Roccat prioritizes flashy colors and gimmicks.
Endgame Gear focused on updating the sensor, improving side buttons, and keeping the weight down.
It's easy to tell which wireless mouse I preordered.
Almost like different companies can market products for different target audiences.
Really wanted endgame wireless to have rgb. I will for sure pick one up when it releases. Using their wired one now. My fav so far. Will try roccat for shits and giggles
I ordered the Roccat on Amazon so I cqn return it if I dont like, but the thing that drives me to it over the xm2r is its dimensions. It's slightly smaller than the xm2r.
I feel like you strawman a lot when it comes to people who were disappointed with the weight. I don't have a problem with 80 gram mice, I like using the Fantech XD3V2, g303 SE, and even the Deathadder cuz it's comfy, it's just I'm a big fan of the burst pro shape and wanted it to remain around the same weight if only 5 grams heavier since it's wireless. I then look at the competition like the XM2w being lighter than the XM1 (I'm curious to see if there was build quality sacrifice) and then the XD3V2 that offers similar specs at almost half the price at the same weight. Adding more than 10 grams to it seemed unnecessary. Anyway, I do always love watching your vids. Keep up the great work!
strawman?
@@TheTechne Strawman argument, sorry should have been more clear. "A straw man fallacy occurs when someone takes another person's argument or point, distorts it or exaggerates it in some kind of extreme way, and then attacks the extreme distortion, as if that is really the claim the first person is making."
Technically, 80 grams is not heavy, but relative to today's gaming mice market, it is. Roccat has also marketed this as "extreme lightweight", which is objectively incorrect at this point. Roccat has even posted an article on their own website about lightweight gaming mice and what they consider to be "lightweight." In it, they write that they would consider "lightweight" to be anything under 80 grams, which this mouse is not, much less so "extreme lightweight." The Kone Pro Air is a bigger mouse than this and it is also lighter, so Roccat definitely has the ability to make this mouse lightweight. I have a Burst Pro and I think it is a fantastic mouse, but adding on 10-12 grams for a wireless mouse with as much attention to RGB is a miss for me and I'm sure many others. The Burst Pro's biggest competitor, the XM1r, is getting a wireless version that EGG has managed to reduce the weight on it by the same amount that Roccat added, so it's a shame that Roccat missed the mark on this release. I would have easily purchased this over the XM2w if Roccat had even kept the weight the same as the wired (give or take a couple grams, like the Pulsefire Haste Wireless). The difference between a ~65g mouse and an 80g is not insignificant; it has nothing to do with strength but rather ease of use and fluidity of motion and effort required.
I play much worse with an extremely lightweight mouse, less control. This over hyped up extremely lightweight craze is was over done. Every company can make a super lightweight mouse, with placing quality as a second concern, if even.
@@TheTechne That’s fine, and I’m not saying anyone is wrong or right for liking heavier or lighter mice. It’s all preference, but Roccat does have a good track record with build quality and they could have easily made this lighter to compete with the rest of the market, so it’s disappointing that they didn’t. I also aim worse with extremely light mice; I do much better with a GPX than a SL-12, but I also perform better and am generally more comfortable in that 60-67g range than anything else. I don’t think the lightweight trend is overdone but I do think it goes overboard when people nitpick over less than 5 grams
@@TheTechne it's not a craze because people aren't going to just go back to 80+ gram mice, and yes, when you've used 40 gram mice for over a year 80 grams is going to feel heavy in comparison
@tyler babey you are missing the point. He is simply advocating for people that think going lighter and lighter is silly and not everyone's preference. Try and focus on watching the entire video and seeing someone else's perspective before you nit pick.
I have all sort of mice 40-100 grams. I can use all of them Just fine... People adapt...I surely do. In about 30m I can use any mouse and adapt to it.
Techne: "No rattling, no creaking"
Mouse: *creaks*
Ur right I heard the sound on the white one.
yehn lol
? i dont hear it
The shape is amazing, but for the weight its less that 80g is *heavy* its more of just like why when the competition is able to go wireless AND make it lighter.
GPX is known for being flimsy and plagued with QC. Companies chase weight at the cost of quality, while most of people find 70-80 grams as their sweet spot. So i'd rather have solid 80g wireless mouse than flimsy 60 grams one, and i'm pretty sure alot of people would agree with me.
But not as good, and or not as sturdy. I have a glorious model d and it’s my favorite mouse so I can’t really be talking but I have gone through 2 because my siblings come into my rooms and play with it lol.
