Sorry bro but the Konami/Upperdeck Lawsuit was bullshit! You didn't play then so you didn't know the real story. UPPERDECK was given permission to print and distribute the Hobby League cards. Konami saw the popularity of the game growing and got greedy and decided to end the contract on false pretenses. UD counter sued but Konami had more money and the settled out of court. Then Konami took over the tournaments and distribution and fucked everything. They did an amazing job and we're tarnished for no reason.
I remember when my 8th grade Math teacher introduced me and my friends to the WoW TCG back in late 2007 to early 2008. He even went as far as creating an after school club for the card game under the guise that it taught us math. He bought each one of us the Heroes of Azeroth Starter deck and even helped us build our own decks using the thousands of different cards he had in this giant white box. I remember me and my brother receiving the the Paladin decks with Graccus but soon ended up switching heroes, where his Paladin and deck were more of an attacker and while my hero and deck were more of a healer/protector. The last booster pack set I bought was the Blood of Gladiators set. Never really played much of it after graduating middle school and especially after 2009 as most of my friends and I had gone to different high schools and we had little time to spend together. Occasionally played with my brother, but even that stopped after awhile. Sad to learn that this great TCG game has been discontinued in 2013. Just found out about this today on June the 3rd of 2019. Those were good times, but all good things must come to an end eventually...

Few minutes ago I checked out Siege of Orgrimmar. And it is an awesome idea! Cleared all available dungeons and raids by my own and with friends. Hope to see more classic dungeons and raids like Stratholme and Zul'Gurub! Thank you very much for what you are doing!
I actually used to play WoW TCG during both UDE and Cryptozoic eras. I was one of rare ones in my area who didn't also play WoW MMORPG but played game because of my love for Warcraft 3 and TCGs. I still have my cards. I used to play Druid, Paladin, Priest. Rogue and Warlock decks during that time. Game ended while I was having break so it was rather shocking for me to learn that WoW TCG was no more.
There is an active WoW TCG Community on reddit, we mainly communicate in the discord. We play pvp and raids using Steam's Table Top Simulator. Glad to see you followed up and made the video! Turns out my long posts were helpful! Take care.
What happened? There is no way to make spinning tops into a competent strategy game. The best strategy was literally, "release it half a second after your opponent" and you would win. And yes, this is from someone who tried Beyblades... once, and only once. The cartoon was interesting, but the game was nothing compared to Pokemon (or probably yi-gi-oh, though I never played that). The mechanics are just impossible.
+AwsoGlitch It didn't die. They made new tops with Metal (The two series being Metal Fusion & Metal Masters) And as Jared already pointed out the new Burst tops explode upon impact.
Funny thing is... I don't like Hearthstone mostly because it doesn't feel like a card game. When you use a card, that card gets transformed into some oval shaped pebble with a picture on it. That is not a card, and it is ruining my immersion of playing a card game.
The new Valve Artifact game has the cards, but you play 3 games at once, and that too kills my immersion. "I am so elite I am playing 3 games at once" is the vibe I get from it...
I loved this game and still have a TON of cards for it, including the Onyxia and Molten Core raid decks. The game was fun and had some great mechanics but for me, the art. I even have coffee table art book. I'm happy a lot of it got reused in Harthstone. I also loved another thing they did, at least under Cryptozoic. In each pack you got a archaeology fragment. Some where cool since they had token cards on the back of them but the real use was that you could collect, I believe it was, 32 of them and send them in for a promo card or you could turn them in at the Dark Moon Faire events. I made so many friends thanks to this game. RIP.

Darko Mihajlovski midrange hunter was really good until corridor creeper was nerfed. Only tempo mage is truly OP (though exodia mage is probably the least fun deck to play against in all of hearthstone, worse than cubelock and Highlander priest)

Only good thing is their value overall is higher now as they are a dash more rare. Trying to find sealed boxes & case on ebay is crazy expensive compared to what I remember paying in hobby shops back in the day.

