- Here's another commercial for Moo & Oink featuring a later "rap" motiff (the musical style that was all the rage at the time, or so I've read)
This aired on local Chicago TV early Friday, April 17th 1992.
About The Museum of Classic Chicago Television:
The Museum of Classic Chicago Television's primary mission is the
preservation and display of off-air, early home videotape recordings (70s
and early 80s, primarily) recorded off of any and all Chicago TV channels;
footage which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved
digitally. Even though (mostly) short clips are displayed here, we
preserve the entire broadcasts in our archives - the complete programs
with breaks (or however much is present on the tape), for historical
purposes. For information on how to help in our mission, to donate or
lend tapes to be converted to DVD, and to view more of the 3,700+ (and
counting) video clips available for viewing in our online archive, please

Part of my childhood right here.
Mine TOO.
I miss this store so much, I remember my mom shopping there every Sunday.
s somebody who's lived in Chicago for 50 years, this brings back good memories.
There was nothing that creeped me out more, as a child, than when this played during the commercial break after the end of the Muppet Show and right before the beginning of Tales from the Darkside.
I just shivered reading that...the end of this commercial followed by the opening sequence from Tales From The Darkside...yikes 😱😱 no thank you!
The both of you'll soft as Charmin tissue lol
At 1 in the morning
Remember this commercial well!
Its astonishing on how much less expensive food was as recently as 1992.
What's really astonishing was that 1992 was almost 30 years ago!
I hope inflation DEflates fast. Like a balloon. The prices of food nowadays is crazy.
This is gonna be my new ringtone
Funny how the 71st & Stony Island store was more or less across the street from Mosque Maryam🙃 🥴
Love this commercial.
Those prices!!!! 👀💙
OMG that commercial freaked me out as a child lol. Now at 20 I'm looking back at my child terror memory and I now like singing along with it. LMAO.
This was one of the best stores to get meat in the African-American community. I hate that they no longer exists. I love this commercial whenever would come on TV I was sing along with it.

I’ve never been a rapper but versatile yes who would’ve thought this voice was the voice on Remember the Rain , Its just my voice credit the late Richard Peggie for writing this jingle which played more then any Chicago commercial ever.
ChiTown!
Back in the days when people rapped like Kurtis Blow
