Wizards & Warriors (Metal medley)

- Hey people! I wanted to get this one done before I say a temporary farewell to my guitars for about a year. I'm going to Japan to study, and will probably not have the means to do more songs until I'm back.
There are 4 guitar tracks in most parts of this song, and each one has a dedicated place in the window. The exception is at the very end, where sharp-eared individuals might hear two tracks I couldn't fit on the video.
I only used my Ibanez RG270DX on this one, mostly in order to show off my green strings (which didn't really show that much, but you can see them if you squint), but also since this was a bit harder than the other songs I've done, and I still play better on my Ibanez than on the Gibson.
The audio is as usual recorded through my trusty POD X3 Live. I used Cubase for the samples, the drums, while the bass and mixing was done in Sony ACID 5.0. The video editing was done in Sony Vegas 10.
The video was incredibly frustrating to record. Since I'm going away I've stowed away most off my stuff, and I accidentaly did so with my webcam. That meant the only options I had was my shit laptop cam, and my digital camera. So I used the latter, where I would have to transfer the files via memory card. And the thing runs on batteries well, so I had to recharge those when I had the chance. More than once I had to scrap a take because the battery was dead. Ugh.
I'm not including a list of what-song-starts-when, since frankly, I don't really know the names of the songs. I know the last one is the title theme, if anyone knows the names of the rest (if they have any) please tell me, and I'll update this.
This song uses standard E tuning, which for those of are you who interested but for some reason don't know is:

All in all, I'm pleased with how this one came out. It was a bit stressing to do this right before I'm off to Japan, but I really wanted it done. Big thanks to the kind reviews I've gotten for my other covers, and to those of you with suggestions: you never know if a suggestion might sway my choice for the next cover. I do take all suggestions in consideration when I choose the next song, only most suggestions usually are from myself.

Most people try and change the original song, but you go out of your way to make sure you CRUSH the original theme, and only then do you go absolutely off at 5:43.
Best cover there is and without a doubt the best cover there ever will be of this timeless classic.

Funny thing is, many games especially from 8 bit area have awsome soundtracks.
Pepple tend to think those are some beeps. But in real those are almost compositions on a level like the old masters. Like chopin, mozart, brahms, bach, rachmaninoff etc
Just look at ninja gaiden, mega man 2 & 3, batman streets of desolation, turles nes castlevania every song ex bloody tears
Those are masterpieces. Always impesses how good they sound on real guitars.
Wizards & Warriors is no doubt one of the grestest 8 bit themes if not even the greatest.

Wizards and Warriors is my all-time fave NES game and the music is so iconic. Most people I talk to about NES have never played or heard of the game, which is too bad. Really awesome!!

I was initially disappointed that it didn't start with the intro theme, but your medley is such a great cover that it didn't disappointed, and eventually lead to the great climax I had hoped it would start with. David Wise wrote some great music.

I played Wizards and Warriors a lot as a kid (it was my favorite game when I was like 6 or 7) and sometimes would just let the title song play repeatedly over and ever again, but I always wished that there was a bit more to it. I guess what I am trying to say is you fucking nailed the extended version of the main theme and my childhood thanks you.

Florian Gabele I'm really bad at keeping up with practice unless I'm actively in a band or actively recording, but when I am, it could be anything between 1 hour and 3 hours of guitar per day (more if I'm recording). There's a big difference between playing and practicing though, some day's I could practice nothing and just play random stuff that doesn't really improve me, some days I could be working on getting better for 2 hours.

I've never considered myself being able to have the right hand control to master this song but I've practiced and come to a point that I'd love to try to play it for myself.

I love the stuff you have up, very wicked. I'm a big fan of good video game music and metal. I'm actually doing a remake of the classic Dragon Warrior from NES on RPG Maker VX Ace. I tried getting this one guy to help me do a few song remakes.. but he never writes and ignores my messages.