I prefer quality over les weight, many companies make extremely lightweight mice, that are built like trash
Shape is amazing and that is it... just saw some other review and this mouse creaks and activates side buttons with a moderate grip. It even creaked on this review, but the reviewer had no interest in bringing it up. If you think weight means quality 80 grams didn't do it this time, maybe 120 grams? I'm sure a couple more grams of RGB will add a lot of quality to it.
@@patkluivert4110 You did see Techne pressing the sides and no buttons activated? I dunno what review you're talking about, but i owned regular burst pro and that also didn't happen in that mouse. And about creaking - every mouse creaks at some point. If i press my xm1r sides really hard it will creak, and nobody says that mouse has bad QC. You realize that shedding weight with wireless mice is way harder than with wired, because you have to remember there's a battery that will always increase the weight of your mouse? People had no problems with GPW at 80 grams, yet when Logitech dropped 20 grams of weight with Superlight it became a QC nightmare. MM 731 is sub 60 grams and i don't se anybody praising that mouse. Professional gamers don't sweat about the weight that much yet casuals act like 15 grams more on a mouse is more important than high FPS and smooth gameplay.
70g to 80g is ideal for me. I currently use Xm1 rgb but will give this one a shot. Waiting for an xm2 rgb wireless tbh.
I don’t know how this is even a remotely competitive product. Glorious has the RGB, good sensors, nice shape and competitive pricing and it’s also lighter. You act like weight isn’t an issue with it but will then say I prefer the weight. So which is it? The weight doesn’t provide an issue and is consequently not important or it is a salient point worth mentioning?
So the weight is the only selling point rn 😆?
Signed up for that cube, that'd be fun decor on the desk. If it displays time in a playful way that'd be super cool.
how was it
That box toss was epic, Techne!
Of course, a mouse is always a very subjective matter for the user, but I think 80 grams is a sweet spot for me. I think it's "healthy" for a mouse to have a bit of weight, to help with Control. But still so that it is not too heavy. I use a Cordura Gaming Mousepad, which is a speed glide mat, with such a fast mat my experience is that 80g is perfect.
The ideal weight of the mouse is directly related to the game played, but the mouse pad is a big factor in the matter. Of course, it can also be the case that those who use the Control mat feel that a mouse weighing less than 80 grams is better. So it is understandable, when you take into account the factors, that the opinion varies.
Got mine today, been waiting for this since I tried the wired when it came out. Super solid
LETS GO!! Try every gaming mouse that comes out this year! That’s a neat cube by the way. I would be interested in content for tech that we can add to our gaming setups.
If roccat make this mouse 65-70 gram and put pixart 3395 sensor, it will the best mouse ever.
Already got mine preordered from the site. As soon as it was available for preorder I didn't give it a second thought. Loved the Kone, and i feel like this is gonna be the mouse for me. Plus you cant be a true gamer without all the RGB. XD Thanks for another awesome vid Techne.
No creaking?
Literally as you said “no creaking” there was indeed a creak.
Not that I care I just found that funny
Looks great but I wish it was lighter. I’ve used a really heavy mouse weighing 120 grams and my new mouse weighs 60 and I’m sure 80 isn’t terrible I would prefer lighter
I got the wired burst pro based on your recommendation and it is one of my favorite mice of all time. I'll have to check this one out too. Is the coating the same?
The 100hour battery is only true with Bluetooth right? Do you know how long it lasts in 2,4ghz mode?
2 days with 50% brightness.
@@euphraosStuff How many hours?
@@fLixuy 2 days = 48hrs. Do ur math homework pls
@@veryinterestingpersonaliti8321 pretty sure he was using the mouse for 48 hours straight... smh
So glad to receive what good portion of us gamers wanted for a long time 80grams great build and clicks with good sensor. The question I’m interested in is if you will be maining it from now on?
I really like the rgb on those it's not as in your face on these as some of the other company's mice. Roccat seems to make such solid stuff.
People have to remember, the three biggest competitors to this mouse are made by Endgame, Zowie, and Vaxee. They are going to have to do the most to get this mouse under 70 grams and compete with those brands. Think about how hard it is to move on from the NP-01, for instance. The gold standard for build quality. Its hard to use a lesser quality mouse.
I would definitely buy this if it was lighter. Might buy it and do a weight reduction mod.
Can you turn off the RGB?
Personally I prefer lighter mice for competitive shooters but when the game I am playing is less flicky and more tracking based I like to pull out a heavier mouse as I can be more precise I play a lot apex fortnite and valorant though so I don't need tracking as much so I use a lighter mouse to flick easier this mouse would be my perfect sweet spot between light and a heavy mouse
Ive been a Roccat user for over 6 years now....... Im waiting for the kone pure wireless. I would settle for a Kone pro air mini
Ooooooo I'm so excited for that white one
Just placed order through your link! Ty for covering the topic
Totally agree, I don't like super light mice. I want the burst air pro!
