The FX Impact boys have been 'pimping' these Element Optics scopes like their lives depended on it.
For the money, I think the Hawke Frontier range still give them a bloody nose. Let's see if these fellas are still in business five years from now and if their kit has stood the test of time. Until then, I for one am reluctant to spend a decent wad of cash on an unproven brand.

I agree with you on the Hawke Frontier range. I have a Frontier 30FFP 5-25 x 56 and it's an incredible scope! Light, not bulky and excellent fit and finish! BUT....noooo information really about it at all...anywhere! I purchased the Element Helix which I actually think is a great scope for the price-point and excellent glass and turrets. I was going to try a Titan, but I get the feeling that the Helix and Nexus are great, but the Titan is as Joe says.....decent....but not a great scope! I still think the guys at Element have done and incredible job, and the reticles are the best out their I think! Keep it up! Keep safe all!

      @@simonspain6080 Hi pal
Good to hear from somebody with first hand ownership experience of both brands.
I've had 3 Hawkes (currently own 2 of them). I had to let the FFP scope go because my 47 year old eyes don't like a reticle that small 😁, (don't laugh, you'll get there one day!).
I dial for distance now rather than hold, but I apreciate that hold is a brilliant fast and stealthy option.
I'm currently looking at a higher mag for my .243 Howa, which is currently running a x15 mag when not wearing the Wraith NV kit.
There are masses of scopes out there that work perfectly for anything upto and inc. rimfire distance (circa 200 meters), no need to spend a lot unless it's pose value.
I think the top end optics realy start to become worth their money once you stretch out the distance, especially past 500 mtr.
In truth I rarely if ever go out to 500 mtr. as living shit has a habit of moving in a fraction of a second and before you know it, you've injured something that bolts off into cover to enjoy along painful death, which ain't what you want to see.
Give the Element lads a year or two and I may just dip my toes in the water.
      Take care fella 🇮🇸

Haha....47!!! I am old enough to be your big brother then! 57 I was in September! Haha!! But with two boys under 10, so I started late! So I have to skateboard, bike, everything to keep up with them! Eyes are ok, but need glasses to read so I understand the reticle thing! I have a few rather expensive....well for me...just a collector and shoot when I can guy....a Delta Stryker SFP 5-50 x 56 and the BIG Nikko! Completely overkill I understand, but for Field Target they come into their own. As you probably know, you use the mag to range-find with the side-focus....and both....the Nikko best of all....can do as good a job as my laser range-finder! Amazing! For anything else probably x12...x16 is enough but then the FAC Air Arms and the FX guns are shooting over 100 yards....so I do like up to say x25 to see stuff better and to see where the shot goes. I think the Element guys have integrity from seeing where they came from. Yes, sure everyone will be 'needing' Element Optics now, but I'm ok with that and the Helix did really surprise me with the class it has for the money. Where are you in the world? I am in a far too dry southern Spain!....miss the rain...we need it! But then I am originally from the UK! My Spanish born boys love rain like their Dad luckily! LOL Keep well and safe! :-)

@@simonspain6080 lol... skateboards at 57... can't you find a safer hobby, like sword swallowing or something!
I have two boys myself, 18 & 11. We live about 30 mins drive away from 'sunny' Manchester... currently in 'tier 3' Corona lockdown... again!
I suppose if you're Field Target shooting with air, then the big mag is pretty useful, especially when exact mm shot placement counts. The 'exacting' precision needed in F.T. is no less critical than the 'within a couple of inches' accuracy that I need out at 200+ meters. Must admit, some of the airgun shooters seem to be incredible shots... I couldn't come close to their degree of accuracy... head shots on pigions at 100 metrrs... in a stiff breeze!
Uncertain times at the moment, what with this bloody virus and (I would have thought at the forefront of your mind) the UK's decision to leave the EU; time will tell re the latter I suppose. I find my shooting an escape from the crap that seems to be ongoing almost constantly these days. I find the piece and solitude of the outdoors therapeutic.
Take care and best of luck to you and your family, (and don't knock the sunshine with your 'rose tinted' British weather glasses on... constant rain is crap!)

@@CyclopsJoeVideos that is why i recommend you to my friends looking to buy glass. Here in our country scopes costs 1.5 to 2x the price as it is a novelty item. Fake scopes here on Gun stores can cost anywhere from 100 to 300 US. On the internet its more forgiving but you can only buy the premium China made scopes brands thru the internet and there is no return or repair warranties as shipping a scope back out although is no problem but shipping it back in is illegal unless thru a certified dealers which they do not offer since its their policy to sell you a scope and not to tend to repairs or replacement.

Ohhh no no no lol the F1' are world class scopes in every facet of the word. The Element Nexus is a fantastic scope at 1500 dollars amazing even but it is in no way shape or form comparable to a NF F1 and this scope isn't comparable to the Nexus. The F1s are 2x the cost of the Nexus and 4x the cost of this scope so they shouldn't be compared.
The nexus is a better preforming scope then NF SHV without a doubt and this scope will give you 90% of the performance of an SHV for about 500 dollars less but again don't think that a 800 dollar scope will compete with with a 3500 dollar scope because it wont nor will a 800 dollar scope compete with a 1500 dollar scope.
There is a reason top tier scopes cost what they cost. There is also the fact you will pay a hefty price for names but when you are talking world class optics there is a reason they are world class.

Lol, the turret cover is toolless, but then you need to undo hex grub screws to set/change the zero stop. Why did they even bother with the tool-less cap, i wonder...

    • @PracticalTacticalAccuracy
      @PracticalTacticalAccuracy Před 3 lety +1

If you think about it for two seconds, a scope zero can change slightly over time. Could be due to an ammo change or just oddities with each rifle... For this reason you may from time to time need to re-index the turret. As for the zero stop, what is nice about this particular design is that you don't have to set it to zero. I personally prefer to set my zero stop about 5 MOA past my zero specifically so I can over travel below zero for those times I need to. It's also possible that your zero distance requires you to go below zero for shorter distances. All good reasons to set the zero stop, below zero.
