Crossout is heading a weird direction with so many "unplanned" changes that get thrown our there like McDonalds at the Drive Thru. But yeah, the Devs listen to all the kids that cry on reddit. Ppl who played the game for 2 hours but didnt afford a blue part yet and then complain about everything they dont know how to play against it.

The steppe spider change is so bad. It's forcing a weapon type on it that people did not use. As someone with fuzed Steppe, I just get a useless cab now.
Same here. They should have made legs go 50k and just kept the steppe as it was. So legs would go 60.
@@coreygrieb5073 Agreed, all of my steppe spider builds will be completely useless now. Cyclones, reapers, typhoons, etc…as if those weapons weren’t already trash after this garbage update. Devs just keep on disappointing like usual.
the ripper frame damage % change, its because its damage got changed from bullet to melee, frames have 50% melee resist, against the ripper thats where the 70% change comes into play
oh and the piercer change was very much needed, tho i think its still better to buff fidget and other special and rare weapons instead of nerfing the few good ones
if you pay attention the last few updates and balance patches all had nerfs to the low end of rare and special tier items, no wonder one or two are "overperfoming" those are the only ones to not get nerfed
Bruh, The "Steppe spider" cabin is not even "Steppe" anymore...
You shouldn't be worried about these updates the updates you should be worried about are the ones that they don't tell you about like the weapon buff after season ends or they really Nerf the s*** out of structure because 15K feels like paper
As a player who moved to legs after the update I'm very excited to see my 23ton spider run at 50km/h
Ermak, Kami, Varuns and Piercers probably deserved a nerf.
The omamori was OK and the oppressor was more than OK.
One thing that definitely needs to be removed is the wedge prevention power penalty when you come into conduct with dead enemies. It's too annoying to be so stuck after a kill when playing at close range

Not really though. I agree, at close range, they're a bit like a shotgun. A lot of damage in a short period of time. But as soon as there's some distance between you and the enemy, there's a lot of spread. You're better off with a Sinus-O then...

with all of these I get mad.
With the spider especialy I kill people who get under me (enemy wedges) and then drag their dead car around, flaming and blocking my view. I have a grinder under me for defense and this happens far more often than what you might imagine, sometimes more than 2 per match. Basicaly I have to constantly be scoped in to see what Im aiming at because of the smoke.
I defenetly support the changes on the Varun, its hard they do it after ppl spend so much coins fusing them. But ppl have seen such things before, so you always have to take the risk. I think the change to the Tsunami Perk took WAY to long, but im happy its finally there. Aegis seems ok to me too since we have so many other Support modules that only take 2 Energy aswell and also it gets slightly less effective. The Oppressor change shouldnt be implemented. All the other changes dont seem that massive to me.
Makes me wonder if they have a new cab or module in the works that will improve rotation speed on weapons seeing how they hit the oppressor and caucuses like that. the Oppressor change is likely to counter the effectiveness of Kaukasus/cannon bananas.
MLs beeing buffed makes them actually 5kph faster than bigrams in leg mode, which is really nice
although I love my Piercers, I get the nerf kinda, because replacing 3 piercers with fidgets increases your PS by 1k, so it is possible to play higher DPS-rapidfire machinegun builds still. I just need to get them first, and grinding isn’t fun :/
Steppe Spider should make MLs deal melee damage, like meat grinders.
Omamori makes sense, ig.
Kami is actually planned to be nerfed; what they say is that heavier Kami-hovers should accelerate slower now
Regarding Icarus VII, hovers are supposed to be maneuverable, yet easy prey if hit. if you want flying tanks with less speed, use Icarus IV, please.
The Ermak and Varun Changes were needed, I agree with the timing thing beeing bad, but I got used to that behavior. I‘d like to ask why Ermak is god-fuse, as I‘d prefer resistance. fusing it for resistance kinda makes it have the old perk in the way damage resistance is calculated.
I‘d like to point out that dazes don‘t affect heavier builds that much, so eg. a bastion goblin/gremlin tank with daze works quite nice, esp. against doggos.
Regarding the counter for hovers existing, a game should never be balanced in a way that you have to hope for a counter to be in your team, or otherwise be screwed. Could be simplified to rock/paper/scissors, discarding the combat and just instantly showing a defeat-screen if no hover-counters are matched in your team if that’s what’s desired.
Rippers make bullet-damage rn, which frames have 90% passtrough for, yet frames only have 50% melee resistance, which explains why they nerfed the damage towards frames while changing their damage type to melee.
Did some in depth math with friends on resistances and for cab fusion, dura basically always wins. Resist wins slightly if there is no other source of resist but if you start stacking resists (such as with grizzly or with ermak perk) then dura wins every time. The more total resist%, the more dura fuse is effective.

