Daffodils are my favorite flower! Funny story: growing up, I had this neighbor who had a huge flower garden. Apparently, she tried planting daffodils bulbs by her home, but they didn’t grow. So, she thought that they were duds…. She took the rest of her daffodil bulbs, and threw them over the hill behind a pine tree in my grandparents’ backyard. We lived next door to my grandparents, and I very much enjoyed picking all those daffodils every April….🥰🥰🥰🥰 Thank you, Ms. Longwell! Your mistake lead to a cherished childhood memory….😂😂😂🥰🙃

Largo is developing quite the radio voice - tone and intonation. Well done on a long day of hiking. I'm sure it was extra sweet to have Will there to greet you at the end of it.

Fantastic editing, Will! And I really appreciate that you guys answer all my questions! Seriously considering your next year’s trip on the AT. but I’m not sure I can keep up the miles, and very new to backpacking, so we’ll see. I have lots of time. But I’m so enjoying your journey!
Would love to have you. We have decided to do a different part of the trail with the group as that part is way too hard and would not be particularly enjoyable. Stand by.
Dandelions, daffodils, fields -- looking like Europe again ; and looking like the Camino too, some parts of the Camino in France anyway, near the Eastern Pyrenees. Not our own species of pine though ...
BTW Will is awesome -- from this side of the internet, his work on the AT vlogs really shines through. The music choices are very appropriate -- Americans might call it different varieties of Country, but we call it Folk, and it's thematically brilliant.
Trash on the European trails and Camino Ways (and I've walked a LOT of them) always tends to be worse on trails that are shared between "proper" hikers and day-hikers & weekend hikers. The latter are more tourists or excursionists and perhaps less aware of the needs of the trails themselves. If you're up or out in places that day-hikers would avoid, there's almost no trash at all.
It looks a lot like Europe in many parts. Love it.

Last year while section hiking the Maryland portion of the AT, I met a mother/daughter team doing a thru hike. Daughter had the full backpack, mother had a small JanSport school backpack. Husband was leap frogging them everyday in a Sprinter Van along the way. "Working Smarter, not Working Harder" is the takeaway there.

Theybhad me walkong in the woods for a year and then afterwards they gave me a shovel and said make a trail. Not even a few feet was a snake. I had been walking thru all those woods off trail and didnt realize how much danger i put myself in.

449 miles in 27 days....I'm very skeptical about that. I've watched many thru hikers over the years and you are averaging 21 miles a day, with no zero days.
Kinda hard to do that right out of the gate.
@scottnajewicz6923 they explained in the video and I think in day 26 video as well that they were jumping ahead and will be going back to the Smokies in a couple days to do the miles that they jumped. So, day 26 they ended at Newfound Gap mile 208. Day 27 they started at mile 449 (jumping ahead 241 miles) and walked 21 miles. So 208 + 21 = 229 miles walked. 229/27 = 8.48 miles a day. Have a good day
