    This song has been written specifically for a japanese videogame competition if I'm right - with the game Rainbow 6, hence the "take a steady aim", "gunshot" , "knock knock knock" etc ... lyrics.

      Yup All Japan University E-games tournament theme song

      There was a big interview with Miku and Saiki, where they talked about it:
      +++++++++++
      -- As for the other tracks on the single, [Hibana] is the battle theme song for the "All Japan University e-Sports Competition". This is also a newly-written song, right?
      Miku: That’s right-po.
      -- Right. With the lyrics, you are using the gun to…
      Miku: Shoot at everyone-po. *laughter*
      -- It would have been a little frightening if these weren’t just lyrics *laughter*
      Miku: I wonder what I was thinking about when I wrote it… Perhaps I was under a lot of stress… or? *laughter*
      SAIKI: If it is Kobato, then it still makes sense because she plays PUBG.
      Miku: That’s right-po! I usually like this sort of game (note: shooter games). In that sense, I guess it does seem reflective of myself-po. It seems it has revealed a little bit about my own interests. *laughter*
      -- Were there any specific requests with regards to this song?
      Miku: Not really … *laughter* I think I was really blessed-po. I was just told to do whatever I wanted.
      SAIKI: Rather, I was the one who gave orders to Kobato. Like “please include these things in the lyrics” or something like that.
      Miku: So this game is called [Rainbow Six Siege], and Saiki has a friend who plays the game-po.
      SAIKI: My friend is a gamer so I thought to ask him whether he knew about [Rainbow Six Siege], and the moment I did he was like “You’re going to ask me about this!?” (note: excited)
      Miku: A switch was turned on-po. *laughter*
      SAIKI: Yup. “So, let me tell you about this game…” and my friend started giving a lecture on various aspects of the game *laughter* So for different games, there are specific unique terms that are used in each game, right? I was taught some of these specialised terms and passed the info on to Kobato. For example, it seems “One Shot One Kill” would make people happy, etc.
      **Miku: “**I’ll add that in-po!”
      SAIKI: Also, I was told that setting traps is an important part of this game. There’s a trap where if you knock on the wall 3 times, a bomb will explode, so Kobato wrote “Knock Knock Knock” into the lyrics. I also asked Kobato to make some changes to give off the feeling of “Let’s set more traps!”, etc. Like this, while listening to my friend’s lecture, and actually watching the game on screen, it’s like “ah… I see how it is”.
      Miku: So because there is a lot of specific jargon, so I thought that was very important when writing the lyrics-po.

    i just LOVE the vocals, Miku and Saiki are just killing it here, these two have been working so well together. Ant is out there.....he has fun videos and way too much time on his hands..LOL! He's a cool dude. There's a few more "Cluppo" tunes out there you haven't done too.

    All of the Ladies have actually been working with a tutor on their English. Kanami is also studying either Mandarin or Cantonese.
    Ant usually uses direct CD rips which he boosts to overcome YT''s compression algorithm.
    I herniated 2 additional disc in my back on a wooden roller coaster. After that my Dr forbid me from riding them ever again. And horses, and motorcycles and bicycles.
    I think P n D shares his photo stash with Ant.

    Band-Maid has done many commissioned songs. Bubble was for a TV murder mystery show. Other songs are used in anime. For this gaming concern theme song they came up with a rah-rah cheerleader type song which is highly effective for what it was designed. "Play to win. Shoot to kill!" And, of course like most all Miku lyrics you can always find more than one way to take it. For the record Miku is the band's designated screamer.

    Ant Music has also made a video of Band-Maid in their early days. They had a van to take all their gear and themselves to shows and kanami used to drive around tokyo- I can't remember who used to map read. Hard to imagine now.

    Ant doesn't just do fan video's. He does full on 'documentaries' with full storylines. They are funny as F. You should check them out. You will get to meet Car Lady! ❤
    Btw, the next release is an 8 track EP not an album. And two of the tracks are Sense and Corallium

    It's Miku doing the screaming, even though it sounded like they might have done unison at one point.
    Miku's scream usually sounds a bit nasal, which adds the "cute with attitude" vibe to the song 😂 while Saiki uses either head voice or falsetto to hit the same note, which doesn't have the same effect.
    In my mind Miku is the one who screams, Saiki is the one who shouts.
    Off the note, there's a band called Regurgitator (not THE Regurgitator but) from Australia with quite unique sound and versatile style. They are one of my favourite bands.

    I'm 99% sure that's Miku doing the scream. And yeah, maybe they spliced two takes to make it last that long, which IMO is fine for a studio recording because it sounds cool AF. Kinda cool how along with the musical sections and guitar solos being shorter than one would expect, they've now added in things that are much _longer_ than expected like those backing vocals (also see "Why Why Why") and some of Akane's drum fills.

    There's a lot of extremely strong competition, but I think this is my favourite B-side. I always thought Miku sang the long high notes - could be wrong.

    • @miqoto
      @miqoto Před 2 lety +8

      Correct Miku sings the higher and lower notes usually. Saiki keeps her notes in middle zone, focusing more on the power lines.

    • @greylocke100
      @greylocke100 Před 2 lety +3

      Yes, Miku is a Mezzo Soprano, so she can go much lower than Saiki, in addition to much higher. So when the song calls for extremely low or high notes it's Miku. Saiki has said to Kanami several times "Quit writing stuff out of my range" That is almost an exact quote, if I could remember which interview it was I could give you the link to the translation. It's been discussed that Kanami, in her writing, writes for Miku's vocal range and not Saiki's.

    • @JuanSan66
      @JuanSan66 Před 2 lety +3

      @@greylocke100 Yes that's how it is. And because of that Saiki has improved a lot as a singer. All five have used personal challenges as a vehicle for excellence.

    • @VladimirChupin
      @VladimirChupin Před 2 lety +2

      @@greylocke100 From what I remember, it was the other way round: each time Saiki improves her range during her vocal training, she immediately calls Kanami and says, "Now I can hit a such and such note." And from that moment, Kanami writes Saiki's part within that new range.
