Some foods he recommends are extravagant rarities. I can’t recall ever having seen basil seeds in a shop shelve, not to mention organic basil seeds.
Nonetheless some suggestions (like steam/pressure cooking chickpeas to get rid of lectins) are truly good advices.
P.S.: Dr Alan Mandell recommends Chia seeds because they contain soluble fiber, which is great for microbiome.
Dr Gundry says they contain Omega 3s.
Others say they’re rich in iron.

This might sound like nonsense to a lot of people, but for a person that has had allergies since childhood, skin reactions, GI discomfort and joint pain, this makes total sense. I have systematically tested the foods that I have been suspecting made me react in a bad way (mostly listed by Dr. Gundry) and eliminated them from my diet completely or at least limit them to very special occasions and I have seen a major improvement in my skin, gut, allergies and joint pain. Sometimes is hard to detect, because a certain food can cause a reaction to you immediately but others might make a reaction a couple of days later or after reaching a certain amount or frecuency. I think there is no a one solution fits all, but I suggest you start testing and paying attention on the food you eat and how your body reacts to it, so you can start discarding the ones that make you bad, Dr. Gundry provides a good list to start with.
