You could have just leaked checked it with an electronic leak detector, easy enough with a wide open, flat evaporator coil like that and saved the customer $$$ on the dye. Anything besides refrigerant and oil in the system is a contaminant.
Have you ever had to adjust the blower speeds on the dip switches cause everyone in my area just install those and take off do they kinda just do its thing?

didn't charge them for the dye, that's just our sop, manufacturer is ok with dye in the system