the red hoverfeel like the blue hovers. low to the ground, table and only top speed of 75. That's why they gave the option to trade them. the blue hovers are a completely new movement part

Opressor nerf is bad
Yes the Varun is really powerful, but it comes at a price. 7 energy means you can't really have anything else with it, you need the omamori and probably best have a good engine. So no cloak or kapkan or dopplar etc, it's basically a specialist build. It also requires a bit of skill to use effectively.
And yes, these devs are scummy making these changes after a fusion event, they've done it plenty of times before, but we never learn.
I think Most of that "skilled Players" with perfect Timing are simply Mouse macro Users and violating the Game Rules...
@@andreaswohn5162 i don't think you played corvos or varun before ... these kind of weapons are working really bad with a macro because it's extremely hard to predict a timing that is automatic and shoots when you don't want to, but most importantly -> the server ping makes your fire rate slower with these weapon types
@@andreaswohn5162 and tbh you kinda need to be mentally disabled to not be able to not get the timing of these weapons when you play them in a constant basis, it's almost like when you listen to a song you like a lot : you know when the next beat will come because the rythm is stuck in your brain ...
The Ermak change is probably a good idea. And it's awesome that Ripper basically became a long-distance melee weapon. Omamori change makes no sense though... I thought its effectiveness compared to Averter was already factored into its power score. I also agree the Varun change is a bad bait-and-switch.
The problem with making changes based on player feedback is that it's untrustworthy. The game is ultra-competitive and most people don't have unlimited funds or grinding time to buy & upgrade weapons. Whatever weapons they've scrapped together, they're going to want to want that weapon to have an advantage over others. Even if the game were entirely free, they might prefer a certain weapon. I agree they should ask you and other content creators because you really care about the game and are unbiased. But seems like the devs actually are doing data analysis on match outcomes to balance things out.
The omamori is…fine in regular pvp, but in cw where you aren’t filtered by ps it was pretty broken, makes many weapons very hard to destroy.
No OMAMORI! Now that means, all my builds will be fragile!
A game should never balance things based on content creators. Whats going to be more detrimental to a game, balancing over 500,000 players opinions or over 10 players. It's completely more one sided and imbalanced if it's left to content creators.
@@jb8478 Good point. Balance is a hard problem and it would probably help a lot if they would publish something about their processes and formulas for balancing. They need to create trust in the community around it

Well, I often play at around 6k ps and about half of the build you face are wedge piercers(wich are actually way too good)
I hate wedges. Unskilled losers who lack originality!

After the last updates to hovers loads of guys who i have played with for years have now left the hovers feel horrible

Cheers for that, hope they do buff the ghost cabin like that, work's really well with stillwinds sniping, and jay as driver, damage is great, and strip's weapons fast from afar lol, and as for hovers, they didn't need to change anything, as they are now is good
Every weapon besides relics have a certain ps they perform well at. That's the whole point in building for a certain ps.
I'm happy about the ml 200 change and the crossbow change, but the caucus one is dumb it's already a bad weopen and it's rotion speed is so slow.
Fu.ck targem. I wasted so many coins getting fused ermak, and two fused Varun, that cost around 1860 each. I also spent a lot of coins fusing Icarus VII instead of IV. I just bought an aegis yesterday after selling mine a while back. This planned change is a massive negative to me.
On Xbox ermak sells for 4000. Varoons for 900.