One of the few mice I didn’t preorder it looked underwhelming to me.
Furthermore I’m hating my kone pro airs scrollwheel it keeps activating backwards when I roll forwards and other way around.
I love the pro air but I have same issue with scroll wheel.
@@TheGreedyKing yeah it’s really damn annoying
It's weird that the Kone Pro / Wireless is lighter while being bigger in size. As if Roccat made the Burst heavier intentionally so that they can ask for a price premium for the Kone Pro.
The wowcube. Was unexpectedly funny to see in a mouse review video
I love the shape of the wired one, but the lift off distance or something to do with the sensor always felt weird to me I could never get used to it. Hoping that maybe the added weight might help stabilise it for me.
That wow cube would be good for my mom, she loves games like that.
Amen, not every mouse needs to be superlight.
Amen.
Even as a enthusiast of gaming perishables, I couldn’t justify the buy of the burst pro air when the fanatic Bolt, HyperX Pulsefire haste wireless, or even the Logitech G303 exists. Or even the unreleased Endgame Gear Xm2w thats up for pre-order. To each their own, but I feel like Roccat missed the mark with this release.
your missing out man
Looks nice but im more in to a wired mouse. I just returned the Kone xp since the sensor was of and being wierd. I missed every skill shot with it. Im gona stick with the Kone pro alltho i do admit the burst looks nice.
You do realize the Kone xp and the pro has the same sensor. If the Kone xp felt bad it had to be faulty.
@@kerotomas1 Yes i know but i could not even click on my files without the sensor was of or doinf this wierd slingshot movement
Would be cool if instead of just adding more rgb to the front, they would replace the rgb on the body and moved it to the triggers. Kinda like the kone pro. Because the rgb on the triggers is kind of something unique to roccat and the rgb on the burst pro wired already looked a bit stupid anyways
I’d love to use these new Roccat mice if they were to just use regular mechanical switches. I can’t stand optical switches. Can’t get used to them.
This is what we like to see! Going to be snagging one
Huge miss putting an old sensor in a new "pro" model mouse.
I have the burst pro and been dreaming about it being wireless but this ain’t it. Maybe if it goes on sale like half off I’ll try it .
the only concern for me is the double clicking and I this does not have issues like my logitech g304
How do the clicks compare to the Kone pro Air switches and the wired burst pro clicks (coming from maining the RVU)
I just got my kone xp.....i need it in wireless too! that would be my pefect mouse
Just picked up one of these bad boys up
Mice should not cost $100+ I hate how companies get away with this shit. Sure back when wireless mice were just starting to make their way into the gaming space the price is justified but now there are so many wireless options for half the price
i love those clicks
really better mice out there, unless your still in that rgb phase for your periphals
Its $55 right now great buy
I love how he calls roccat rocket
Anybody looking for a solid light weight mouse get a razer viper mini. It is very good imo.
It’s too small and I don’t even have big hands
No way… that shit is a crap
Burst weird without rgb is the one
@@veryinterestingpersonaliti8321 no, roccat mice are middle of the pack. The stock feet are bad like 99% of stock ptfe and the sensor is mid. The xm1r and the gwolves hati s both have good stock feet, better sensors, and a better cable.
It's been a few months and the technical data on this mouse is out, and it's bad.
Even if you're ok with a heavy mouse, the high latency and sluggish response of the Burst Pro Air should be a deal breaker.
It's a shame, I like the shape and the side button placement. All I wanted was better mouse 1&2 clicks with competitive wireless performance to Logitech and Razer.
But Roccat failed. Poor latency, heavy weight, and focus on RGB and not performance.
Was thinking about this or the xm2w when it comes out, any thoughts? I currently have the g502 wired and finding my hand/wrist gets pain, typically relaxed finger/palm grip. Thought maybe a smaller/lighter mouse would alleviate some of that.
If you like the G502 shape you could probably look into the Roccat Kone Pure Air. Weighs in just a little over 70 grams and is more ergonomic than the 2 mice mentioned if that's your preference. I own an original XM1 and find it comfortable for my large sized hands, but the coating can be a bit slippery for my extremely dry hands at times.
Depends the shape u want to try
The XM2/2 is bit wider
ngl that wow cube was pretty cool
I have a question man @The Techne , how does the coating feel compared to the Kone Pro Air ? Is it the same ?
Burst better imo.
