Even though moral and ethical foundations may be eroding, we should ask God to help us stay true to biblical values. We need His help. We need His Word. Jesus Himself said that if we want a strong foundation, one that will withstand the strongest storm, and if we would be wise, we would build our foundation on His Word, not only hearing His Word but following it. To do otherwise is to foolishly invite disaster. The apostle James reminds us, “Don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves” (James 1:22).
