      Young st you are right. Joo Sae Hyuk that Tournament was just supreme, the only reason he didnt beat Schlage(who was also amazing that tournament) in the finals was because Schlagers main training partner was Chen Weixing a defender in my opinion

      @@Goriaas He lost to Matsushita many times.Ma Lin wasn't really dominant against choppers,his spinny loop didn't cut it he had to either loop kill the ball or hit a touch shot but he would get into trouble if the defender attacked his push.

      Penholder can eat a chopper alive.
      Their grip gives them a huge advantage against choppers.
      Watch Xu Xin luftig the ball so effortless until the right ball comes which he can kill with force and crazy angles.

    I think maybe joo had difficulty adjusting to the xu xin being left handed. Since in the long rallies he would start chopping and moving xu towards xu's backhand area (left side of the table for joo), but since xu was still using his forehand it ended up opening up xu's angle of attack. If joo was doing the same postisioning strategy (hitting to the left side of the table for joo) against a righthander it would close off their angle of attack rather than open it up. Just an idea though.

  • @hobbes203

    xu xin specialty are the big forehand loops which he does from mid-distance so he has time to use them. chops allow him to use these so close to the table and with comfortable amount of time, joo really had a bad matchup.

  • @Enkidu1701
    @Enkidu1701 Před 12 lety

    XuXin played a perfect game. His forehand is incredible. He can spin every ball with highest quality. I haven´t seen a player who is so good in touch with the ball. I mean you even can hear how good he is in touch with the ball when you turn up the volume a little.
    And BTW
    I like Joo very much and he did not play bad at all but he had no chance. I see no other player in the world who could do to Joo what XX did.

    许昕的策略是中路拉高吊控制住,然后两个大角一两板内直接冲死。朱世赫的确没有什么办法。跟马龙和张继科比,许昕正手弧圈引拍更大,所以冲下旋球时摩擦时间更长,威力更大。

    @IIkingdomII I think Malin did it better, but I don't wish to see him in 2012 Olympics again. The reason they did it better than Zhang/MaLong I believe lies in that they have more variations in their games. Malin has all sorts of variation in term of length/spin/rhythm etc, and XX here has pretty much intentional rhythmic/spin variations too.

    The World #1 Forehand is Xu Xin. His forehand is a few notches higher than even the World #1 Ma Long. If XX has a better backhand, he will be superior to anyone in the world.
    If everyone has Xu Xin's forehand, chopper style will not exist, because it is simply so slow that the forehand looper t will take time using only forehand to slaughter a chopper.

      @bryanwells4063 Před rokem

      sorry he might not like xu xin because it is a bad matchup and it takes away his chances for the gold, but im sure he deeply respects xu xin as a player, he knows that his playstyle has flaws and xu knows exactly how to take advantage of those flaws. Xu Xin played perfectly and Joo excepts that he will lose if the opponent plays perfectly. A defender just stands no chance since they depend on the opponents mistakes, if the opponent makes no mistakes he will lose. You see him nod and shake XX's hand at the end, they all deeply respect each others game

  • @reinterpret_cast
    @reinterpret_cast Před 11 lety

    It's only because he does it suddenly. If he'll do it more often, his opponent would get used to it and then Joo has no chances (neither his equipment or his skill in offensive game can match his opponents unless Joo plays a defender). I don't mean Joo has poor skills in offense, but if, say, he spends 50% of time practicing loop and block while his opponent (same level player) spends 90% on that, Joo has no chances.

    @chengqu1964 I like XX's forehand loop a lot more than ZJK's too (not to mention Malong's; ZJK has overall better fh loop than Malong). But the problem with XX is that he imitated shakehand's style much more than he should. His forehand loop is weaker (than top notch fh players) when it comes to looping topspin. He has a very hard time playing against ZJK when it comes to forehand because ZJK's forehand loop has more strength (spin). Not only that, his backhand also can't be as good.

    No way ZJK as a better forehand loop than MaLong. Ma long FH loop is better as first big loop as well as better in counterloop. ZJK as to force his loop to make is powerfull, Ma long FH loop is naturally strong. U just have to look : ZJK as various gestures for his FH, larger, shorter...ect.....Ma Long FH loop is always the averall same gestures.
    MA long can loop easy over the table, ZJK can not do it easy. Both are players to emulate BTW and both are fantastics.
