herald is a warning "If you see me as a problem, you have no idea what's coming after me - guaranteed to turn your world completely upside down" Innocent looking R2D2 is a ticking time bomb with the classic response from the Universe "You should be very careful what you wish for because you just may get it" - as evidenced later when his parents are killed - because of what comes later literally looking for R2.
R2's wheels cover some pretty impressive terrain
1:27 Another Droid damaged 😂😂
Fun fact: C3-PO and R2-D2 are the only characters who appeared in all 9 Star Wars movies
“Now don’t you forget this. Why I should stick my neck out for you is far beyond my capacity.” I love this line from 3PO.
