I've always loved Disco! in the Panic Room - the energy is immaculate, the bassline is perfectly groovy, and the lyrics hit so shockingly close to home that I'm always taken aback - fitting that a song which so thoroughly calls me out would have a video that calls me out just as much!
The bridge in Disco! is one of my favourite bridges ever, the way each lyric flows so perfectly and the momentum it holds is impeccable - the twisting of each syllable and continuous buildup of energy into that final chorus gets me every time! I just love the combination of a self-aware smirk and a dance filled grin that Disco! gives, a very worthy winner to the 2021 March Madness!
But this video? It's so good and amplifies how much I love the song! The comedic timing with the song, the attention to detail in the sets - there are so many hidden details and references that most people would never see, the love and care put into every shot is evident. I think my favourite little reference is the Making Up Words board, it's only on screen for a few frames, they didn't need to include that - but the fact it is there (and let's nerds like me scour every aspect to find it) makes me so happy. The video just oozes polish and charm, shoutout to the directors, producers, designers, actors, the entire team at Firewood Pictures behind the video - you did an amazing job!
