for dissension its not that but the guy we see at the start is actually depressed because miki (his charizard) died during a trade, while they were trading pokemons, an error appeared and his charizard died. she then never played pokemon again and killed his brother out of anger and revenge for miki (and the reason of the trade was for his brother to complete the pokedex. and it was on pokemon red and blue i think?)

They live in a tiny ass ball when not needed, are made to fight at risk of death and In tournaments that are definitely child friendly dog fights and they could absolutely kick human as*.
