  • Vacuum sealing meat is easy to do and will keep your meat fresher for longer. It will also help prevent freezer burn. As a hunter, I put a lot of wild game meat into my freezer at a time, so it's important that it stays fresh in the freezer for at least a year. This is also helpful if you like to purchase your meat in bulk, then portion it out for the freezer! ENJOY!

Little tip, cut the bags so you dont have so much room in it . Also you can put a paper towel inside the bag in front of the food to stop the moisture transfer. 👍

We have used a suction vacuum for more than ten years. Initially we just inserted the meat into a bag and ran the vacuum. Worked great but noticed some freezer burn for meat frozen over a year. We started wrapping the meat in Saran wrap then into a bag then bran the vacuum. This method not only contained any liquid that might be squeezed out of the meat but the biggest benefit is the freezer life is greatly increased. 2, 3, 4 years later and the product is still like new!!! Great info in this video.

    Nicely presented Allie ..
Question… I’m always in a quandary when I’m vacuuming my venison. To watch the moisture being sucked out bothers me with moisture loss. I have been wrapping the meat prior to sealing in Saran Wrap and the moisture is maintained. What do you think of this approach?? THANK YOU

Two tricks. One is to freeze or partially freeze the meat or wet food before then vacuum sealing it, the second one is to put a paper towel in the bag to absorb liquids as you vacuum seal. (The paper towel stays in the bag.) I've only done the second one and only with veggies.

The thing about leaving the sinew until you thaw to cook it is that it will protect the meat from freezer burn. Cut it off before cooking and you have beautiful red meat