I don't know if anyone mentioned but you said "Holy, Discard Priest" around 8:29. I think the commenter actually meant "Holy/Discipline Priests". Both are a spec for Priest in WoW and Discipline Priests are commonly shortened to Disc.
I'm thinking about getting these cards just to have as a casual LCG-style game at home. I hear they're pretty cheap, so I don't think it would be too much of an investment. Probably start with the first expansion and work my way up from there.

Charmanderaznable this series was made because some people think that a card game or a video game series died. He wants to debunk that but most of these topics he wasn’t interested when they were relevant so he gets help from people.
The game was fun but the biggest reason the people i gamed with was the attempt to gather rare mount cards. This may not be true for everyone but it was true where i lived.

I loved my solo decks, specifically my paladin solo deck, it was great way to mix up the game play from what most people played and they got really good to build towards the end. Sadly hearthstone is hard for me to play because the oversimplification of it removed the ability to make a good solo deck.
Much like Pokemon, and Yu-Gi-Oh, I never really played the Warcraft TCG but I collected the cards for the cool art, and just my love for World of Warcraft and Blizzard. This is an interesting video for me, but it's nice seeing the TCG get attention- but to be honest, most TCGs were always confusing to me, specifically Warcraft because I couldn't really understand the game when I managed to nab a few packs and such.

Last expansion was extremely hyped up, lots of old loot cards were brought back (to get rid of the leftover stock no doubt) and after few weeks, Blizzard suddenly announced that the game is dead and there will be no more official support for it. Soon after even official forum on Cryptozoic side was completely deleted, as if the game never existed there. I felt betrayed and angry...
Wow tcg was in order to, somewhat, compete with magic (not surpass it, just compete) following the warcraft hype. The tcg exactly like it was in the PC is fine, but in mobile would be a complete nightmare. Or at least wouldnt be what blizzard wanted it to be: something quick to learn.
i do miss these things, i got a binder FULL of them even a big deck on mind, but yeah i even have hero cards like Ysera,Terongorefiend and Garona Halforcen....i have been tempted to see what they are worth if anything but naah

Of course they can. They licensed the rights to produce specific amounts of specific cards distributed through specific channels. Upper Deck knowingly printed cards they weren't suppose to and sold it in places they were suppose to.
They probably were given a limited amount of codes to put on cards, if they produced any more than that it would mean the codes would have to not work. Though I have never heard of someone getting a brand new loot card and the code not working so I doubt upper deck was even willing to try to counterfeit the WoW cards as that would be a pretty easy thing to catch on Blizzards part since they could just cross check the codes on the counterfeit cards with the codes in their system.
Never played this game but as a YGO player every time I hear Upper Deck I cringe. Not only was there the counterfeit card issue, but they also handled how cards and game mechanics were ruled in the TCG, meaning when I play old formats with friends (April 2005 "Goat" format) we have to play by rules for some cards that made no logical sense.

I've always figured it was just what certain butthurts would say about various cards in different TCGs.
Of course they can. They licensed the rights to produce specific amounts of specific cards distributed through specific channels. Upper Deck knowingly printed cards they weren't suppose to and sold it in places they were suppose to.
They probably were given a limited amount of codes to put on cards, if they produced any more than that it would mean the codes would have to not work. Though I have never heard of someone getting a brand new loot card and the code not working so I doubt upper deck was even willing to try to counterfeit the WoW cards as that would be a pretty easy thing to catch on Blizzards part since they could just cross check the codes on the counterfeit cards with the codes in their system.
Upper Deck was printing and selling cards in regions where they didn't own the licensing rights for the game.

Never played this game but as a YGO player every time I hear Upper Deck I cringe. Not only was there the counterfeit card issue, but they also handled how cards and game mechanics were ruled in the TCG, meaning when I play old formats with friends (April 2005 "Goat" format) we have to play by rules for some cards that made no logical sense.
It was the best tcg...so unique😞
