- We are a empty nester couple traveling the US with our Tiny camper from Runaway Campers. No we are not full timers but we do spent months each year on the road.
Ed struggles with Parkinson’s disease. Some days are better than others. If you see him shaking don’t worry he is fine. With medication it is under control most of the time. Through the magic of camera stability you can hardly notice.
In this video we attend the 2024 Runaway Camper Homecoming Rally. It was almost a complete washout. We did our best to capture all the fun and activities despite the weather.
We post a video most Sundays we hope you will join us. Subscribe if you like or just drop by occasionally.

Thank you, kiddos! We really enjoyed this video❤
Your welcome
Even with the rain, looks like you had a good time. Meeting up with friends is the best! Cmon Jack, give Ed a break.
Yes we need a break
Great video. Love seeing the setups of the campers. It gives you so many ideas. That fajita looked delicious! Wish you would have had better weather. Mother Nature must think it’s funny to keep us campers guessing. Wish you would have made it to your other destination. Glad you got the van fixed.
Maybe one day!
YAY! Just got home in time for a new video~! woot!
Just in time for
Good job putting together some video of this. The weather made it extremely challenging to do, way to make some lemonade from the lemons lol. Great to see you guys again.!
It was a challenging video to make. It was great spending time with you
Wow, what an adventure, but God saw you through all this. Enjoyed the drone footage as well.
No drones were crashed in the making of this video
Great video, boy the ideas are running thru my head, can’t wait to purchase our runaway. Retirement day is Dec31,2024 let the fun begin
The runaway is a great retirement present. We love ours
It was great seeing you'll. I'm hoping that we have sunshine in April!
Us too !
Haven't been around for while.. nice to catch up with the Herky family.. thanks for sharing
Welcome back!
I've camped in weather like that, and it's definitely not my favorite. We sit in a circle, shoulder to shoulder, around a propane fire pit, and we're nice and warm. Even better if you hang a USB fan from the ceiling, to circulate the heat.
Better luck next year
SERIOUSLY enjoying the drone footage!
No drones were crashed in the making of this video
Love it, rain and all. The Runaway family is awesome.
Fun people
Despite the rain, it was great seeing you guys and everyone.
Fingers crossed next rally the sun is shining!
We still had fun
I remember as a teen my distributor cap popped off anytime it rained or going through a water puddle. I knew the sound and was drenched each time as I put the cap back on.
Those caps have always been a problem
Great video ,sorry u broke down but I’m glad u made it home ok sorry that the shop was mean to u?😂😂😂😂😂❤
We made the best of the situation tanka’s for your kind words
I’m with Ed, keep the van
Thanks for the support :)
Just snatched his taco. No shame at all.
Nope
We so enjoy the videos of your travels even the rainy ones. Ed I hope your health stays stable and you are able to travel for years to come.
Not every day is a perfect weather day but you have to take the good and the bad. Health…..some days you hardly know I have Parkinson’s other days it’s not so good.
You two are such wonderful peeps! I hope to meet you someday soon! WE gotta have some Biscuits and Gravy Missouri-style! (once again my mother's family all from Joplin and other places ma'ma was born in '37 in Ft. Lupton CO, and grams was from Missourah etc.) and wow they could cook! :) Also ironic; my first dog when I was a kid was named Muggsy! :) Hilarious! I'm looking to find one of the older wooden runaways like you have, specifically a RangeRunner and it's like looking for a needle in a haystack. my plans for renovations would just work better with wood VS composite etc. Hopefully soon or I'll just have to be forced to buy a new one ;) Either way looking to pull this off around August or so. So yeah. distributor caps... don't get me started lol Glad you got it sorted :) (sure sucks about the lack of hospitality and empathy of some people's kids etc. SMH ) MAD respect for how you just push through BS regardless of adversity! I've always enjoyed that about you two :) I'm also sure glad you got the great weather while you were broken down VS when you were at the Rally and on your way home. lol and NO!!! DON'T get rid of the van! I'm serious; just had to throw my 2c in lol. If you ever sell it, (for future reference) please consider looking me up. Seriously. I'd sure enjoy takin' it off your hands if/when that's possible. What a project I could continue your ingenuity and skills! Those were my fav vans when they were new! Jack STILL got you through Alaska and more! GREAT stuff!
We prefer the wool ones also to us they feel more cozy.
