mahidi not da ntire philippine archipelago was islamized at dat time. during da era of lakan dula, it was da dawn or early phase of the islamization of tundo/manila. not total islamization. it was because of the xpansion of the bruneian empire at dat time. its xpansion was of palawan , mindoro and tundo/manila only. brunei called manila dat time as kota seludong. take note, it doesn't include da islands of visayas , northern mindanao n northern luzon. rajahnate of cebu and rajahnate of butuan in northern mindanao resisted islamization of dat time. so these rajahnates continued to practice their local indianized animistic religion. as I said earlier, back to tundo, its islamization is not total but was still on da process at dat time. one spanish chronicler n historian said in their book dat, dat lakans or datus of manila n some locals had muslim names but islam was not practiced completely. so the spanish conquest of of manila, mindoro n palawan put an end to islamic influence . they were all baptized to Catholicism. it was very easy for the Spaniards to baptized the locals since islam was not yet fully established at dat time in tundo/manila.

@@safuwanfauzi5014 Look for the stone houses of Ivatan and the rice terraces (Ifugao) in the Cordierra mountains. There is even evidence the old Tondo city was built on top of what it is today and the same goes for the city before Intramuros. Those are the few they made. The inhabitants of the isles back then were animists. They respected nature enough not to make huge permanent structures with the exception of it being for survival. The islands had polynesian roots so they focused more on sea faring trade. The island was and still is a paradise. People can get by with simple living structures. Other countries made long lasting structures but that is due to their beliefs, outer country war/invasions and the climate. Japan has a similar climate with the difference of having more than one or two seasons. They made more permanent structures after a Chinese faction from China went to what is now Japan. But if you look at people before that they were similar, they were animists and often did not make permanent structures. Areas with more than summer as their season tend to make sturdy dwellings in order to get by winter, drought, ect. which the isles did not have (much of). If anything that doesn't mean the cultures are less sophisticated. Literacy rates in the isles had a huge scope that even slaves and women could read and write and it was common that even slaves owned gold jewelry passed down from their family. There are still undiscovered things waiting to be found in the country.

IWitness has proven itself as an outstanding news documentary outfit. I commend Sandra Aguinaldo and her team for highlighting an otherwise unknown glorious past of the Kingdom of Tondo. My dad was a Tondo Boy, and mighty proud of it, as I am of him. His brother, Manuel Principe Bautista, an acclaimed poet and writer, also wrote proudly of the Tondo he grew up in. Thank you, GMA.

Maganda rin sana kung mag air din kayo ng marami pa pong history documentaries, well researched and real-facts only po sana talaga, kagaya nito. O di kaya mga drama rin na histories based, fictional man o true stories, kasi medyo nakakasawa na yung modern chararat sa tv. Ngi.... salamat pooo

What do the Philippines and Australia have in common?
We were both colonized and subjugated. That is why no ancient structures ever survived. The dufference is in Australia they replaced the native population entriely.
If you have that much history knowledge then I'd assume you alreqdy know that the Intramuros was built over the old city of Maynilad. They burned the old cities and leave nothing behind. They want the natives to be loyal to the spanish crown so they tried everything to erase yhe culture.
If I may point out, have you heard the Church of Paoay?
It's an old church in the north which was build around late 1500s to early 1600s. You can evidently see the javanese architecture style which is similar to Borobudur of Java. It can be deduced that the ruling spanish ordered the locals to construct a structure for their church. They built a structure that they already know that is why we have the Paoay Church with javanese style walls.
What do you expect under 300+ years of colonialism? The ancient cities were destroyed completely and spanish are very good at it. See the history of yhe Kibgdom of Maynila and Kingdom of Tondo.

Calsipher True po. Actually, ang Kapampangan at Tagalog ay malapit ang ugnayan sa isa’t isa. Common din po ang intermarriage between Kapampangan and Tagalog noong una pa man. Kaya kahit magkaiba ang language family nila, marami po common words. Ang ginawa ng mga hayup na Kastila, pinag-away ang Kapampangan at Tagalog, kaya hanggang ngayon po may iringan ang dalawang tribo.

We observe that the consciousness of Filipinos on pre Hispanic history is increasing. Just recently, a group of patriotic Filipinos led by Kalinangan TV launched the Bagong Bagani Award. This award recognizes organizations and individuals who had been working for the promotion of indigenous Filipino culture and history. The board of judges for the award are the leaders of the Principalia Hereditary Council of the Philippines headed by Grand Patriarch Sofronio Dulay, Datuk Delmar Taclibon and Dayang Corazon Siya.

May we nominate awardees for this Bagong Bagani Award. We think that Filipino leaders who are pushing for indigenous Filipino culture should be recognized like those who are pushing for arnis, tinalak, kundiman, baybayin, siday, balagtasan, etc...even those pushing for Sumpa ni Lakan Dula. I mean, we should be patriots and not colonial mentality.
