  • We were very honoured to have Dr. Sylvie Kleinman speak to us and provide some wider context for the Dublin City Council Manuscript Minutes 1840 to 1880, one of the major collections we are transcribing.
Dr. Sylvie Kleinman is a professional historian and Visiting Research Fellow at the Dept of History, Trinity College, where she taught courses in European and Irish history, including 'Ireland in the Age of Daniel O'Connell'. She also taught at UCD, has spoken at the National Library of Ireland on visual representations and cartoons of Daniel O'Connell.
In 2017, Dr. Kleinman’s essay ‘Where Crown met Town: The Presence of Lay Catholics and Daniel O’Connell, the Uncrowned Monarch of Ireland in the Chamber of Dublin Castle, c. 1795-1845’ was published by Irish Academic Press in Myles Campbell & William Derham, eds., Making Majesty The Throne Room at Dublin Castle a Cultural History (Dublin, OPW & Irish Academic Press, 2017), 160-199.
