- ‘To Di For’ podcast host Kinsey Schofield says there’s a lot of pushback over the decision to honour Prince Harry at the ESPY sports awards this month.
“ESPN - one of their most highly paid, highly rated - Pat McAfee, on his show, they described this nomination as probably the most embarrassing thing they’ve seen in their entire lives,” Ms Schofield told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“This is their employer and they questioned whether the ESPY's awards committee even did their homework on its candidate search in the first place.”
The best comment I've heard is 'Pat Tillman gave up wealth to a life of service, Harry gave up a life of service to seek wealth'.

I beg to differ… The monarchy (the Firm), as requested by Queen Elizabeth II organized and set up the initial template for the Invictus Games in or about 2012 with Prince William and Prince Harry as patrons.Prince William donated initially 2,000,000 pounds and there after and nearly 1,000,000 pounds annually to support the endeavor. Prince Harry to date has not donated any known funds. Prince William became involved with the business part of the games and the organization of how the monies were to be handled. When Prince Harry left as a working Royal with his wife and child part of the agreement was that the Invictus Games Foundation was to be solely represented by the Duke of Sussex until and unless he was removed as patron by the monarchy. Notice this did not include his wife or children. Prince William at this time stepped off from the board of directors but continued his annual gift of 1,000,000 pounds until the Oprah interview. After the Oprah interview Prince William ceased any financial contributions to the Invictus Games Foundation.

The problem is we all know Harry is prepared to lie, eg the car chase in NY for one, so for him to try to destroy evidence is something I don't find hard to believe at all.

My Hope is that H is treated as anybody else would be. Considering the cost of all these cases that he has brought I would think there will be some penalty for destroying text known to be needed. How awful for Pat Tillman's mum, and those within sport and the military, to see such a travesty. Giving a prestigious award to someone who has disrespected and dishonoured his family, his country, his military colleagues is truly shocking, and I can't understand why the USA, who are big on family, patriotism, personal honour and especially respecting military veterans, can even entertain it. The arriviste wife seems to have taken over Invictus, and his conduct in the army was somewhat short of 'stellar', by all accounts. This makes me think that there must be a list of 'Awards' circulating somewhere that those with enough money and a really big mouth can 'win'. Shame on ESPN.
