I am vehemently aggravated at the "Cornfed Piper" wearing a modern full dress blouse from The Citadel and disgracing it with whatever that tartan is and his shoddy piping. Not to mention the whole farbtastic kit he has on.

I marched in this parade. It was a lot of fun. Let me tell you, those shoes are pretty damn uncomfortable, but, then again, comfort wasn't their purpose. Also, if you haven't before, you guys should check out David Kincaid. He has some great recordings of Civil War-era music. I actually got to meet him. He marched in this parade. I never knew he was a Civil War reenactor until I saw him while we were forming up for the parade. I was thrilled! You can see him march by, holding the sword at 21:28.

We've been fans of DK for ages and have pretty much followed his career from the beginning. He has slowed down a bit since the baby but we catch him at the music muster in GB every Summer. We missed this years parade due to family needs but hope to be there next year. By the way I have another GB parade video that's a few years older.

We have 318.9 million people as citizens of the U.S.A and only 2.167.two thousand people have viewed these documentaries I say these because this figure of 2 thousand is a common number of Americans who viewed these events. The point is that is a sorry number of people who actually care for the history of the U.S so what conclusion can draw of this? does anybody outside of a handful of Americans care either we have too many enemies or people are ashamed of the country, or people are too afraid to be Americans of European decent....you make the call.......

Over 25% of the Confederate Army marching to Gettysburg marched barefooted. They were on average 30 pounds underweight and the average Soldier weighed 130 pounds healthy. Pennsylvanians came to watch the Southern Army March. One lady wrote in her journal that the Southern boys had a spirit their boys lacked. When Lee Marched to Gettysburg southern troops took horses, gun powder and boots and shoes. They took cows and pigs and chickens. They didn't steal possessions from inside homes or burn defenseless citizens out of their homes. They didn't rape innocent women and children like the Union Army did in the South. You are right about the weight of the Confederate Army. They were skin and bone. But they fought like demons outnumbered sometimes 5 to 1.

@@cheo1949 oh I agree Jose. It's a great thing that we can remember and honor the men on both sides that gave their lives fighting for what they believed in. I had three ancestors fight at Shiloh. Two for the South and one from the North. I have my great great grandfather's release from the Federal Army. It list the major battles he was in. It's kept in a closet in the original picture frame it was put in. He moved South and married a Southern lady a few years after the war. He was from Illinois and I had one from Mississippi and Tennessee. They all survived but my Tennessee ancestor lost a leg in the Second Battle of Franklin. He was in the First Army of Tennessee and they are the Army that coined "No Surrender." "Fight until we die" They all were almost killed.
