Usually Swedes have lucky bounces or last second goals. You want an example? Well olympic games 2006 in Turin Finland and Sweden played for gold and in the 3rd period Saku Koivu's stick broke and he had to go get new stick and during those few seconds Swedes scored the winning goal of the game. Sweden beat Finland 3-2 and won the olympic gold in a shittiest way possible. Finland beat all major hockey teams and was the only team that was undefeated before final but of course it had to be Sweden that beat us in a very swedish manner.

Haha, you think Sweden is lucky in hockey too? 😆
I can give what I think from a Swedish point of view.
Ice hockey is popular in Finland and Sweden because we're cold nations yes, BUT ice hockey was introduced in Sweden and Finland quite early, that gave us time to develop before many others, most countries in Europe started ice hockey in the late 40's or early 50's, by that time we had been doing it for at least 30 years.
Sweden had succsesses quite early, a few golds in the 50's and then in the 80's.
Finland became a top nation quite late, in the 80's and 90's.
What about intrest? In Sweden it was the most popular sport between the 50's and 90's, then football took the first place and Sweden in 2022 have about the same number of active players that we had 30 years ago, while in Finland it grows.
The Swedes think the hockey world championship is "meh" too, but we follow our team.
Finland however always lost the finals, so you always dreamt of winning, but now you have 4 golds and 1 olympic medal, so the intrest May cool down with you as well, but I think ice hockey will still stay nr 1 over there.
Personally i only watch international tournaments on TV, i prefer the Swedish league especually live.
