In Twice's V Live broadcast ' 구칠즈 ❤ TT ' weeks ago, Jihyo shared she was sad that Twice wudn’t be able to promote TT on music shows much because Twice had to fly n prep for JYP Nation concert in Bangkok week after TT's launch. Momo chimed in that they wud get to meet Thai fans tho, and that cheered Jihyo up: "Yes! We get to meet our Thai fans instead!"
JYP Nation was eventually cancelled in respect of Thailand’s mourning the passing of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, but Twice was ready and eager to greet Thailand with a hopeful heart. To then see so much hate coming from Thailand with its trending #antitwice movement breaks my heart 💔
I have Thai friends, and have been there too. This is NOT the welcoming and friendly Thailand I know.
JYPE gave us Nichkhun with 2PM, Bambam with GOT7. They have loved and groomed Thai talent even if Natty didn't make the final Twice lineup. Is it fair to expect a Thai in every JYP group?
To those who hate saying the girls are just lucky to be in JYPE and lack ‘talent’, how well do you know them? We have Jihyo who trained for 10 years with JYPE. Nayeon for 5 years. Momo, Sana, Mina and Tzuyu who left the comfort of their homes and families in pursuit of their dream and trained hard since. Momo was known as the most hardworking JYPE trainee ever - always in the dance studio practicing the longest in spite of her already obvious talent. If that wasn’t enough, the girls were put through a cruel survival competition with SIXTEEN before making Twice. When was the last time you and I sacrificed as much for something we dreamed of?
If it were true only foreigners who didn’t know better would fall for their ‘superficial’ charms and ‘lousy’ singing, Google their TWICE x AKARAKA university performance (in my playlist too) and judge the Koreans’ reaction for yourself - this was NOT their personal concert.
To those who claim Twice is all looks only, realise how ironic it is:- because when Jihyo appeared on Masked Singer and showed her excellent vocals, she was body-shamed by a guest panel guessing her identity, saying she must not be an idol as even though she sings great, she has the physique of a ‘mother with a child'. That hurt, but ultimately motivated her to get into even better shape and look at how gorgeous she now looks in TT… Yet now we have haters saying just the opposite - that they are all visuals only. Can they ever please everyone?
To those who say Twice has had it easy since debut and don’t deserve success - there was the Tzuyu flag incident for one. One moment Tzuyu was innocently holding a prop mini-Taiwan flag on My Little TV (as others held flags of their own country), the next moment she was accused by political operatives of being pro-Taiwan independence. Chinese netizens hated on Twice and JYPE, and their artists had appearances and endorsements cancelled. JYPE stock fell. Imagine that, a 16 year old having to suffer all the hate for merely holding a prop flag - without agenda - of her place of origin. And she had to publicly apologise on video for it. Twice has worked so hard since to recover from the incident. No, they are not princesses who have had no. 1 wins handed to them without sweat and tears!
Or maybe the hate is simply from rival fandoms with a huge base in Thailand, wary of Twice’s success; or from fandoms of rival girl groups with a Thai members, who think they are better than Twice; or is a reaction provoked by some immature Twice fan who offended other fandoms...
Let’s all be bigger than this. There is a world audience large enough for all genres and groups of Kpop. What goes around comes around. The concept of Karma should not be unfamiliar to Thais. Love for Twice does not diminish love for your favourite group.

Don’t want to jump to conclusions on the hate coming from Thailand, but fact that most tweets with #antitwice are in Thai, and that TT was originally trending at # 1 before plummeting to # 37 there, while it is still trending Top # 1 to 10 in most other North / South East Asian countries, it's telling.
