I am equally so happy and so mad that I got into this hobby.
I hate this hobby. It is an addiction I can't seem to shake. it consumes my time and money like a leech. Time I will never get back. And all that I am left with is plastic rectangle and an eternity of regret.
@@mariokartwii6663 mfw plastic. Me n my baby full alu tofu84
@@nword3026 So you have alu keycaps and switches? nice!
@@mariokartwii6663 But seriously speaking, is the hobby really addictive?
@@normalguy7877 yes. Once u set ur eyes on another board or new switches, u will feel insatiable hunger gnawing at u, until u make the fatal mistake of buying and building another board. An endless, merciless, ruthless hellish cycle where many and cursed to relive
if 200 is budget i’m officially homeless
In the custom keyboard community, it is. you can build custom keyboard to match your budget though.
It really is budget.
Kbd67 lite kit - 109
Akko switches - 2 packs, 20
Keycaps you can get something on amazon/aliexpress for like 30 dollars, not including lube or other tools as they are basically with you forever so you can build a nice board for a 159, for a custom thats a steal
He said custom. For a mechanical keyboard it’s not but if it’s a custom mechanical keyboard then it’s budget
@@sajers and lube, a brush or 2 if you don’t have any and a switch opener if you want to lube your switches
BUDGET GANG BUDGET GANG BUDGET GANG P.S. You looking mighty handsome
oo
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa hipyo im a fan
Nice
Hipyo, I am going to make the best budget rk61 will boba T42 fit in a rk?
hipyo x hamaji (real) ???
Hamaji Neo: Gateron Yellows are the best budget switch
Akko CS: Hold my lube
To be fair, Akko switches are 3 pin switches, whereas Gateron Yellows are usually 5 pin. 5 pin is preferred to prevent keycaps from looking crooked. This usually only happens on the stabilized keys though as those cutouts are usually elongated and sometimes oversized to allow different layouts (plate included). If you were to use Akko switches on that, then you would be having to check the straightness before and after soldering.
All nylon yellows are still best I would say. They are the same price as milkies but definitely a fair bit smoother and the all nylon housing gives them a really desirable sound profile.
Yeah but Gateron Yellows are almost half as cheap
@@b3xr0bl63 well at least where im from akko cs switches are 20 cents per switch while the yellows are 23 cents per switch
@@bobbyportis886 Interesting I have to dig in more maybe I just got a really good deal
yo that half opacity thing at 2:12 is the most creative thing i've seen in awhile

@@bjholland8322 I got them though on the second drop before they did a group buy after
@@ItsTrain luckyy and congrats
The good thing about these akko switches is it comes in a box that can act as a lube station for the bottom housings, perfect for newbies who just want to try out lubing without dishing out the additional 10-15 bucks for a lubing station.
i just used bowls my first time lol
Great way to recycle the box as well
Lubing stations are not at all essential to try lubing
I can just make a lego stem holder because non box switches fit in a technic piece
Good tip!
It’s so nice seeing budget Keebs that aren’t just Gateron Yellows and still sound amazing. Great work as always!
I made my ~140€ board with milky blacks. It pretty dope
Imo the pink switches are better than the gateron yellows both before and after being lubed
@@Daniel-dj7fh i have a 150 kbd67 lite with carrot switches
I knew you were gonna use these switches eventually
I really needed this thank you! 🙏🏼
You can eliminate the Ping of Green Machas by lubing the top housing. Its definitely a steal!
This is so informational. This is a wonderful video for beginners. Doesnt drag on, and keeps the viewer encapsuled. Wonderful video, Hamaji
Glad it was helpful! Thank you so much :)
This video is a godsend! I’ve been trying to build my first keyboard, and I’ve been trying to make it budget! I even was going to use the ktt roses! This video was the review that I needed! Thank you!
you cant even buy the 67 lite rn
@@batmansteel778 yea, but I was looking more for the ktt rose review. I already have an idea for the case and pcb
@@vasubanga1040 those arent ktt rose those are akko rose, they are both made by ktt but they are different
@@adar7218 I thought that ktt roses and akko cs reds are similar
Same, what are the parts?
just recently finished a budget build with akko cs matcha greens and i must say... wow! They do indeed sound amazing (especially with some case foam imo). The springs did make a teeny bit of noise with mine too but that completely went away with lubing, so I can honestly still recommend them as the weighting of the rose reds is too light for me.
I like these kinds of videos. They're serious and clear about what they're trying to show in the videos. Subscribed ever since this video was released :D
This video is great, finally you go into deep detail and tell me every item I need to build. Thank you.
I like that see-through thing you did when pressing the keys. Cool effect
That really blew me away, really nice effect!
"Budget Build"
cost: 199
me: bruh gonna use some cheap ass keycaps
it's still a budget build
Yeah I chose to do a super budget build with a RK 84 hotswap, ymdk Pudding caps and some Tecsee Purple pandas. I had to buy all the modding supplies first time so my total was way higher but for those 3 core items, it was like $145.
