  • Radhanath Swami is a Vaishnava sanyassin (a monk in a Krishna-bhakti lineage) and teacher of the devotional path of Bhakti-yoga. He is author of The Journey Within, which explores the path of Bhakti. His teachings draw from the sacred texts of India such as The Bhagavad-gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, and Ramayana, and aim to reveal the practical application of the sacred traditions, while focusing on the shared essence which unites apparently disparate religious or spiritual paths. Radhanath Swami is one of my favorite of teachers. This was awsome. I could feel you CJ plugging into his divine compassion. You asked him all the questions I would have asked. I think I have learned over the last fourty years of my spiritual journey to more gracefully hit those down times. But I remember taking them so seriously and believing that I just sucked at this stuff! But wanting the love and compassion in my life so badly always got me back up on that horse again. Love you!

Thanks so much for your comment. I'm so glad that you could relate to the question. I'm far from grace in hitting these areas. I was shocked that it brought tears to my eyes. Love you too :) Thanks for your support. It means a lot.

Traditional yoga is not what is done in the studios. Physical yoga is a tiny part of yoga.

This is a wonderful discussion. I feel your challenges CJ. I’m wondering where you are at now in your journey? I’m am early in my spiritual awakening or journey. I have surrendered to the higher power. I hear you when you are talking about the daily struggles and challenges of “normal” life. I now under that each challenge during the day is opportunity and grace from God. I can only grow from challenges. I Pray and meditate daily and often. The more I work the spiritual process the more I understand and the less I struggle. Meditate and find the true self. Love to you and the wonderful Swami

Good Q & A. I really liked his reference to the new born baby, instinctively the baby cries out for its mother. Now if only in my times of distress I instantly cry out for Krnsa, things would be oh so different. Im learning and growing, slowy but surely.

Total surrender means you are in total love and protection of God. It should be an easy thing once you truly decide to do it. Surrender

With respect and love, I allow myself to share with you my feeling CJ:
I felt a heart block, a receiving Block in you my dear... I feel you could feel more ease and thriving if you heal the shame of receiving (divine love). You are brave enough for asking, but it doesn't feel like you are really EMOTIONALLY convinced that you deserve it ...
Maybe I am projecting, maybe you have already heal that since when, but maybe it will still help someone ... I hope so! 🙏💝🙏

Thanks CJ, good questions, but my feeling is, he didn't answer the questions directly from his own experience(CJ asked how he would deal with a specific situation), instead he always referred to Scriptures and principals. I would learn more from one's experience than principal kind of talking.

I understand. It's my preferred way too, but some times folks don't communicate that way. I still remember his energy. That was most memorable to me. He was Soooo calm and loved how he laughed at everything.

Lamoda, this was a nice point you mentioned. I am not his student but my understanding is that, generally great souls are trying to talk based on the teachings of the scriptures and their spiritual masters, because when we teach our own experiences it is mixed with our stuff. So this is a sign of commitment in a yogi to keep the truth as it is, otherwise it would be faded and manipulated and mislead after a while. I am sure that side which you are mentioning is also important and the question could be asked with mentioning what is your personal experience, then they share their experience. He already has two books out and you can read all about his personal experiences. With love and respect :)

there are also other ways to yoga(union) our atman ( soul) to Brahman(supreme soul).i.e. raja yoga(astanga yoga),jyana(knowledge) yoga, karma(action) yoga.bhakti (devotion) yoga love doesn't make sense to logical person but result is same ecstasy.
