- The area around Santa Clara and San Jose has been a place of intense rail activity for years. Once a bustling terminal for the Southern Pacific with many freights and the servicing of engines taking place, today the area is still a mecca for modern day commuter rail action. All 3 major Northern California commuter rail operations are seen, along with Amtrak's Coast Starlight and Union Pacific freights. All sequences in this video were recorded from 2013 to 2019. Enjoy!

@@thomascunningham5013 I'm not from the bay i live in temecula, but i want to visit San Francisco and the bay hopefully, I've passed by the exit on the way to grass valley. I'm not an electric train fan but I've seen amtrak's new sc charger diesel locomotive! I've heard about caltrain from articles and the news!

This was shot on a Panasonic HV750K, a Canon HFS200, and a Sony DCR-SX44, I now shoot with a Nikon D5300 with a Nikon ME-1 micrphone, and a Tamron 16-300mm macro lens
Why would coast Starlight goes very slowly and it's never does it before which is a reason travel times are so long between LA and Seattle. Amtrak is need speed up a little more without delay to designation. Coast Starlight always late.