If you can buy a hot swap Keychron for 80 usd. then buy switches form china for 25. Or if you can solder and have a 3d printer you can the housing and a arduino from china for 30 and the switches will stil be 25.
My budget plan was, buy an rk61 $65, then buy the akko pink ones $10, and I already have lube and a brush. Keycaps I found a grey and white one that costs $25. Total: $100
@@noobnub7305 you need to buy 2 sets
Love your vids Hamaji! You have really helped me scratch that keyboard itch. Thank you so much!
I love the editing job on the switch pressing, seeing the switch underneath the keycap is really cool!
I use Akko CS red roses and love them, quiet as hell. they don't sound the same on sound tests you really have to hear them in person. I'm honestly super happy with them. 10/10 recommend
The Akko CS switches are INSANE for the price! I love my rose reds!
Finally! You used the Akko CS switches I have been asking you to look into them for a while!
Great Video. Good Sounding Board. I loved seeing the Karambit Slaughter
It's nice to see something cheap and clean, good work hamaji!
@Caleb Aikin compared to most keyboards in the hobby, for a keyboard this nice, this is pretty budget, if you don't like the price then just don't buy it
@@jonlovesbagelsthis is still ridicliously expensive, the keycaps are 50% of the 200$ price.. Think about that. You are paying 100$ for keycaps and 100$ for the kit and switches and stabilizers. If you were to just buy a not ridicliously priced keycap set it would be around 130$ that's budget.
@@sinu9226 But let’s say that your using those keycaps and the keyboard for 2-3 years, and you love the board there’s no reason not to get it. Some people are into the mechanical keyboard hobby and in the hobby 200 or below is considered “budget” and if they are going to keep using the board and they love it, it’s not a waste of money
@@jonlovesbagels but they keycaps are still waaaay too overpriced smh.
@@sinu9226 so what, it's not like you are buying them, you buy them because they look nice and you want them, if you can afford them and you decided that you wanted to buy them then go for it. People always regret buying things, but if you don't regret it and you keep using the keyboard for along time it was worth it.
been wanting to pick up the Akko switches and I think I might have to after this vid.
if i can, i am DEFINETLY going to try to get the parts and build this, seems awesome. keep the good work up hamaji!
Great video! Love how you thorough you are going through each step. What would be some comparably priced cases to the KBD 67 Lite? (For those of us who missed out on the GB and wanting a good quality beginner board) 😉
More people using the Akko CS Switches making me happy!
Noice
Same Akko in general needs more attention
@@owwahow Yes I agree but meh. Idk if you know but they've stolen keycaps set designs in the past so although I like what they do, I don't really want to associate myself with stealing art/work
@@ditwii everyone loves clones and fake keycaps in this hobby, myself not included, i’m on ur side
@@ditwii yeah, i don't even see why, there are so many boring sets being made and making it past IC, they can just choose popular colors and mix things up and accidentally create something people like
Got that randomfrankp mouse pad🔥
thank you so much man you really helped me get into the hobby and find the right keyboard for me :)
very pog build
i love this type of style, please use more of this style
When are you planning to flip it for $700? I'd be willing to buy. Stan Hamaji lesssgo boiiis
This would be easily attainable if only these kits were in stock most of the time.
Like almost every other mech. Part
I am currently waiting for my rose reds to arrive, when they do I can finally finish building my first ever custom mechanical keyboard, I'm so hyped now that I saw this video and heard once again how the switches sound!
such a nicely put together video 👍
That keybored looks so clean for $200!
yeah except its not 200
more like 300+ right ? The case/board is 120 and unavailable, keycaps are 90, stabs 30, and where is all the rest. Even after the board is available this is 300+ and u better have the lubing tools already.
I’ve been watching these content out of nowhere and I’ve learned a lot.
And what’s embarrassing is that I never made or bought a new keboard wich means I’ve been watching these just to get jealous
Great video, those Akko CS switches sound super good in that KBD67 Lite, might have to try pick one up if they do extras for the R2
bro thank you. ive been looking for good budget switches. thank you
Me: looks down at my wallet*
My wallet: just end me already
I’m actually so happy you’re using the Akko CS Switches because I’m using them for my first ever build they’re on the way rn but no one has ever used them
i recently got a new keyboard for my birthday (huntsman mini) and recently also got into custom keyboards but sadly dont have the money, this really helped me with my options with a tight budget, thank you.
Got into the waiting list. Almost the exact build! Kbd67 lite r2, Akko cs rose and GMK Bingsu!
I did something real similar for a budget build for my nephew. Also used the KBD67 lite, but gateron CAP milky yellow switches, durock v2 stabs, and epbt charcoal for keycaps. He loves it.
