This series was interesting, but ultimately unsatisfying. When all we saw of the aliens was the "robot dogs", it was chilling and terrifying. At that time, we still had seen the actual aliens. I thought it was a real disappointment when the "aliens" show up looking exactly like the bedraggled human survivors, wearing the same kind of clothes and even using human guns as weapons. Instead of human vs. aliens, it looked more like a battle between rival gangs in some dystopian future. The viciousness of the aliens also made no sense. They wanted a cure for their species degeneration, but instead of asking for help, they wiped out humanity. I was glad that they brought the story to a definite end, rather than leave it on a cliff hanger. Although the ending was a bit of a gimmick. The doctor uses the alien space ship to go back in time, and he kills Emily, who is the progenitor of the alien race. With her death, time is rewritten and no invasion takes place. All of that death and misery has been prevented. The doctor is the only one left with memories of the original time line..

They really had such an unnerving, interesting vibe with the pods landing and the "uneasy calm" as everyone is taking precautions and then boom, a brain EMP turns the world into a deserted wasteland within a single scene and you don't even see it
one of the worst series ever, so much potential wasted....also multiple languages used for authenticity, but if watching eng version the french and german parts are not force untertitled, forced subtitles are a must if you are not fluent in all used languages.....

those are active by default and usually embedded f.e. in scifi or horrors where an alien screeches and you have subtitles show up with "translation" to main language usually spoken in the movie also mostly english, automated subtitles f.e. for deaf people oftens fcuk up and you have a transcript of english spoken /that you dont need/ but when a character switches to spanish the subtitle says "person speaks foreign language" ...great.......doh........and by the way I am not native in english and speak 6 languages, it is annoying if you focus on understandning the english part and suddenly some characters switch to french or japanese and there are no subs....specifically in this series there were segments lasting 7+ minutes where you got lost @@justinmagee2203

Ten reasons this is a super dumb show made only for the lowest denominators watching it. CAN"T STAND SHOWS that can't survive with its logic.
!.) there are 8 billion people on this globe but somehow handful of aliens without their failing technology can overcome humanity please if every human on the planet were as dumb as Americans perhaps.
2.) If the blind tool is not an alien how is it that her biological brother is still 100% human you don't need a PhD in biology to know that is impossible.
3.) Love how in American series they always find a time for a character to get freaky dicky with someone who they should not be getting parallel with.
4.) The Aliens are not consistent in season one they are dying season two they dominate the world there is a thing called biological adaptation regardless of how advanced their tech is.
5.) If the Aliens are so willing to commit genocide they should be wiped out from the surface of the earth and any aiding humans along with it.
6.) The "experienced" army guys are taken out like toy soldiers where did they receive their training? come on that was the first red flag.
7.) I find it sexist that two women go out in search of birthday cake did they bake cookies too and wash clothing?
8.) Was it me of the dumb blind tool who suffers from Stockholm syndrome getting freaky with a dude who pointed a gun at her head PLEASE!
9.) Black kid was made into trojan horse what a shock there, and also takes out the only supply of the virus LOL
10.) Killing the blind tool couldn't have stopped the invasion since they stated several times that the Aliens traced the music signal to Earth.

Unless they're expansionist, Earth itself has no resources that can't be harvested in an asteroid belt or Oort cloud.
This feels incredibly like there was a season 3 planned, but they learned the series wouldn't be renewed after shooting almost all of season 2. Then they wrap up the plot in the fastest way possible without leaving too much hanging. If that is the case, hats off to the producers/writers/show runners/etc. They gave the series closure instead of letting it hang on a never to be completed cliffhanger forever if I am correct. I wish more shows were able to adjust in that manner if this was the scenario at play. It just seems the most likely to me because it ends abruptly and it seems the size of the cast was cut fairly dramatically to wrap the story up with the smallest budget possible. I could be very wrong, I didn't look into the history of the series, if it is out there, but it just struck me that this was the case after such a swerve when it seemed like bigger plans and a more in depth story seemed planned from the beginning. Does it feel like a room full of showrunners got together and figured out the quickest way to end the series on a semi high note while keeping the budget constrained to anyone else?

War of the worlds, was one of my favorite movies, so i had high hopes for this series, but it wasn't as good, sadly ...
I felt the book was way better then the movie....the way the aliens looked in the movies just didn't do it for me lol

This could've been so much better with all the plot potential the series had. Keyword: had. I was really enjoying how the professor and Catherine were figuring out ways to counter the alien robots. Then boom! The whole plot went downhill with the actual aliens being just humans from another timeline. Not even with fancy advanced technology like Cyberpunk game or Star Wars or even Star Trek. Bruh. They shouldn't even use the name War of the Worlds in the first place. I thought this was like that movie with Tom Cruise in it. If the plot of the series was like the movie, it could've been so much better. But now, it's just another bad alien series to me. Just my opinion. So glad I didn't watch the whole series and instead watched this recap. Saved me from wasting my time more than just an hour or two. Thanks Daniel CC.

I'm at the part of robodogs and something just doesn't add up with the original story. Also, it is too obviously copying Black Mirror episode Metalhead (forgivable if the same team worked on this, I don't know about that).
EDIT: I haven't seen the series, but reading an article about the creation of these robodogs (by Boston Dynamics, BTW), it is mentioned they use bolt-guns, not guns (again, similar to Metalhead). So, am I correct they don't shoot, but use it in the cow slaughtering way?
They ones in the series seem like they have both. They can shoot people from range, it's not quite clear with what, and up close they definitely kill with a captive-bolt thing.
@@thomasjoychild4962 Yup, I noticed one scene with them shooting something. Anyway, I finished the recap and the story kind of didn't make sense - cause and effect were completely mixed up with the time travel, virus and the reason for human genocide.
And in all honesty, I don't get how those dumbass robodogs could go against military with basically unlimited ammo and ammo types. Them dogs carried maximum 150 rounds per snout.

Okay before I say anything about the TV series war of Worlds, I'd like to say this was the best recap I've ever watched it was awesome, and the storytelling was mesmerizing, you guys do amazing work, thank you. Now as far as The Story Goes in many ways it made very little sense to me what would be the point in destroying your past all the people they killed wouldn't that have an effect on the future if you kill everyone in the past how can there be a future it just made no sense to me
Creation of another timeline
Okay first let's review what happened in the movie when the doctor through the young girl off the building the timeline was changed and everything basically went back to the way that it was, so why in the first place get dry descendants want to kill off all of their ancestors, ask for the timeline Theory you have it is very interesting and the possibility is, it could happen but remember when you create a new timeline things radically change in one timeline a man is a doctor on a branch timeline he's a garbage collector in the original timeline the mother had three children on the brunch timeline she only has one in the original timeline the character was Mel and the branch timeline he becomes female so even though it is a different timeline it is also a new creation so those trying to save the future would not be saving themselves they would be creating a recreating the timeline where they would no longer exist thanks for reply you have a very creative mind and I do agree with you have a great day God bless Mike@@TheKrispyfort
