I just wondered what if Magkaroon tayo ng mga teleseryes na about sa Pre colonial Philippines. Sobrang interesting nun 🥺💓 katulad Nalang sa Kdrama Sobrang detailed yung history nila.
We already had in Amaya but it was set in the Visayas region. not in the Luzon.
Very well said
Pag imported maganda. Pag locally made, d maganda.
Maraming historian kasing madalas mina-mock yung production team and they always has something to say lalo na kapag may kaakibat na history ang palabas.
Binibining Mia's stories have been a huge influence to me, that it brought me here to learn how great our culture is. I'd watched this documentary so late. But never too late to learn it. The good documentation was even more helpful.

Mahirap ba tlgang sabihin man lng ung katotohanana na un.
before muslim came Philippines practice paganism, hinduism and believe in Bathala.
Not all datus are muslims.
mahidi not da ntire philippine archipelago was islamized at dat time. during da era of lakan dula, it was da dawn or early phase of the islamization of tundo/manila. not total islamization. it was because of the xpansion of the bruneian empire at dat time. its xpansion was of palawan , mindoro and tundo/manila only. brunei called manila dat time as kota seludong. take note, it doesn't include da islands of visayas , northern mindanao n northern luzon. rajahnate of cebu and rajahnate of butuan in northern mindanao resisted islamization of dat time. so these rajahnates continued to practice their local indianized animistic religion. as I said earlier, back to tundo, its islamization is not total but was still on da process at dat time. one spanish chronicler n historian said in their book dat, dat lakans or datus of manila n some locals had muslim names but islam was not practiced completely. so the spanish conquest of of manila, mindoro n palawan put an end to islamic influence . they were all baptized to Catholicism. it was very easy for the Spaniards to baptized the locals since islam was not yet fully established at dat time in tundo/manila.

We really need to look back and re-discover ourselves.
This is what I want to learn 😭 our rich and wealthy country before the invasion of Spaniards. Kasi nakaka-proud ang lahi. At nakakalungkot at the same time dahil iba ang pinaniwala sa atin.
@Marcus D GREAT what is your perspective or definition of 'province'? Or taga Probinsya? Can you enlighten me about that Manileño?
Rajah Soliman was defeated because the Visayans from Visayas teamed up and helped the spaniards. The rivalry of the Tagalogs and the Bisaya ever since
@Marcus D GREAT 🤣👌

Architecture base in this thousand gate(Gapura/Gerbang) in Indonesia, and few in Malaysia. Philippine have non(only their master Spanish, even Mexico, and Central America have Aztec and Maya Temple Pyramid)
Many others old city or old village (non European Colonial) in Southeast Asia like Town of Luang Prabang, Loas, Kotagede Yogyakarta Indonesia, in Burma, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia. BUT NON IN PHILIPPINE even name of country without shame is THE SON SLAVE KING OF PHILIPE OF SPAIN, Philippine have no identity, rename to "Maharlika, Nusaisa(One Island), Nusanegara(the Island country), or Malaynesia(the Malays race islands), Malayunesia, Malayanesia, much better.
Please let's me know Philippine herritage site, culture site, ancient ruins, medieval building, ruins, structure build by Filipinos. (Southern Muslim in southern Philippine are just Malaysian-Indonesia culture, just like Southern Thailand they are not same in North Thailand, Southern Thailand similar to Malaysian)
@@safuwanfauzi5014 Look for the stone houses of Ivatan and the rice terraces (Ifugao) in the Cordierra mountains. There is even evidence the old Tondo city was built on top of what it is today and the same goes for the city before Intramuros. Those are the few they made. The inhabitants of the isles back then were animists. They respected nature enough not to make huge permanent structures with the exception of it being for survival. The islands had polynesian roots so they focused more on sea faring trade. The island was and still is a paradise. People can get by with simple living structures. Other countries made long lasting structures but that is due to their beliefs, outer country war/invasions and the climate. Japan has a similar climate with the difference of having more than one or two seasons. They made more permanent structures after a Chinese faction from China went to what is now Japan. But if you look at people before that they were similar, they were animists and often did not make permanent structures. Areas with more than summer as their season tend to make sturdy dwellings in order to get by winter, drought, ect. which the isles did not have (much of). If anything that doesn't mean the cultures are less sophisticated. Literacy rates in the isles had a huge scope that even slaves and women could read and write and it was common that even slaves owned gold jewelry passed down from their family. There are still undiscovered things waiting to be found in the country.

IWitness has proven itself as an outstanding news documentary outfit. I commend Sandra Aguinaldo and her team for highlighting an otherwise unknown glorious past of the Kingdom of Tondo. My dad was a Tondo Boy, and mighty proud of it, as I am of him. His brother, Manuel Principe Bautista, an acclaimed poet and writer, also wrote proudly of the Tondo he grew up in. Thank you, GMA.

Ngi.... salamat pooo
I really love history. Thanks for this report.

Sana magkaroon ng own channel ang i witness. Para di halo halo. Pero kung hindi talaga pwede. I really Love this documentary.