The hovers were perfect with the form factor and placement change. I hated the sideways hover meta. But they couldn't leave well enough alone and had to mess with stats. Now steppe spider might as well be sold off before the change.

I got so mad after reading the update.I just invested in piercers and an ermak.Also only got the battle pass for the omamori and the kami, also was planning in investing some coins in some kauks/opressor and now everything i got in the last month and was wanting to get probably will get nerfed....I suck at grinding and optimizing builds so i was hoping by getting some of the parts by buying BP and packs so i will have some options to get better builds which compensate for my lack of skill but as i see probably will be a pay to be a noob forever :D.
My fuzed Aegis Pun hover finna be OP with ANOTHER ENERGY. I can add an ACTUAL ENGINE if this goes through.

Caucases are easy to counter. They are massive and literally can only aim for the cabin. You can have your weapons completely exposed and it still beat a caucase build pretty easily, as long as you have some durability.
Also I'm not mad about the hover nerf. I wish they'd Nerf the top speed instead of the tonnage, but they're not impossible to counter even with their insane speed. Explosives work great, and so do cannons. Flash's also make them way less agile, making them easy(er) to kill with almost any type of weapon. But, if you really hate hovers that much, I'd suggest a hadron with either Fatman's, mammoths, or an avalanche. Now it's great with mammoths and Fatman's, but fighting hovers with an avalanche hadron is a bit different. Since the shell is so heavy and slow, it's difficult to hit hovers, especially fast moving ones. So I'd only suggest the avalanche hadron build to those skilled enough to use it. I've been using it for months now and I still get my butt kicked from time to time by a speedy hover.

I purposely stayed away from the catalina and the verun because I've been playing for long enough now to know how they release and change new parts (very scummy in my opinion), but I have just purchased the spider cabin thinking na it won't get nerfed lol, , I'm sure gajin look at my account to see what I just bought before making any changes lol 😒👊

I'm glad the ripper got a buff because i love the look and idea of the weapon and i'll love seeing more of it in game.
I been out of crossout for probably a year now. I just can't deal with constantly changing. I mean make it one way to excite players to buy a package then hack it. I'm all for balance and a good or great battle. Yet often too short and often just not so exciting. Yes that paper, rock, and scissors just often it seems your one rock versus 4 papers because 4 scissors when to fight 4 rocks. I could make it more confusing. Yet my point is the people playing often is the problem playing without a brain. It all about weapon choice and movement types modules help improve those.
I think you found the solution to the updates JB! Have the devs have a defuse ability. Put something in where you have to pay a little so people don’t abuse it to refuse nonstop but it might stop some people leaving the game in droves like they are now.
Guys is it worth coming back after 2 years? I remember having 2 typhoons and loads hoover engines etc plus few legendary guns.
Some veterans say typhoons are still really good maybe a bit harder to play with the new hover changes but there is no reason not to come back and try out the game again with improved graphics
there was a time long ago where there was linear progression,then they made it into a cash grab. early crossout a few years back you could work your way to from blues to purples within a month or so,now you have a months grind just to make one purple. now epics are becoming lackluster as well and thats what most people play,its just a downhill slope

I just bought a used PS4 & started playing this game about 3 days ago. I love it too.. but I am terrible at controlling even the basic vehicles. I'm sticking with it & trying to improve. Wow the vehicles look awesome down the line. Good vid cheers.

