Just look at how chinese media stated that he's a superstar in a badminton and a good looking boy and never look arrogant but a friendly player. Not to mention young Xie Xinfang adore Taufik better than her own husband. Wong MC, LCW's wife said "he's so talented, he's like born to play badminton". Saina's badminton hero is taufik, she said "he used to make badminton seems easy".

    Taufik is probably my favorite player, but I tend to cheer for Lin Dan since I'm Chinese and in international competition I sort of have to lol. Both great players :P. Although Lin Dan isn't retiring yet, he's listed as participating in the 2013 All England (in a month).

  • @jaskilla5
    @jaskilla5 Před 11 lety +1

    The difference is, Taufik enjoyed success very early in his career(17) unlike Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan who only started to blossom after 2004/2005. Taufik is a great all round player and still to this day no one can produce a backhand like his so I think you should just keep your 2 cents to yourself or throw it out where someone cares. In case you're wondering who I am to reply to your comment, I am a professional badminton player also and I have met these players already.

Generations to next generations, somebody will learn your style, learn your moves and eventually will out perform you in the court... But each one of these players are incredible on their ways but some will not last longer than the others... but still legends and we always look up to them...

    By the way, If he isn't committed, he wouldn't have fought so hard when he's down 0-6 in the 2004 finals. Hello, he achieved his goals. He's satisfied. Lin Dan is born competitive, that's why he's fighting. LCW is the only player representing Msia, that's why he needs those gold/silver. Taufik? He's different. Enough is enough. No need for a second or third. No need 10 over titles. He have a badminton hall in Indonesia for the people. He just show his commitment in a different way.

    Finally someone who sees things from an objective point of view.
    If Taufik gets into the Hall of Fame just because he won just one World Championship and One Olympic gold medal and nobody actually took notice of how bad and un-impactful his performance has been since 2006 till now, it would be extremely unfair and offensive to the other players i see as more consistent and achieve actually more good results than Taufik.

    MY GOD. PEOPLE SHOULD STOP ARGUING OVER WHO IS THE BEST. THERE WERE TIMES WHEN TAUFIK PLAYED HIS BEST MATCHES AND THERE WERE TIMES HE PLAYED WORST. IN THIS GAME IT IS THE LATTER BUT IN HIS TOP FORM JUST LOOK AT HOW HE TRASHED LIN DAN IN 2005 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. LEE CHONG WEI IN THE OTHER HAND IS JUST MORE CONSISTENT AND OVERALL A PHYSICALLY STRONGER PLAYER THAN TAUFIK. I BELIEVE CHONG WEI TRAINS HARDER THAN TAUFIK TOO, NONETHELESS TAUFIK IS MORE TALENTED BUT TALENT DOESN'T MEAN SHIT IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE ATTITUDE AND SPIRIT OF A SPORTSMAN.

    You do not understand what I mean. No he doesn't win any titles anymore, but that doesn't matter to him as long as he can do what he love. A real champion isn't someone who is winning all the trophys. To a real champion winning isn't what's important, it is doing what his heart tells him to no matter how it goes.
    And that is why Taufik is the real champion.

    Lee Chong Wei is old too but he still can beat the crap out of Taufik Hidayat.
    Whether he tries hard or not, the result against Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan today and tomorrow will remain unchanged. A straight set thrashing.

    Taufik Hidayat may not win as many titles like LD or LCW, but he is definitely one of the most admired and respected, not only by badminton fans, but even also professional badminton players around the world. And if talking about Taufik's achievement, at least Taufik is an Olympic Gold Medalist and World Badminton Championship winner, not like loser like Vincent Chen who likes to talk bad about someone behind the computer.

  • @Miqilin7
    @Miqilin7 Před 11 lety

    Lin Dan started winning titles in 2002 and for a Chinese player to break into the national team with Xia Xuanze, Chen Hong, Bao Chunlai were considered remarkable.
    Also Lin Dan thrashed Taufik in their first ever official match when Lin Dan was not even fully matured in his game.
    Lee Chong Wei ? Go back and research one more time. He became a winning force from 2006 until now. The proof is look at the number of titles he won not what he won. That is consistency.