Indeed Reality. Im Crying! Yes, The Philippines WAS prosperous. 😔 It's okay to embrace the new generation but I'd love to embark the history that we were glorious, golden and civilized country with ethical leaders.
Filipino, do you have any stone-brick ruins, in Southeast Asia, all country have it, except Timor(which do not have civilization do not have own wriitng script and do not have any stone brick ruins and structure)
Timor and Philippine the only country do not have ancient and medieval/pre-european/pre-spanish stone-brick even wooden structure like Palace, temple, Mosque that still exist today. it shame.
Philippine have = NON!!(Suluk, Bajau, Iranun, Maranao or Bangsamoro is just like Malays Brunei, Malaysia, Indonesia. the Keris culture people unlike "the real Philippine in Luzon, Manila, Visaya, Christian in Mindanao(North, central, east, Southeast of Mindanao), Palawan have NON!!) even pagoda mosque native architecture build by Sulu/Tausg, Bajau, Iranun, Maranao do not repair, rebuild and maintain
Timor Have=NOTHING(Portuguese Lover and Slave, poor same level to Angola, Mozambique and others Portuguese lover, only Bugis people just like Sulu/Tausug, Bajau-Sama, Iranun, Maguidanao, Maranao, Yakan, Malay/Melayu, Makassar, Javanese, Minangkabau have highest culture and civilzation, body armor, cannon, gun, malay cannon like Rentaka, istinggar(musket/arquebus) which non timor have it )
Indonesia have = Candi Prambanan, Candi Borobudur, Candi Sukuh(Indonesia Pyramid), Keraton Kaibon Banten(Or Indonesia Ayutthaya), Istana Besar Pagaruyung(most famous, even more famous than Sumatra old temple like Candi Muara Takus Riau Sumatra, and Candi Muaro Jambi, Sumatra)(Many others herritage site, temple, thousand more)
Cambodia= have Koh Ker(Cambodian Pyramid) Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Royal Palace Phom Penh(many others example Preah Vihear temple) (Many others)
Loas =have Wat Phu Temple complex and Wat Si Saket
Vietnam =have Cham Tower "Po Nagar" and "My Son" Hindu Malay Champa Kingdom and Viets Royal Palace called "Imperial City, Hue" "Purple Forbidden City Hue"
Malaysia =have Balai Besar Alor Setar, Istana Seri Menanti(Seri Menanti Old Palace) and Candi Lembah Bujang(Bujang Valley Temple) (many others)
Burma =have Bagan and Royal Palace Mandalay
Thailand =have Ayutthaya city ruins and Grand Palace Bangkok (Many others)
even small country like Singapore and Brunei also have stone-brick ruins build by ancient kingdom
Brunei =have Kota Batu Archaeological Park
Singapore =have Bukti Larangan or English "Forbidden Hill" Fort Canning.
Singapore with Ancient Malay architecture. even small they have it, and rebuild BUT NOT PHILIPPINE! they love and kiss Spanish so much.

Stone temple

What do the Philippines and Australia have in common?
We were both colonized and subjugated. That is why no ancient structures ever survived. The dufference is in Australia they replaced the native population entriely.
If you have that much history knowledge then I'd assume you alreqdy know that the Intramuros was built over the old city of Maynilad. They burned the old cities and leave nothing behind. They want the natives to be loyal to the spanish crown so they tried everything to erase yhe culture.
If I may point out, have you heard the Church of Paoay?
It's an old church in the north which was build around late 1500s to early 1600s. You can evidently see the javanese architecture style which is similar to Borobudur of Java. It can be deduced that the ruling spanish ordered the locals to construct a structure for their church. They built a structure that they already know that is why we have the Paoay Church with javanese style walls.
What do you expect under 300+ years of colonialism? The ancient cities were destroyed completely and spanish are very good at it. See the history of yhe Kibgdom of Maynila and Kingdom of Tondo.
@@safuwanfauzi5014 @Safuwan Fauzi ancient filipino architecture didn't had stone or bricks because the materials are bamboo and wood decorated with gold sheets. And that was all documented on Pigafetta's diary
@@safuwanfauzi5014 and by the way, we don't have ancient palaces because our palaces are made of wood. And the last palace of Rajah Sulayman was burned down in the late 1500s
@@robidimaculangan2296 Did Luzon architecture like Malay "Balai adat Melayu", and "Rumah Gadang"? did filipino still continue built local architecture like Malaysia-Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Myammar, China, Japan, Korea, Laos and Bhutan?
MORE DOCUMENTARY LIKE THIS!!!
Napakahusay talaga ng GMA PUBLIC AFFAIRS.💯💯
Ang ganda ng tondo or pilipinas in general noon. Ngayon sinira na ng mga pilipino because of corruption, lack of urban planning, lawlessness and orderliness, b poverty etc...tsk tsk. That's why I have more compassion towards animals.
Proud to be a Tondo Boy! Nice Documentary! 👍

Proud Tondo Boy born in 56 Imelda St. Bario. Magsaysay..
This kind of history should be filmed and taught in school.
What a history.... My relatives ancestors are one of early datu of camarines norte that they mention...

Our asymptotic love story
Sa US almost every town and city has a museum and a public library para ma archive ang mga sinaunang dokumento at mga antigo that depicts the history of the area.
I will watch this later
Our Asymptotic Love Story brought me here! #oals
Common din po ang intermarriage between Kapampangan and Tagalog noong una pa man.
interesting documentary
Sinong napunta dito dahil sa Our Asymptotic Love Story 😅

CORDILLERA the home of bravest💪waiting for it documentary
We observe that the consciousness of Filipinos on pre Hispanic history is increasing. Just recently, a group of patriotic Filipinos led by Kalinangan TV launched the Bagong Bagani Award. This award recognizes organizations and individuals who had been working for the promotion of indigenous Filipino culture and history. The board of judges for the award are the leaders of the Principalia Hereditary Council of the Philippines headed by Grand Patriarch Sofronio Dulay, Datuk Delmar Taclibon and Dayang Corazon Siya.
May we nominate awardees for this Bagong Bagani Award. We think that Filipino leaders who are pushing for indigenous Filipino culture should be recognized like those who are pushing for arnis, tinalak, kundiman, baybayin, siday, balagtasan, etc...even those pushing for Sumpa ni Lakan Dula. I mean, we should be patriots and not colonial mentality.
this is very informative documentary.keep it up I witness!
