Costco is meticulously and intentionally arranged so that it maximizes your shopping in wanting you to shop more as opposed to what you initially came there for. Just always assume you need more than what you are after unless you are indeed on a stringent budget. I have never walked away from Costco without spending over $200 due to all this. Its the lure of bulk-buying as well thinking you are saving but are not. This is neither bad nor good as it is subjective to each customer. ;)

It will definitely going to save money if you stick to a list but yes you end up buying more. I was pretty good at it a two months ago. Now I'm overspending so I really have to keep in check what I buy.

Love Costco! We just came back last night and I bought so many different foods compared to my local Costco. FYI you can't use VISA cards at Costco even their gas. I had to use the ATM to purchase my grocery this past weekend.

I find Costco’s produce items are expensive vs local grocery stores like No frills, Food basics, Freshco in Ontario. I tend to buy Costco items that are not available in local grocery stores and items on sale.
Agree. This is the best strategy. Kami rin sa local grocery stores pa rin lalo na mga pang ulam, etc. Mas laking tipid. 🙂
We live in the US , yes executive membership is worth it. You will have two Credit certificate every year, one from visa and as a costco member points...Good luck kabayan

May food bank po ba malapit jan sa inyo? Kasi may student din dito sa basement ng bahay namin nakatira family sila pumunta dito sa edmonton sa food bank din namin sila pinapunta para makatipid sila sa pagkain at furniture bank naman para sa mga kailangan nilang gamit. Baka meron din jan sa inyo sa calgary at kung may FAMILY'S FIRST din jan sa inyo nagbibigay din sila ng mga gatas at diaper na libre para sa mga bata.

I used to volunteer sa food bank and donate but I hope to never use food bank. I’m very happy that food bank is there to ease financial crisis for some but please lets not abuse the system 😊

Costco is known as the $200 store you go in thinking I only need a few things then you end up paying $200. If you choose to maintain the executive membership you will need to spend $6000 para mabawe yung $120 membership fee. For a family of 3 that might be hard.
Ngayon first year po bawi agad kasi may credit sila bngay na $120. Bale parang wala pong binayaran. But after 1 year we will see po since mahal na. 🙂
Costco membership: we share with other family members, friends, co-workers by January our points coupon ay….. malaki Sulit!

I would never, ever pay an annual membership to go spend thousands of dollars, at a time when groceries and everything else is so, so expensive, man oh man, I can't afford a membership fee !
Do you know someone who has a membership? Maybe you can go with them shopping to at least buy meats. Since I spend about $300 biweekly, I use the 2% rewards every year towards a new card.
