- 68 miles and 8500 feet of climbing on the mountain bike in April is just... Too much. TOO FREAKING MUCH.
Stop 1 of the Lifetime Grand Prix and stop2 of my SoCal race trip, the Fuego XL mtb race was a bit more than I could take.
I chose the Kona Honzo hardtail for easier climbing, with Maxxis Recon Race 2.4 tires for some cush and easier rolling on the hard packed terrain of Monterey, CA. Maybe a bit too much pressure, though. They were mounted up on Astral Serpentine Carbon rims - light, fast rolling, and bomb-proof (lucky for me).
I enjoyed the weekend, sorry if I didn't get to say hi, but I was there to race, and get the the heck outta dodge.
Next up is another bad-idea BWR/Lifetime double header, this time with Vancouver Island BWR and Unbound! It's gonna be a hoot and a half.
Imagine you're suffering, gasping for air, and Becca comes up behind you, celebrating the ride with enthusiastic singing. 🤣
Well that looked fun!
no rear brake !!! i’d die. surprised you didn’t. that’s the real pro move.
Oh Becca, 2:17 what a nice place.
I was wondering when the outhouse tour would happen, but no one prepared me for it barely 2 minutes in. Top notch facilities.
Kerry Werner who? Lol Great content as always!
I'm going to make a shirt "Don't ask me about Kerry!" 😁
❤ that you gave up on beeping out the f bombs.
glad the loo review was right at the start lmao
You are just epic.
Made my day when you hit the drum at the top of the climb 😂
I saw the dude riding the bars backwards at the feed stop while doing Robles. Super wild.. was he riding the whole time like that ? Nice work on Fuego!
I think so!!! HOW!?!?!? I wish I could have seen it.
Are you participating in all of the lifetime races this year? If so I'm excited to see it.
I yam
@@GoFahr "Translate to English" 😄😄😄
Damn Woman! What going on with that top tube. Maybe the rear caliper is striking in sympathy.
what is that on the legs?
How do you like the Honzo?
Those look like pretty narrow handlebars, are they cut down?
Yea, I like my bars about 71cm. I think...
who is cary
I think he's the guy that used to be funny, but now he MCs The Price is Right

“I need to lose 15 pounds”? 🙄 Even if this was a joke…just try to be a better role model for women in the sport please. Not healthy.
I was taught not to lie. In order for me to be a successful climber, I Need to reach a certain watt/kg, and I am never going to reach the watts necessary to climb quickly at my current kilos, so I need to lose weight. Being a professional athlete sucks in a lot of ways, and I will NEVER hide that. Do I NEED to lose the weight? No, not if I am okay with being slow up hills. Women need to be prepared to be diminished, sexualized, called fat, called skinny, deal with the consequences of being over weight or underweight, being underpaid, undervalued, and constantly criticized. To all aspiring professional females reading this: Be prepared to be hard as fuck.
@@GoFahr I think you can be honest about weight’s impact on the sport but the thinking: “I felt slow -> *immediate response* ->I need to be skinnier” is an oversimplification that is not setting a great example of what it means to be a professional.
I don’t envy you and the choices and sacrifices you have to make. But slightly altering the way you speak on a platform that is open to everyone, including impressionable young athletes, is something you should consider before becoming defensive.
I know for a fact I am 13 lbs over my average race weight. I can say what I want in my channel, you can not watch if I offend you. I won't change because of what someone thinks. Have you ever thought your judgement and public criticism of someone with depression and anxiety might not be healthy? I'm not going to tell you not to comment though. Because I know me putting this information out there is to be seen and shared, and I am subjected to people's opinions and comments. That's the thing about the internet, it's full of imperfection. Byeeee
Not sure if this is just a straightforward troll but it’s a little bit insulting to tell an elite athlete what to do. I don’t know that much about Becca’s preparation for elite international competition, but judging by her palmares, she does.
@@Paul_Paulson definitely not judging her riding or racing or even personal decisions about how she manages herself. I’m concerned about the blatant negative body image speech (thin=fast not fit=fast) and how that is perceived on a larger platform. As someone who considers themselves a regular gal, I’d say some people might be too entrenched in the unhealthy culture around cycling and weight to see the problem here.