Yesss you're using akko switches love it
oh noooo i have the matcha greens and i love them! great review! love your videos!
Nice work the board looks really clean
just the vid i needed
Thanks hamaji, i just bought those switches asap
i got so hyped when you mentioned the akko keyswitches (i love the akko blues)
I wished akko made more iso de keycaps, and that those they have were in stock
yo i'm glad you are showing akko products, people sleep on them mostly and they're pretty decent
the production quality is sick!
ur edits are insane and always shocks me
i was hoping someone gave a deeper review of these switches! Thanks! i do like the aesthetics of Matcha greeen!
Yessss, finallyyyy the akko switchessss :)))))
Ooooh that sounds good dude!
LOL i actually recently joined Hamaji's discord server and showed my budget keeb on one of his sub-channels saying that he should do a video on those Akko CS Switches, and he actually did it, im so happy rn
Very high quality video 👍
Those akko switches are brilliant. Finding out how cheap they are is just a bonus!
Dang, its always a good day when hamaji uploads a budget kb video
Tysm for this build I think I will make one myself if I can with my budget
That transparent hand and keycap for comparisons is brilliant!
I’m truly happy that I found the Keychron Q1-Knob. I can game on PC, switch to Mac functionality for programming/workspace, & modify everything from components to key binds. It’s everything I need and want.
those sound amazing, more budget builds!
Finally, somebody big in the community reviews the Akko switches they are surprisingly amazing for sure!
I needed this
Very happy to have another member in the akko switch gang
finally CS switches! theyre amazing for the price
Definetely gonna get this one. :))!! would have liked to see the Greens Lubed tho
FINALLY he reviews the akko switches, the rose reds feel and sound way better than gateron yellows so I recommend getting them instead of yellows
Akko switches are amazing. I got a pack of lavenders for my osu simpad and they are buttery smooth and make tapping in the game so nice. When my parts start coming in for my keyboard build I'll make sure to give lubing them a shot.
My cs matchas arrived today and bruh they sound so nice :)
Tried both Matcha Green and Ocean Blue and my thoughts are pretty great. With Ocean Blue, seems like you have to tuning the leaf in order to make it sound properly. Mine getting trouble sound pinging. And I have to use a bit of Trybosis on the leaf in order to make it muted lol. About the Matcha+Pink variants, they have a long stem pole so it'll make the sound signature a little bit thock+ not having trouble with north facing LED board. Tried on my Keychron K6 and it sounds perfect
Also about opening the swithches, if you don't have Kailh's switch opener, you can still use you finger nail/some tweezers which have a non sharpening head to open it. Not too hard since the clamping force on both sides of the switches are pretty light.
Akko switches are a godsend! So good for so cheap.
I’ve had Akko switches for a month or two and I love them
So happy to receive my KBD67 lite. First (and hopefully my last) custom keyboard. Pretty happy with the price
dude , this is clean af
Bro this sounds amazing af and you see me with putting some ocean blues in a red dragon k552
I remember you commenting on some video saying how clean the switches are. They sure are clean AF.
you can also try out akko vintage whites at the same price of matcha greens rose reds and it sounds pretty good for a budget linear switch
Def one of the best. I'm rocking a white 67 lite with akko rose pinks and gmk wob from Amazon. Love it but waiting for some GB. Who knows when that will be. I did leave the stock stabs even tho I lubed the housings.
i'm now using akko cs matcha green, lubed them and the sound is deep thocc. and yes they are smooth
Akko switches are so legit for the price. Have lubed CS Blues in my GMMK Pro. Can't complain.
Finally, hamaji using akko cs
Well done, bro!
i got gok bow recently too. just as a basic backup set plus i needed white spacebars for arisu. i was surprised how large the legends were though lol
This is hobby has led me to procrastination because sound test are just too satisfying
I LOVE YOUR CONTENT
You should review the HUANO Smoky White Advanced Tactile switch! They seem like extremely good budget tactile switches
Hey, could you do a budget build video about the Idobao ID67 in the future?
Really love your videos. The video quality is superb as always!
I put some Akko CS Ocean Blues in my Redragon K530 and what an improvement from the stock Outemu Browns.
akko cs' are really underrated in my opinion, they're one of my favorite switches
those akkos clean af
it’s a good day when daddy hamaji posts
Hey, does anyone know where I can find nordic keycap sets? I've been searching for some but haven't been finding any...
Wow that thocc is actually insane for the price
finally some cs switches
Ahh yes finally hamaji reviewed the akko cs
Everyone and their dogs are getting Akko CS Switches! It's mental!
I mean they are too good for the price! Great for budget build seekers. So far I have tried the Matcha green & ocean blue. I must say, they are amazing to type on! Still waiting for the CS Rose pink and another set of all. The best part is they also fit in items hot-swap sockets, so KB's like RAKK Lam-Ang or Regragon would be more viable now.!