If this horrible patch wasn't enough to drive me away from coming back to this game then watching your gameplay and seeing what I'm missing definitely does the trick. Who wouldn't want to get instantly evaporated by someone left clicking on you with power creep shotguns or get pecked to death by hovers with no real counterplay?
Sold my aegis as soon as I read this while the price hasn't dropped yet. Reducing energy cost is great, but nearly halving the durability is madness, it last 2/3 seconds max as it is. The Oppressor change makes no sense, they'll make it as useless as the colossus is now. We're back to the days of uncatchable hovers at the moment.
devs should have a designated tester that plays the game with diferent builds just to colect feedback. All it shows is that they are disconected from the game and dont play test the new stuff or the old ones. Its not that hard.
The stream they did the other day i felt sad and laughter at the same time fro haw bad they were at showing stuff. Maybe its the english barrier, i dont know. But they seemed clueless
I use piercers and i would say they are quite balanced. There are games where i get 1-2 kills and games where i pretty much die instantly. The piercers alone are very weak unless you use a cooler or radiator to boost their firing time, so i think no nerfs are needed. If the devs still decide to nerf the m-37 then they should only nerf it in raids because it is too op against AI.

I think they should have left the Varun as is but transformed it to a Relic above the Toadfish with a 2000PS increase. The people who invested to upgrade it now have untradable relics and can still use the weapon to its max efficiency. They are horrible to deal with in PvP.

I love the buffs except the kami cap. The kami is just fast as it is.
I hate the nerfs to everything the did in the devs. Like the steppe cabin, ermak, varoons, and that 1 engine.
The caucuses could use a nerf nut not a big one. They could nerf the damage or accuracy on it.
The m 37 piercer did not need a nerf.
I did see them a lot at 2499 ps. Bit it was no big deal.

@@dinamiteurdinamiteur2324 the issue is that they mix in very needed changes (varun, ripper) with ridiculous shit nobody asked for (hovers and other fuckery to do with movement parts). The net effect is that experienced players spend more time making their builds work than actually playing the game, all to appease the 12 year olds on the official forum who's mother's credit cards aren't making them win pvp matches as much as they think they should.
Add to that the scumbag timing of certain things, and you have XO in a nutshell. Spend coins to get parts you need to win only to see them nerfed, fuck you thanks for coming out.

Although this update is absolutely terrible this won't even come close to killing the game 1 because it's free and 2 because at the end of the day players are gonna adapt to these changes anyway in this game alone it's either you adapt or you suffer.
The hover counter video which comes tomorrow is probably the YOKAI. Yokais literally one-shots hovers.

My varuns upgrade was costly in materials now they’re nerfing? Wow
They should get more PLAYER feedback before changing any parts. They should focus more on the physics and ai or make better maps with collapsible structures and they should definitely make a game mode for 3v3 pvp leviathan battles, the resources earned should be scrap and copper. Improve the game then make a balance overhaul.
I last played October 25th after 5 years and won't be coming back.
I'll lose only 3 % total resistance with my ermak / oma mori and grizzly. It sucks but eh. It wont matter so much.

With what they’re doing to the game I think I might just stop playing the game for combat. Which sucks because this game is really unique and I hate to see the devs change so much so fast. But with how much time and money I’ve spent on this game I’m just not sure it’s worth it anymore.

You know, I've been hopedul for a while, but it's been a terrible cycle for too long now with there balance changes. Release new item, every one buys the packs/passes, then they nerf it to dust before the next release comes. It's annoying at this point and they've gotta be chasing off what little player base they have left with these changes.
I'll keep checking in on the game from time to time, but we'll see what happens. Best of luck with your content though jb! Hope this doesn't affect you too heavily in the long run.

My arbiter hover super broken working fine later nerf tonnage 😂 Devs, they have no idea what they are doing and many in the community (improvised players and sealclubber) are taken too much into consideration because they live on the forums

Tsunami buff is good. But again i going to change my build on hovers after investing lot of time and money into it,easy to counter with youkai. Not very happy, same story with varuns...
the devs are going to do whatever they feel will make them the most money. most of these changes are as you say Scummy. The only items they leave alone are their money makers. relics. because to buy even one these days you need limitless income. But that's enough of a rant. the changes for most items aren;t really needed they just want to make money. this is the same thing they always do.
