    If you print the pieces in white (and don't spray paint) it looks like it would make a nice light box for taking pictures too.

    It would be good to have a foldable taped construction that you can quickly store and set up. Where the tape is also hinges. Of course tape is not to be taken off, one could have velcro for the spots where the connection needs to be undone for storage.

    I've seen other spray boots DIY around and this one is the easiest so far.
    Only thing: be carefull with the fan. The solvent of the spay paints are usually flammable, so be sure to use an electric fan that does not create sparkles

      This is a good point. I have literally hundreds of hours on one of these without any issues. I think the concentration level needed for ignition will be next to impossible to achieve and the fan in this case is brushless AC so it should be good. Still worth mentioning though.

    This is a great idea, thanks! I was looking for a good DIY solution for an airbrushing booth and this one is perfect. Since I don't care about color this will also allow me to burn up some of the random leftover filament I have laying around.

      I thought this was a given, since it should suck the air through the filter out. That seems the only logical way of placing the ventilator, otherwise toxic fumes air flow will come towards your face which you don't want.

There are 3d print services out there online. I know you cand upload and order prints from PCBWay.com and I love their service for example.

    • @DreadMakerRoberts
      @DreadMakerRoberts  Před 2 lety

      They get through. This brings up a few things in people's minds. First the filter is for the particulate not the gasses. Second the 7% ratio of solvent to air ratio needed to ignite it if it hits the motor spark will not happen.

    it is not that cheap to make when you take the 3d printer into account, and not only that you can seem to be only able to get that Box Fan in the American Amazon Branch, and not the others, the German site would be better for me as I would not have to pay Customs fee only snag about it is mostly only does EU plugs and not UK 3 pin plugs which we use in Ireland.
