I love roads and pathways in Minecraft! They're the glue that binds any village, town, or city, and even the space between settlements. They are so important, but often overlooked.

I'm realizing this playing on a vanilla server; a few players are going no/minimal elytra and are using horses, and they've made a path from spawn all the way to and through their bases, which are about 1.5k out from spawn, and they have various builds along the path, plus the path continues through a bridge into a city that another player started that I've also been a part of. I've walked the path a couple times and took note of how nice it was having everything connected that way, and it made me want to start making a path (bridges over rivers included) with various small builds along it all the way out to my home which is about 8k blocks from spawn.
Sadly, the server has been very slow lately and I haven't had much motivation to play on it, especially after joining another similar server that just reset for 1.19 and has a lot more players on it.

You're the first minecraft tutorial youtuber whose style isn't just "add so much detail the viewer no longer can tell what he's looking at".
I always despised that kind of nonsensical "show-off" mentality and contrasted it with my own realism based minimalism, but you have showed me there can be a realistic, yet more detailed style of building that I can actually learn from.

This just blatantly isn’t true. There’s plenty of people who have been around a long time that have good not over detailed builds. If anything the over detailing is more of a random people on Reddit or viewer problem, since they see all these details and think just a bunch of stairs and colors and slabs will help.

I'm really interested in learning how to transition materials well between spaces - ie when going from doing something more formal around a castle with some straight lines, formal gardens, then veering off towards less formal houses, how would you change up the materials and sizes of paths. A path that I thought works well with an area such as a castle or fortress of sorts made of light blocks like quartz blocks and bricks and calcite is a mix of Lapis Blocks, Blue Concrete (both solid and powder) and Blue Wool. Might just be preference but I think it works well + you can do hidden lighting with the blue carpets. Try it out

Something a lot of people tend to look past is how big your paths are. If youre going to have wagons passing through these paths then you need to consider that before hand, especially if your doing a city build. A lot of builders tend to make their paths too small and too cramped and it can get annoying at times.

I’ve been binging your videos recently, and have been loving them. They’ve been a great resource to get back into the groove of building.
Currently, I’m trying to experiment with the recently released darker pallets for gothic/dark fantasy builds (I’m mildly restricted as the server I play on is 1.16.5 - I look upon 1.8 with envy).
Minecraft is getting into providing an amazing assortment of dark blocks for darker builds. Do you think you can make a future video taking a swing at what a few homes or a dark town could look like?
It would be a great inspiration, and a breakaway from the dominating rustic vibe that has been so well tried in MC.

Fantastic work and explaining. I would be very curious about some builds in a Taiga or snowy biome. How would you make a good looking pathway there? Been working on a small village on a taiga biome and would love to see you attempt some paths or builds in a cold climate!