Kone Pro Air are too slippery
Both Black and White versions.
it's a no for me. i have the xm2w pre ordered instead
No creaking **literally hear the mouse creak**
That is a real good looking mouse in white.
Hi sir...could you please do a video of comparison of gpx and starlight final mouse 12...
And Mic comparison between shure sm7b and hyperx quadcast s
The shure for sure. Ba dum tiss. No but seriously, yeah. Less chance at picking up keyboard clicks etc
Can’t wait for my to come in
I loved the mouse.
tbh i had a roccat kone pro air and now i have the logitech pro the new one . and in gaming the logitech i much better
I only miss a dongle adapter.
looks stinkin good 👍
such a great product
I’ve had one for months and they get creeky
Hi Techne, can you review JBL Quantum One
someone call Roccat and remind them that their keebs r still wired
is the clicks as stiff as the wired one? or more lighter now?
yes same
is this rechargable?
lil 2x2 rubiks cube smart device nice
my boy on that D2 grind
it never ends right, lol
Roccat
The only company I RESPECT 2022
Nice to see they not are not into that
“bUt MoM wE nEeD LiGhT wEiGhT mOuSe” shit show
I'm going to have to move up to 2lb dumbbells in my workouts to be able to use this thing. Hopefully I don't hurt myself.
take it easy now
@@TheTechne Yea, I hit the Gym too hard, took too much Pre-workout, and accidently destroyed my Xlite with my strength, but at least my Burst Pro Air felt light after that!
80 grams in 2022 is just lazy design and bad for marketing. Bet they could have made it lighter easily.
Nah. The whole market is lazy and shit rn.
is it a sponsored review?
Hmmm interesting 👀
Btw... Razer Viper Pro V2 already exist 😱
;)
unfortunately to heavy... 60-70grams are better.
i ended up buying this mouse, but i almost didnt because you are starting to give off car salesman vibes
to be honest i dont like the fact that roccat cant make an actual esports mouse like gpx superlight or viper v2 pro and they just keep adding this shitty aimo billion zone lighting which makes the mouse 81g and then they advertise it as extreme lightweight lmao
and by any means i dont mean that its to heavy, myself i upgraded from a 110g mmo mouse to an xm1r and i cant even feel the 40g difference but its bad that they just have to turn this mouse into a rgb shell rather than make it better while sacrificing the rgb
Just found this mouse for 57 dollars on amazon
Just found it for 45 dollars on Amazon
Does it still have the weird coating on it? That is the only issue I have with this mouse, it's the only mouse that has ever made my hand sweat profusely.
81g for a wireless mice in 2022.
big yiiikes.
nah
@@TheTechne Sry mate i have to disagree pretty badly at this point. We will see so many 50-60g wireless mice with pixart 3395 or 3399 in 2022. Its just stupid to sell a mice with 81g in 2022. Its not about the shape or quality (both are fine), its about the fact roccat didnt even try to optimise the weight at all. The "mice war" in 2022 is about weight and not about "bling bling RGB". Roccat can also go for 1rgb and 1 non rgb version to reduce weight (like the endgame mice). But they dont even try to do it. I dont know. This burst pro air is a big disappointment from my point of view.
@@Lawandfun I think u needs to go outside and touch some grass mate. 81g is not heavy at all for a big boy even 😆
80 gr is crap in 2022
seems like a sick mouse
very
hmmm wow i like the white . Hmm better then my model O lol wink or yours might have to get one.
should have titled the video WOW Cube advertisement since that's the majority of the video. do better.
FINALLY 😍
well..... i use a 139g mouse
Amazing!! You asked for it. You got it.
Thank you for reviewing it!!
Holy smokes! I need to get one of these WoW cubes :)
Lmao
Look up review of mouse,
8 minutes long
first 3:30 is some crappy ad about some stupid unrelated cube.
Everyone complaining about 80g…🙄
They probably couldn’t get the M65 to the register.
I love a hefty mouse could have gone bigger imo, my current lineup is the IronClaw wireless , Deathadder wireless, and the Kone Pro Air. This one will probably find its way in there I loved the wired version for FPS.
And a adder one 3370 sens 😅😂😂😂
80 grams is heavy FOR A GAMING MOUSE lol..... you will allways play better with a lighter mouse... your hand weighs "nothing" and that is the most easy thing to move around..... This mouse is bulky and ugly phhh RGB don't need it
A lot of PROs use a 80g+ mouse
Are u a PRO gamer? LOL…
@@veryinterestingpersonaliti8321 "A LOT" okay okay name some then
thats (kinda) true only for fps, not everybody plays fps ;)
Lmao calling out the haters omg that got me NGL 😂
This is a poor review.
