- Vacuum sealing meat is easy to do and will keep your meat fresher for longer. It will also help prevent freezer burn. As a hunter, I put a lot of wild game meat into my freezer at a time, so it's important that it stays fresh in the freezer for at least a year. This is also helpful if you like to purchase your meat in bulk, then portion it out for the freezer! ENJOY!

Awesome job Allie! Glad you're enjoying it!
Very much so!!!
Little tip, cut the bags so you dont have so much room in it . Also you can put a paper towel inside the bag in front of the food to stop the moisture transfer. 👍
We have used a suction vacuum for more than ten years. Initially we just inserted the meat into a bag and ran the vacuum. Worked great but noticed some freezer burn for meat frozen over a year. We started wrapping the meat in Saran wrap then into a bag then bran the vacuum. This method not only contained any liquid that might be squeezed out of the meat but the biggest benefit is the freezer life is greatly increased. 2, 3, 4 years later and the product is still like new!!! Great info in this video.
Interesting, thanks for the idea.
Thanks. I'll keep this in mind. Great video. Have a great day!

👍
Very informative. Do you use them for your fish as well?
Yep!
Great video to show those who are nee to vaccum sealing.
been using it for years. i cheat and do some marinade as well.
Hey, time for another Q & A and life update, Goals for year ahead? 😊
Thanks Jon. Good idea for sure!
Nicely presented Allie ..
Question… I’m always in a quandary when I’m vacuuming my venison. To watch the moisture being sucked out bothers me with moisture loss. I have been wrapping the meat prior to sealing in Saran Wrap and the moisture is maintained. What do you think of this approach?? THANK YOU
First time ever hearing of it. Interesting idea!
@@OutdoorsAllie thank you..P.S.- you are very knowledgeable about our sport. It’s a pleasure to follow you .I almost sent you a 6 pack of that pumpkin ale .. Are you interested? Oh !! By the way I’m 87
Two tricks. One is to freeze or partially freeze the meat or wet food before then vacuum sealing it, the second one is to put a paper towel in the bag to absorb liquids as you vacuum seal. (The paper towel stays in the bag.) I've only done the second one and only with veggies.
@@WillN2Go1 this is a great idea . I remember doing it this summer with blueberries 🫐.. Worked out well
@@WillN2Go1 paper towel method works great
Professional
Which do you prefer and why?
How much was your chamber vac? The ones I've seen online go for $400 and more
Allie have a question I have a very old one are the ones from Walmart are any good or were should I go to buy one I don't want to pay a lot of money because I don't have a lot of money thank you
Walmart vacuum sealer are excellent and name brand. Can't go wrong with any of them
Right not I have a food saver unit its ok. But I have had both name brand and eBay purchased bags and have not seen much of a difference in how well the unit does or doesn't seal.
Right after reading that about three times I've realized this is not about how to vacuum off a fillet of seal meat that I've dropped on the floor
LOL
👍👍
Hey Allie, There's not enough meat in the package if I'm joining the both of you for dinner. lol Just kidding, but wouldn't hesitate in a New York second if invited. Might have to invest in the $100 sealer for myself.
Still waiting for the big buck your going to get. See you soon in the next video. Be careful and stay safe.
I filled my tag on a nice 8pt in PA!
@@OutdoorsAllie Congratulations I knew you would.
👍🏻
👍
I buy in bulk and do this all the time
Great idea!
Get a whole pork backstrap from the grocery store and you can make a nice pile of pork chops 😋
👍

When are the hunts coming Whacker?
Working on one today!
@@OutdoorsAllie and I bet it features deer hunting in the Pennsylvania snow!!!!!!
So weird, wife and I just talking about maybe getting one.
They are sweeeeeet!!
Let’s see you fillet some sea bass or any fish that you just caught fresh out of the water while they are still alive please. 🙏
I like to bleed them out first. Makes for better, whiter fish
Baddie
That's fine, I don't eat seal.
?
I wonder how much venison she eats in a year?
Lots!
Erster
first!!!
👍
A pro doesn’t leave sinu covering the meat lol
Debatable.
The thing about leaving the sinew until you thaw to cook it is that it will protect the meat from freezer burn. Cut it off before cooking and you have beautiful red meat
